The Moon came to play

It was cold.

That was one constant, Remus supposed, about the whole situation.

He was waiting on the now deteriorated bed in the middle of the room with brown torn sheets, arms wrapped around himself as he curled up into a ball, burning hot - like he had fire in his bones - an yet shivering, his teeth chattering together. The rising moonlight glared at him through the window, attracting his attention and keeping his eyes glued to one spot, a clear reminder for what was to come.

A clear reminder as to the monster he was.

A sharp pain suddenly spiked travelling up along his spine causing him to yelp and fall over sideways so that he was now lying down on the bed. He choked back a sob, everything hurt, but he couldn't prevent the tears that fell from his eyes.

Suddenly, a cool palm touched his cheek as he felt a presence next to him. He tried to warn them to stay away - he was a monster, he would hurt them - but Remus found himself gripping the hand and feeling himself being lifted up, the other hand in his hair, shushing him.

"it's ok ma lune. Your ok, your safe. I've got you."

Remus sinfffled, crying out as another sharp pain shot through him, this one more intense then the last. The hand in his let go and traveled to his back where it started to rub comforting circles.

He turned his face and buried it into the boys shoulder inhaling the smell.

Sirius.

Oh sirius. No matter how hard the pain was, no matter how much the beast inside clawed and bashed and growled out and ruined everything Remus had, Sirius was always somehow there.

Sirius held Remus, if only for a short while as he had to transform, kissing him tenderly on the burning forehead. Just as he did before every moon, a reminder there he was still there. Remus closed his eyes as he stopped crying, leaning into the touch.

''I'm here ma lune, I am here." Sirius whispered. Remus nodded, no energy left to reply.

Sirius was here. It was going to be alright.
