It's Definitely Still Broken
Summary
The banister in the Potter household is broken and James is the only one who can fix it.AKA: lily stares at James's ass for like 400+ words
Note
Could James fix it with magic? Maybe. But Lily forbade him to use it all the time.

"Are you sure?" James asks Lily as he stands in the garden with their son Harry in the kiddy pool.

"It's definitely broken, James. And I can't find the ladder or anything."

James sighs and looks at Harry. "Buddy, mummy is gonna sit out here with you."

Lily looks at James. "I am making dinner. How about Harry comes inside? It's gonna get dark soon and Harry has to get ready for his uncles to come over tomorrow. Remember?"

Ah yes, Sirius and Remus would be coming over to spend time with Harry while James and Lily did some birthday shopping for him. How could he forget.

"Okay let me get a look at this." James brought Harry inside and Lily wrapped him in a towel to dry off while she worked on dinner. James grabbed the ladder and went to the staircase to see what Lily said was broken. James realized that the banister what broken heavily. "Lils how did this happen?" He called to his wife, setting the ladder up and then going to get his tools.

"You had the bright idea to let Harry play mini Quidditch in the house last Tuesday. That quaffle hit the banister." She smiled as Harry waddled to his mum and hug her leg. "Hi baby, why don't I get you a juice. Apple?" She handed him a small juice box and watched him put the straw in.

"Thank you mummy." Harry's sweet voice made Lily melt. He padded back to his small chair at the table. Lily watched James set down the toolbox and climb the ladder with her bottom lip between her teeth. She waited for James to be distracted before turning down the heat on the food and going to stand behind the ladder.

"Okay I can get this fixed. I remember we had an extra set of banisters in the attic." James was so unknowingly allowing his arse to be gazed on. "Would you go get them babe?" He asked, turning to look at Lily, who was pretending to have just come out of the kitchen.

"Yeah I can. Will you watch Harry while I do?" James nodded and went to the kitchen to watch Harry sip his juice. Lily came back from the attic holding the spare banister. "Okay I should cut that if we're gonna put it on that spot." He spoke before taking the banister and got his saw. He cut the banister to size and came back to continue the work on the banister.

Lily stared at James's bum so shamelessly until he turned to look at her, Lily pretending to be looking at Harry. "Do you think you could trash this broken one?"

"Yeah love." She took the banister and trashed it outside in the dumpster before rushing back inside when she heard his feet on the ladder. Harry was now strapped to James's back in the carrier that Harry managed to still fit. Harry smiled widely at Lily and clapped.

"Mummy!" She smiled at his words and blew him a kiss. He giggled, making her awe before her gaze fell to James's arse, smirking as she realized his pants were visible under his trousers, the trousers slowly sliding down his backside. She licked her lips and smiled a bit as she remembered what they'd done the night before, the duvet on the floor, the pillows ending up with it, and their voices staying quiet so they didn't wake their son. She rubbed her stomach softly and smiled. She and James had been trying for almost a whole three months for another baby and at this point they were worried Harry would grow up alone with no siblings.

Of course, Harry had a cousin, Dudley. But Vernon and Petunia refused to talk to Lily anymore after they found out she was marrying James. But when Lily and James had their brush with death, Petunia started to send letters. She sent one weeks ago saying she was wanting to leave Vernon but she didn't think she could do it.

The thoughts of her sister disappeared when James started to go to work hammering in the banister. She gazed downward and smiled as she realized his pants were far more visible, black band and red fabric shone through, making her smile wider.

"It looks slightly crooked." She spoke up, smirking a bit.

"It does?" James angled himself backwards a bit. "Oh. It actually does. I'll fix it." Lily was shocked she was right so she kept looking at James's arse. "You know maybe we should repaint them. I never was a fan of the white. What if we did like a dark brown?"

James thought about it and shrugged. "Maybe next week. We've got a lot going on." James was right, Lily was just trying to keep him up there. "We could do red."

"Oh goodness no. Brown will be just fine. " She insists and smiles as he shakes his hips a bit.

"Lils put our wedding music on. Please? " James loved the record they used for their first dance so he always asked for it to be played. Lily grabbed her wand off the table and flicked it, causing the record to go onto the player and start playing.

James started to sing along and Lily watched him with a smile as he continued to fix the banister. He got his leveler and made sure it was all good.

"It's definitely still crooked. That thing is broken. I'm telling you it is." Lily insisted, biting her lip.

"Really?" James sighed. "Maybe the leveler is broken, it says its straight but if you say so." He shrugged and worked on it a bit longer.

It took James an hour to realize Lily was lying to him. "YOU LITTLE-" He stormed into the kitchen to find a cackling Lily.

"You took an hour!" She laughed as James walked over and kissed her.

"You were just staring at my arse weren't you?" He whispered in her ear. "You are definitely gonna be pregnant after tonight." He kissed her neck making her giggled.

"Stop that. Harry is looking."
