Prologue
Everyone says the war ended when Voldemort died. There were celebrations and awards given. There were arrests of the Death Eaters and Dementor kisses given out like free candy. But the war did not end for everyone. Some people became ghosts of their past with eyes which looked broken, while others moved on with hope, quietly suffering in the dark of the night. The war taught the Wizarding World what humanity was. Many returned to Hogwarts to complete their education, while others were immediately hired by the Aurors Department. But one disappeared. There was no letter, no patronus, or no locating spell which could find her. After a few months rumors began to spread. “She moved back to muggle London to have a normal life for a while,” said some, while others speculated she had committed suicide due to the horrors she had survived. Days turned into months, and months turned into years, but no word came from the Golden Girl. Eventually society moved on. She wasn’t forgotten but just became a figure of history taught in school. Her memory was honored alongside those who lost their lives on May 2nd. Hermione Granger was gone.
