Family connections and Royal interjections Oh My
--Howlette's Inn, Terra--
Silver sat down at her desk with Perry, Raspen, Alec, and Mariposa across from her, Zhongli standing beside her. "Now, as both of you are Soulbonded pairs, there's going to be some ground rules. Zhongli has prepared the Betrothal Contract between Alec and Mariposa, so you two will be reading that. Raspen, Perry, you two will have to come up with a believable cover for you both."
"Why not keep it pretty close to the truth, two lovers that took refuge after enough neglect and they took their siblings as well to spare them the same hardships they endured?" Mariposa offered up. "Could still have them be from small unknown wixen communities that have their noble status, and let their rings be heir's rings since they are the eldest, they are finishing their schooling no contact with their biological parents," she finished.
Silver hummed lightly. "That would work, as every good story has a grain of truth."
Zhongli nodded. "Then that shall be the story."
"And all of you meet during the day trip I took you on, becoming fast friends." Silver nodded. "Good enough, and holds the Oath up."
Mariposa beamed a bit as she turned her attention back to her contract. She was reading line by line doing her best to understand what was being laid out. It was the looses of Betrothal Contracts for her to be engaged with. She was allowed to control all interactions from second year on so that it was seen in her favor. She saw that there would be dates once she was old enough, 3rd year if she was comfortable. Limited Courting gifts for birthdays and Yule. There was a lot more in there about appropriate contact and time limits but over all it was very straight forward. "I think i get this, This year either of us can initiate any of the approved forms of PDA: hand holding, cheek pecks, things like that; but starting next year I have to initiate all contact so that it is seen as safe but the list remains the same until i reach 14 at the earliest for quick kisses being added." She said blushing a bit. "Also starting in 3rd year we can start having dates on hogsmead weekends," She added. "anytime we have blankets I can be under but Alec has to remain above the blanket." She reminded herself. "So that all interactions are above board so to speak," She looked at Silver "Am I getting the idea of what this contract states?" making sure she understood it all.
"Yes, and I haven't signed, because I wanted your Approval on this, Mariposa." Silver said. "I wanted to give you the oppurtunity to get to see this before you'd both be bound by it. Alec you'll be signing as well, by the way, just so it holds after your 16th birthday. This will hold until your age of Maturity of at least until you inherit the Titles, Mariposa."
Mariposa nodded understanding. She smiled as she carefully added her signature to the contract.
Silver took the contract, signing as well, before passing the contract to Alec to sign.
"May I borrow that pen, Heiress Potter." Raspen asked politely.
Alec took the contract and read it over one more time making sure nothing was out of place but knowing silver would never sign something that had anything out of place he took a deep breath as he bent down to sign.
As Alec was signing Mariposa smiled and nodded her head "Of course, Prince Raspen," she said reaching over with the pen for him to take.
As their hands brushed together, a spark of white-gold magic sparked between them. "Oh..." Raspen breathed out in surprise and joy.
Silver, having smelt the magic, groaned. "Mariposa..."
"What? I didn't do anything," She squeaked.
Silver then turned to Raspen. "Have you not temporarily sealed the ability for more Soulbonds to activate?"
"....No, Lady Silver." Raspen answered, sheepish.
Silver just sighed, before reaching into a draw, pulling out a glass of Whiskey, then slamming it back. "Read the Contract as well, though you'll have to be more cunning about it."
"What just happened Maman?" Mariposa asked nervously.
Zhongli answered as Silver set about pushing the contract to Raspen to read. "That was the activation of a Soulbond, though only on Raspen's side as you're sealed tight. "I'm... unsure of how that's possible, however."
"Ki, fucking Ki..." Silver muttered under her breath.
Mariposa looked at Raspen who was much older than her, 4 years. She wasn't sure what to think of what was going on. She really didn't understand everything that was going on with the soulmate....bond thing. "So a person can have more than one soul bond?" she asked to Silver.
"Oh yes, usually it'd be 1 to 3 max, depend on your needs, however.... With some inheritances there's a chance for more." Silver answered.
"I see, so that means if I am on the normal range I might have one more correct?" Mariposa asked. She only had to expect one more possible connection like this random and sudden that she couldn't feel until they could safely protect her soul.
"It is possible that you'll only have one more, but there's also the possibility for more, and with your Family's Luck, which do you think will happen?" Silver said, sipping on more whiskey.
Mariposa sighed "Best not to discuss it further then right?" she said.
"Best thing yes." Zhongli said, stealing the glass away from Silver, before she could actually get drunk.
"So I have to spend time with both of them while at school without drawing suspicion?" Mariposa asked.
"Alec would draw less suspiscion as your betrothed, but Raspen, if not in the prescense of your brother would be... maybe. It depends on how you swing it." Silver said, her hand waving, letting Dawne, Harry, Rathien- Raspen's younger brother, and Xanthel into the room, effectively ending the conversation.
"Hey there Mariposa," Harry said grinning, "Ready to go to Camp? We have to leave soon if we want to add Alec and Dawne to the roster," He said as Dawne pouted.
"They don't seem interesting," Dawne said as Mariposa looked at her then asked "Why do you say that? Runes are the base of all written languages, if we didn't have runes some bloodlines wouldn't be here today," Mariposa defended.
Dawne looked at Mariposa tilting her head. "Explain," she said simply. Mariposa looked at Silver's bookshelves and saw a copy of the rune history book she had been reading before the meeting. "May I borrow that Runes: A History book?" Mariposa asked Silver who nodded and floated the book over to her. Once she had the book in reach she opened it to a specific page then laid it down and motioned for Dawne to come up.
"This is the History of how a Wixen mother saved her children from hungry wolves for days using runes, without that her bloodline would have been extinguished, she used protect, shelter and warm, since they were in a cold area. When help arrived the children were helping the mother draw the runes even though they couldn't activate them alone and had the leylines assisting them." She explained a fire in Mariposa's eyes.
"Now that is interesting, why had no one thought to explain it that way why runes were so important?" Dawne asked her brother.
"Because Mother didn't want you smart, Sister, she wanted to continue to rule through you, or have you think like her and beholden to her chosen people so that the Status Quo could be kept." Perry explained.
Mariposa thought about it then took a blank piece of paper and sketched out a rune array in Air runes to reveal any compulsions or runic manipulations to the naked eye. "Maman is this safe?" Mariposa asked showing her work to Silver.
Silver looked it over, before nodding. "Let me call in Krymsen in, so that if there's anything to see, he can take a copy and note it."
Mariposa nodded as she let Silver keep the runes sketch.
Silver made the call, before Krymsen appeared in the room. "I thought of something, Crimson Tide, and wish for you to Witness this, so that there is Proof beyond Word." She intoned, making his Oaths as a Blood Title activate, and as Lead Investigator.
"What would you have me Witness, Lady Silver Ashwood?" Krymsen intoned.
"A test for runic compulsions and mental alterations." Silver answered.
"Then do your test, so that the Magic can be Witnessed." Krymsen gave her a very intrigued look.
Silver used her magic to make the runic circle. "Perryton, if you would step in first?"
Perry was shocked but nodded. He guessed it was to show Dawne it was Safe possibly.
As the Runic circle activated, Silver placed a scroll of parchment in the correct rune, letting it be written there. She waited then the scroll lifted, unrolling, writing onto the paper damning evidence.
Perry was shocked for the second time in so many minutes. He had not expected there to be anything found. The parchment listed a lot: Compulsions to avoid the Throne, Mental aversions to caring for his Sister(Broken), Mental aversions to take the Oath to [REDACTED], and Compulsions to avoid staying near his Sister(Broken).
Krymsen took the sheet before anyone else could grab it, the array going out, now that it was finished. "Princess Dawne, take his place in the array." He ordered.
Dawne nodded shyly, before she switched places with Perry, watching as Silver placed the scroll in place. The Runic array lit up again, but Krymsen blocked the results from being seen by the room. He took it without word, and left, telling no one the results, but his face had said enough. The array vanishing with him, and the sketched array in his grasp as well.
Silver stood for a moment, her face full of shock before she sat heavily on her chair. "That... That is not good." She whispered, before she looked to Zhongli, who lifted her into his arms, taking her seat.
"Everyone but Mariposa and Harry will be seeing the Goblins today, Xanthel will be escorting you. I will be enrolling you all into Hogwarts with the Twins to keep up the Story we are telling." Zhongli said, motioning to the Joker.
"I have called in hands from the Misfits, so keep talking to a minimum, as they will be needing all of their senses on the surroundings." Xanthel said, to the room. "They will be unmasked so you will need to keep their names- should you know them- to yourselves. Am I understood?"
"Harry and Mariposa will be heading to day camp shortly as well, so please make your partings brief." Silver said, having pulled herself together as Zhongli and Xanthel talked.
"Alec you be careful today and don't go mouthing off with the goblins, we don't need them to try and declare war against you," Mariposa teased Alec as she hugged him.
Harry waited for Mariposa to say her good byes.
As Mariposa was hugging Alec Raspen received a message from Ebony. He laughed at the timing. "So Lady Silver how would you like a full Young Royal collection?" he asked as he looked over Rathien to make sure he looked acceptable for his status.
Silver gave a suspicious look. "How bad is it?" She asked.
"Only Ebony knows truly she just normally messages Perryton or myself once a week that her parents are driving her crazy, she might talk to someone not us if given the chance, I think they are putting more than average duties on her shoulders at her health's expense. She is the Sacred Flame Maiden and crown princess after her cousin did not qualify to take the oath," Raspen explained.
"Have her bring an Adult she trusts, but... Yes she can come. I need her to go to Aiden first, with the message of Silver Acquisition, and that's it. They both will have to swear the Oath you both took as well." Silver agreed after a moment of silence. "Harry, Mariposa, Xiao is taking you both to Camps."
"That would be Yue then i'll let her know what to do," He said before sending the message bubbled back to Ebony with instructions. "Will we be waiting for her then before we go to the goblins?" Raspen asked as he felt Mariposa come and hug him as well quickly.
"Everyone stay safe," Mariposa said as she went to Harry and left with Xiao.
"Depending if she gets here in the next five minutes or so, then she'll go today, the appointment is in twenty minutes." Silver explained.
-- Fire Court, Nevarah, Royal Private Chambers --
Ebony looked at everything in her room and void stoned it, if Raspen said to find someone she trusted and go to Lord Arythmoor she knew it was serious. She might not be coming back for a while and she didn't need to lose anything here. She took a deep breath as she then sent a message to her cousin and said to meet her at their spot. After she sent that she dressed down a bit and put on one of her cloaks that hid who she was better.
Stepping out she went carefully to the meeting spot and waited. She couldn't take the pressure from her mother anymore, She didn't know what was going on with her father's health either and with the sacred flame not giving her more than run when she meditated she didn't know what else to do.
Yue got Ebony's message and was watching her. She looked scared and ready to run. He didn't like how this was with his cousin. He took a deep breath as he stepped up and met his Cousin's gaze. "What's up little Flame?" Yue asked as he crossed his arms.
"Help me get to see Lord Arythmoor, now" Ebony said quickly in a hushed tone. She moved closer to Yue as she kept her hood up.
"That's a tall order even for me little Flame, not everyone can get an audience with him," He countered.
"I need this Yue, it's getting worse," Ebony said as she moved closer and curled into her cousin looking as young as she truly was for the first time in a long time.
Yue thought about what he knew and who he was associated with and sighed. "Fine lets go," He said wrapping her in his arms. "Keep your breath held while i do this, it won't feel good," Yue warned. He felt her nod and take a deep breath. He gathered his cloak about them and the Icy touch of death crept in as he stepped from one point to the gates of Arythmoor Manor.
"Breath now little Flame," Yue said as he took a moment to steady her.
"What was that?" Ebony asked.
"If he allows me to tell you I will explain little flame but right now stay quiet until you are addressed directly," He warned. Yue could tell that the Manor was on lockdown right now as he knocked and waited.
When the gate opened and he saw Blood Song he bowed his head in acknowledgement. "I seek an audience with our lord, I bring this one under my protection and seek the audience on her behalf," Yue said not looking up, he would have knelt if it would not have made his cousin panic.
"Let me see your Guest's face." Blood Song said, calm, but not hostile, seeing the way the pair clung to each other. "Relation?"
"My cousin," Yue said as he motioned for Ebony to pull her hood down. She nervously did so pulling it back enough that she could be clearly seen.
"Was there something to be said?" Blood Song asked, his eyes narrowing.
"Only to Lord Arythmoor, I was instructed only to say it to him," Ebony said
"I'm his Bonded ACE." Blood Song returned.
"I was clearly instructed to tell him and him only," Ebony stated holding her ground.
"Then Caverel, you'll find no help here." Blood Song said, firm and unyielding. "You know what these Wards are stating, young one. Heed it."
"I was told by Raspen only to Tell Lord Aiden Arythmoor what I have to say," she growled out her temper starting to fray.
"DO not!" Blood Song snapped. "Growl at me. I am the ONLY one who can get you in."
Yue reached up and grabbed his Cousin's wrists to anchor her. "Little Flame breathe, apologize and state it again calmly, we can't get you help if you loose your temper," He said letting a little of his cool touch bring her back down.
Ebony closed her eyes and breathed. "I apologize for my outburst but Raspen said to only inform Lord Arythmoor of what i must state, If it was not so time sensitive I would have asked if any bonded would have been acceptable but time is of the essence," Ebony said more diplomatically.
"Then you must give me a different reason, then the Earth Crown Prince to allow you in." Blood Song said, relaxing as she did.
"Then as the Sacred Flame Maiden and not princess," Ebony started. "I've been told to run by the sacred flame,"
Blood Song reached out and yanked them both inside. "Quickly now." He ordered. "I will not apologise for my hostility, but you've heard the Bells, correct?"
"Yes Blood Song, I did, I understand the need for high alert, it is also why I used my maiden's cloak to flee the Palace," she stated.
"Come, through here." Blood Song lead them to Aiden's Official Office.
"Blood Song. Little Yue, report." Aiden said, growls in his voice.
"My Lord, I got a message from my cousin here urgently requesting my help to get an audience with you, She did not know my connection to you," he clarified "She told me that she was contacted by the Crown Prince of the Earth Court to speak with you and relay something if you will permit her to speak after I finish, and from what was said at the Gate she has been told by the Sacred Flame to run for a while now if I read her body language right," he said kneeling and keeping a hand on Ebony to keep her calm and quiet for right now.
"Rise." Aiden's eyes turned to the still cloaked figure. "There is only one cousin that Little Yue would speak highly enough of to risk my temper, but you will drop your hood." He spoke evenly,
Ebony blinked and nodded. She was not on her playing field but there's so she had to follow what was asked of her. She took a deep breath and with her free hand pushed back her Maiden's cloak hood to reveal herself fully to him. As she did she felt something odd at her wrist as she looked down and saw her cousin standing but fluxing between the cousin she knew and a cloaked and boned figure. She knew it was still him but his hand was fluxing against her skin. She didn't show fear because without him she would not be able to stand here now.
Aiden waited for a moment as the Magics of the Office flushed appearance charms and glamors. "Princess Ebony... Speak and tell me Everything. Do NOT hold back. This is more than just the message, more than the Sacred Flame, is it not?"
Ebony nodded. "I believe that the Fire Queen is attempting to control the next generation of the Fire Court, Blood title and Ruler." She said putting to words the fears she had been building since the Sacred Flame started to tell her to run.
Aiden's hand shot up to stop her, turning to Blood Song. "Get him home. NOW!"
Ebony waited for him to let her continue.
Blood Song looked torn. "I don't have a bond with the demon." He replied.
Aiden glared. "You know someone who does. Ewan. Now Go!" He turned back to Ebony, pulling out a fresh Recording Crystal. "Start from the beginning. Anything and everything you can think of as proof, then you will on crystal hand over you Royal Seal to Blood Song."
Ebony nods and waits for the crystal to be primed then begins. "I, Crown Princess and Sacred Flame Maiden, Ebony, believe that the Fire Queen is attempting to control the next generation of the Fire Court, Blood title and Ruler. Proof starts with the Disappearance of the Blood Title after an attempt to seduce him away from his bonded. Multiple attempts to seclude and cast magic upon a Sacred Maiden after Meditations. Unfit Punishments for entering areas of the Fire Palace. Coveting the new Blood Title and Attempting to initiate unwanted advances against the Blood Title. Attempted to forge artificial bonds with the Blood Title and circumvent predestined bonds. She is also charged with the enfeeblement of the rightful King," Ebony intoned Charges against her mother tears falling down her face. She missed her father most. "I have as a Sacred Maiden memory Crystals with all the evidence preserved for each charge. The king has not been seen in almost 2 years outside the palace walls," She added as she called the crystals to her hand from the void stone one after another until each one sat on Aiden's Desk color coded. It filled his desk top.
Aiden looked at the filled desk and paled. "Explain your system of Memories."
"Dark Grey is the original Blood Flame up to his Disappearance, White is the attempts after Meditations, Orange is current Blood Flame Memories, Red is memories of unfit punishments for locations being suddenly off limits, and Gold is Memories of the King,"
"Reaper. Retrieve the Fading Soul- alive- and bring him to me." The Immortal ordered loudly, and firmly. "Then you, Blood Flame, and the Crowne Princess are to leave Realm-side until the investigation is completed. Hound, call in my Favored Reapers, so that they are to Speak to Alcandor, and then to begin Investigations into the Earth and Fire Royal Courts. This is backed by the Immortals of Time, Fate, and Creation. Blood Song is to join with Crowne Prince of the Earth Courts and Remain by his side. Lady Magic will inform the Location to allow it, and both of you, Reaper and Blood Flame, shall follow the Crowne Princess of Fire in the same manner."
Blood Song entered the room once more, the Sacred Flame Guardian, and Blood Flame behind him.
"Complete the Rite as Demanded, Silver Ashwood of the Arythmoor-Lapis Circle shall have custody of all Crowned Heirs, Princes, and Princess until the time that it is safe for them to return. So We have ordered, So it shall be done! Crowne Princess, hand over your Royal Seal to me." The Immortal held out her hand, moving to Ebony so that the Recording Crystal could see it done, which was quickly done. "Hunt, my Reaper and Hound." The Immortal waved her hand and the Crystal shut off. "Be at ease, youngling, your father has many years yet before he returns to my embrace, more if he accepts the offer to be made."
"Thank you Lady for that reassurance," Ebony said bowing her head to Lady Death.
Yue looked at Ebony then smiled. "I'll be back, Little Flame," He said as he gathered his shadows and cloak and went back to his uncles side. He looked down at his Uncle's body no one came to work his muscles since he had fallen into the coma. Fire wanted to burn through him as he touched a void stone to his uncle then he left the room being a bit dramatic open reaper in the Fire Palace Halls. It was nice that he could scare the unworthy. It was too easy, getting back to Arythmoor Estate.
Aiden lead Yue to a bed, where the Immortal awaited, before motioning to it. "Put him there and leave, we will take care of the rest. you have another mission to complete in your mortal form. Blood Song awaits in my Office, you five will depart from there."
Yue nodded and bowed after laying his Uncle on the bed and left the room. He went back to the office and entered returning to his mortal form. "I didn't know you were carrying all that on your own Little Flame," Yue said gathering Ebony into his arms and holding her a moment.
"I couldn't let you know until now or I would never have gotten the help to get free of the political web," Ebony said as she held onto her cousin. She looked over and saw Blood Flame as well as one of the Sacred Flame Guardians. "I wish I could have told you before now," She said addressing the Guardian. "But I feared if you knew that you would disappear too, that they would replace you and I would be vulnerable again," Ebony said to the Guardian. "I could not risk the Safety of the Flame," She said bowing her head.
The Guardian tilted his head, understanding, but he didn't say a word to her, silent as he had always been, he gave her a Gheyo sign that told her of his acceptance of her Silence.
Ebony nodded and stood up again feeling better now.
Blood Song gathered everyone but the Guardian close, the portal whisking them away in a flash, a small bit of golden sand being left behind.
--Howlette's Inn, Terra--
The portal landed in Silver's Office, the wave of heat from the two Fire elementals making Alec scrunch his nose.
Ebony found herself standing there in an office alongside Yue. She blinked as she took in who all was around her. She saw her friends and tears did fall a bit more. "I got away Raspen, Perry, Im safe," she said feeling emotionally raw.
Perry and Raspen both pulled her into a hug. "We're glad, Eby." Perry murmured.
Silver cleared her throat. "Welcome to the Roost, Ebony, before we get further into things, I need an Oath for the protection of Home."
Ebony nodded. "Whatever you need."
Once the Oath was given, and the rest of the day. It ended with the three Royals sitting in front of Silver, glasses of Whiskey in front of everyone.
"you sure you want to give that to a fire elemental?" Ebony said jokingly trying to break the heaviness in the office.
Raspen shook his head at Ebony while he saw Perry take a sip of his own whiskey.
Silver sighed calmly. "Perry and Raspen have been through this conversation, but you need it as well Ebony." She proceeded to then explain why each of the other Royals were there and what has been going on from her knowledge of the Sitting Royals. "Ebony, I know you've given Evidence to Aiden, William has informed me, but we need to gather more Evidence for Raspen's and Perry's cases, because the more we have the paper trail, we also need other avenues."
Ebony thought about what Silver said. She nodded. "I know the ritual that can be done to put each of them into a trance like state and allow me to go retrieve the memories without interference. Any memories actively being thought about have a tendency to have bias while memories not are in their true form. " Ebony thought about it then added "But I don't know the elemental specifics for Air or Earth to do the grounding and meditative space properly for them," Ebony admitted.
Silver hummed. "That should be easy, make your elemental specific array, then Mariposa can come in."
"She's already making Arrays on her own?" Ebony asked shocked. She wouldn't expect a child to be making fully realized runic arrays at her age.
"We believe she has a gift related to runes, this is a test to see if I'm right." Silver said. "I'm a Genesis if it's wrong, I know how to fix it."
"Amazing," all three said at once. Then Ebony nodded and got to work on sketching out the runic array she needed to use, one she had made painstakingly in her own room time and again with reusability. She wrote it out with a well skilled hand that spoke of years of practice.
Silver hummed, looking at the array. "There's probably going to need limiters for Blood Flame's safety, we, of course, wont tell her anything as it will be her test along with the Elemental Transcription for Air and Earth."
Ebony nodded. "I cant wait to see what she can do," She said as she sat back.
A knock was heard and "Maman?" through the door. Silver bid her entry and Mariposa stepped in wearing a lavender dress. She looked at the full office and tilted her head. "What did you need Maman?" she asked as she curtseyed to the Royals before her.
"You can pack away fully the Royal Curtesy, at least on Terra, because our stories don't allow for our Crowns for now." Raspen said, after exchaning looks with the others.
Perry and Ebony nodded. They didn't mind ditching the Royal Protocols for the most part. "I see no need while were here, were just your seniors that will take care of you," Ebony said smiling at her.
Mariposa blushed just a bit as she nodded to them. "I'll remember that," she said as she looked at Silver for an answer.
"I need you to fix the runic array for Earth and Air elements." Silver waved to Ebony's array. "Leave the Fire one there as we will need it for Blood Flame."
Mariposa looked at the fire array that was sitting there then grabbed three sheets of paper.
"Oh no, you get to fully write it out this time." Silver said, "Pick your medium." She pulled out chalk, sand and ash.
"Can i sketch them out first, when i work with runes I can't retain they slip like water through fingers and are hard to work fast enough before the vanish like vapor," Mariposa asked.
"With how your gift is showing up, it's better not to leave a record at this point." Silver said. "If these two want to have a copy made....?"
"It has many useful applications if we were to keep them, We would just need the assistance of the Maidens to extract the memory," Raspen said
"And it can be used to show criminals their true crimes as some might not even notice it because their perception of their own actions is bias anyways but a memory is like a film untampered," Perryton stated.
Silver tilted her head, conceding to the points made. "Very well then."
So Mariposa worked sketching out the Arrays in movements much like Ebony's but with a little childlike movement.
Silver watched over the process, purring gently the whole time.
Mariposa worked on the Earth Runic array first and paused as she lifted her eyes to Silver "Is there a way to have the mediums colored like the Sand into Green and dark brown?"
"Not immediately not like we are trying to do, but there is a process that can be done that will infuse the colors with minimal magical interference," Silver said
Mariposa nodded and finished the Array and looked it over then adjusted a few of the spacings and nodded. She wrote to the side about the array needing to be set in a dark green and medium green ombre on top and dark root brown on bottom as notes to herself and those remaking the array.
She then went to work on sketching the Air array next and found it to flow a little easier but the color shifts felt more frequent. She wrote the array out in one go the spacing was good but she also added a few extra runes on the outside and wrote notes to the side. Colors shifted through the pastel rainbow all the way around then note for the extra runes on the outside were for anchoring the Air element when done not in the Air court areas.
Mariposa looked over the Fire array and just wrote notes on her paper for it that said that she needed to check anyone stepping into the array to make sure there was no fluxes that would interfere with the runes.
Silver checked over the runes, amused at the look of the arrays. "So colorful, Butterfly, but correct." She murmured, before pulling out her full colored chalk set for Mariposa. "Have at it."
Mariposa's eyes lit up as she took out the pastel rainbow colors she needed and then said "Light to dark" as her only reasoning. She then turned to the clear space she had to work. she knelt where the center would be and carefully drew the inner circle around a good two hands out from her. She marked each point she needed to change colors with the chalk laid there. She then went about copying her work. She moved efficiently around until she finished then added the outer circle. She then stepped out carefully as she then went back to the chalks and grabbed a sand brown and took them and wrote out the extra runes then nodded as she was satisfied.
"Finished," Mariposa said looking like a child that just finished playing with sidewalk chalks.
All of the others just looked at her with awe, and slight fear. "How are you able to do that?!" Raspen choked out.
Silver was the only one unafraid. "Because my daughter is Gifted with Runes." She purred with deep pride.
Mariposa looked at Silver then the circle, "Did i mess anything up on the transcription?" she asked worried at Raspen's reaction.
Silver shook her head. "No, he is in shock."
"Oh okay, I wouldn't want anyone hurt by my work," she said softly as she took a deep breath and smiled at everyone.
Ebony smiled at the little runes mistress. "Alright Perry lets get you comfortable inside the circle, Its going to be a good bit of time so i need you to sit in the circle," Ebony said as Perryton nodded and took off anything that could smudge the runes by accident and was just there in shirt sleeves and pants.
Ebony looked to Silver then asked "Someone with Air affinity activate them that's not Perry, since he needs to be under the influence of the runes,"
Silver handed over two crystals. One full of Air magics, the other was of Earth magics. "Here, use these." She said to Ebony.
Ebony nodded and took the Air crystal and began activating the runic array with it. She saw Perry lay his hands palms up on his knees before his body went into the state Ebony needed. She began the process color coding the memories she pulled as she went writing out the color coded cheat sheet so she was not exhausting herself or Perry.
When she was finished she had a full box of memories even things they thought they had erased from the princes mind. "I'll rest while she works on the next one," Ebony said sitting back down as she took the power from the array and Perry came back around.
Silver carefully vanished the array. "Perry, I want you to slide over to me. Raspen, you'll take his place. Mariposa, work around Raspen this time."
Perry and Raspen moved into place.
Mariposa nodded and looked at Raspen. "If I bump you it is only so that I don't ruin the runes," She warned as she went to start one the first side of the runes. She had this one sectioned off by the shades as well. She had three shades of dark root brown that were set at different positions as well that Raspen could see. She began by drawing the inner circle around her and Raspen. She then began to write the runes out shifting and adjusting as she needed to the chalks. She nodded as she finished the first half and turned to where the green to brown transition was and nodded to it as she began to erase a few extra parts and redrawing them in the brown. She had her tongue lightly between her teeth as she worked through the hardest point of the transition and carefully worked a piece of dust out of the way without touching the other rune lines. She seemed to breathe lightly enough nothing was disturbed as she continued around. She was meticulous as she switched colors and moved through the Earth runes a bit faster as she checked the paper less and less. It was like she was in a meditative zone as she moved. She finished the runes then stood and stepped over them to make the outer circle. She checked it over again but it was good and finished.
Silver watched, enjoying the sight of Mariposa working, pride shining in her eyes.
Raspen was in awe, his body as still as possible to allow her to work as he settled into a meditative state when she had finished.
Ebony looked to Silver as she grabbed the earth crystal again and set it down to activate the array after checking it for any smudges. She knew the girl did good work she just wanted to make sure her friend would be safe first and foremost. She began the same process as she had with Perry. She wrote the colors out as she came across the possible charges. She went back as far as she could and documented everything. She worked steadily then looked at Silver. "We won't need the young princess's memories right?" Ebony inquired. "Just Perry and Raspen's?" She hoped.
"It should be enough, but we probably should." Silver sighed.
Ebony sighed as she disconnected the Crystal and touched her friend's shoulder. "Rasp, hey can you get your brother? We need a few of his memories to just as back up, to show it wasn't just you seeing the problems," Ebony said softly as he came back around.
Raspen nodded, "Perry can grab him, Blood Flame, and Dawne, so that we can get this done. Once i feel stable enough I'll head outside of the room."
"I should have asked back with the Air array," Ebony said feeling bad that Mariposa had to go through all that work again for the Air Array.
"It's fine I liked making that one it was so colorful and happy," Mariposa said as she grinned up as Perry went out to grab the three who were missing.
When Perry got back he knocked and brough the two children in. "Blood Flame said he would wait outside so as to not disrupt any of the finer magics especially the Air Arrays," Perryton said as he looked at Raspen.
Raspen nodded, before he moved out of the way for Rathien to take his place. "Go on, little brother."
Rathien looked at Raspen as he eyed the runes. "Did you write these out?" He asked cautiously as he stepped in.
"Mariposa did, but I trust her." Raspen answered, rubbing his brother's head gently. "Get into the meditative pose I showed you."
"Okay but you'll activate the runes for them right?" Rathien asked taking his brother's words as he sat down and took the meditative pose that he knew.
Ebony looked at Raspen. "It will probably keep him the calmest if you activated it," She said looking at Raspen.
Raspen nodded, giving a small countdown before he activated the runes.
Once they did the count down Rathien slipped into the meditative state and Ebony continued gathering the memories needed from the young prince. She color coded them the same and added them to a new box. She felt bad but was glad the memories were lesser in number it seemed Queen Calla and Raspen kept the brunt of it away from him. "All done," Ebony said as she stepped back.
Silver kept silent, as she watched the process, the fact he had any was sorrowing.
Mariposa walked up and touched Rathien on the shoulder. "All done, you can go back with Raspen if you want," she said smiling at them.
Raspen nodded and scooped up his brother as he could tell the little one was tired from the process and meditating tended to do that to him anyways. "Lets go back to your room Little mountain, we will get you settled and you can rest," Raspen said as he stepped out of the room.
Silver vanished the runes once more, as she watched Mariposa re-draw the Air set. "Little whirlwind, will you sit were Rathien was?"
Dawne nodded as she carefully stepped into the beautiful runic array. She felt her foot touch the ground on the other side and could tell it was anchored like when she visited Perry at his office at the Royal Offices. This was someone her age drawing this was amazing. "It is so pretty," She said as she moved to smooth her dress down and sit comfortably so she could meditate.
Mariposa blushed a bit as she worked at putting away the chalks she had worked with. She felt bad they had to be used so much for something that looked pristine when she was offered to use them.
Ebony repeated the process of activating the grounding with the crystal and having perry activate the air runes. She then went about catagorizing the memories of Dawne. She was horrified as she added two new color sets for those that were accomplices to the Queen. She had to darken the color sets for those and wrote them out. So much was done since she turned 5. It made Ebony sick to have so much she had to write out. But she kept her temper as she stepped back. "I will need a moment while your little genius works on the final array," Ebony said as she took a moment and stepped out.
Silver looked at the notes, before she growled. "I will smite this bitch." She snarled.
Mariposa looked at Silver. "Is everything okay?" She asked as she took the colors for the flame runes and set them together as she prepared to set up the new array. "Maman? would you mind clearing the old array?"
Silver vanished the air array.
"Thank you Maman, do you need to take a breather?" Mariposa asked as she set down the colors she needed as she started to make the inner circle the correct colors for each part, her base.
"Yes Butterfly I do, now do not activate any Runes alone, and When i get back only Ebony and Blood Flame are to be in the room, You listen to Ebony as she will be the runes master in the room alright," Silver said as she walked out of the office after Mariposa agreed.
Mariposa sighed as she began to write in all the standard array that Ebony used. She just had a feeling she needed to have both Ebony and Blood Flame in the room before she left to check if it needed any extras for variations. She wrote out the base array then looked at the Gheyo that was leaning against the wall. "Can you get Ebony and bring her back I need her to check some things for me on this Array since its hers," Mariposa asked the man. He nodded then went to find Ebony.
Once they returned Mariposa asked the Gheyo to step into the circle and have Ebony prime them first but not activate them. Ebony hummored the girl and did as she asked. She saw the runes waiver a bit. "I thought that it might be a problem, when Maman said he was compromised I took that to mean something might be off about his magic so I need to add a few runes to deal with the flux from the unsettled title on his shoulders and other interference from other magic," Mariposa stated which shocked Ebony who nodded. "And i'll add two shielding barriers for non Fire elementals, so the office remains intact if something is triggered as the runes are thinking might happen," She finished as she got out her colors and set to do what she had said. She worked quickly adding the variance regulators and then she began the first level of shielding then once that was checked Mariposa went to the next ring of protection. Once finished and it was checked Ebony activated them from outside to the center. Ebony looked as she saw Mariposa put the last chalk away and smile before she left.
Blood Flame watched the child as she worked on the Runes and when she went to leave he was confused. "Why is she leaving this time?" he asked Ebony.
Silver entered the room again. "Alright, now. Was there a question I heard?"
"Yes why did the little runes genius have to leave this time?" Blood Flame asked once more not sure why it irked him that she left.
Silver looked at him calmly. "Do you want to have the possibility to hurt her?" She asked.
'Never!" He said a little too quickly then looked confused and shocked at himself.
Silver caught his look, before she hummed. She whispered to Ebony to look closely at each memory. "That is why she left, at my order. So that should your Magics be able to override the shielding runes then she won't get hurt."
"Fair point Lady," He said as he settled down into the meditative position most had been taking.
Ebony looked at Blood Flame. "Just try to stay calm while i do this," She said as she activated all the runes together and began the tedious task of extracting the memories. She found herself fighting for each memory she took out. She used the same color code that was already in place just added a few shades for various things she had not noticed but he had along the way. She wrote out the new colors and put that they went with their closer color siblings but these were extreme cases of what they represented. She could feel that the Blood Title Soul Seal was very very tentatively still attached as she looked through memories and finished sorting them.
Blood Flame shifted uncomfortably as his flames roared, feeling the Blood Title Soul Seal being messed with, the sparks burning away part of the array to get his memories, before the pureness of the Sacred Flame managed to sooth his soul's anger. He couldn't help a small rumble at getting just sparks of the Sacred Flame into his system, his flames lowering into a simmering ember of his enjoyment of the fire.
Ebony finished giving the better patch for Blood Title Soul Seal. She stepped back from the depowered arrays and looked at Silver. "That was more than I was anticipating, I might have over done it," Ebony said as she collapsed into a seat. She was shaking a bit as she sat there.
Blood Flame, too was shaking, no matter how much he would try to deny it.
Silver slipped out, gathering two mugs of soup, splitting a soul between them. She returned, handing both of them a mug. "Drink."
Ebony and Blood Flame both nodded and drank down the cups they had. Ebony felt the tension in her shoulders ease as she sat back more calm and soothed. Blood Flame felt less shaky as he felt some of the pain ebb off for him. Ebony finished her cup before nodding in thanks. "It was what was needed," She said softly as she saw the Gheyo also relax a bit as he finished his cup.
"You can get all those memories to Lord Arythmoor safely right?" Ebony asked worried.
Silver nodded. "I have many ways to get things to him." She carefully boxed each set of memory, before she called in Neuvillette. "My Dearest Sovereign, would you send this to Aiden?"
"I will, my Spring." Neuvillette answered, taking the boxes, and vanishing them through a warlock portal, before he left to return to the bar.
"That's good to know, We should probably go to our rooms for the night, Resting after what we just went through," Ebony said.
Silver laughed lightly. "Of course, but everyone of age should come in for a moment." She said, and after a moment Raspen, Perry, Ebony and Blood Flame were once again in the office. "Now... I'm sure you've noticed some sleep encouragement spells on your rooms, which are disengaged when the door is knocked on, along with Nightmare wards. It's just my standard practice for my Wards, to keep them on a scheduale. The younger Wards aren't told about them until they're 15 at earliest, even with an Inheritance."
"So with the rules the sleep spells are altered depending upon the occupants?" Perry asked.
"Yes, though I try to have everyone keep to the same scheduale." Silver nodded. "I might have to adjust the Twins with their Magic Sensitive nature."
"With everything thats been going on in our lives, neither of those sound like a bad thing though," Ebony said looking at the other two. "This proves someone cares about our health how many times have we each fallen asleep at the Royal Offices?" Ebony said to them making them think about what she had just seen.
Perry winced. "Too many times to count. I wouldn't mind if you kept the spells on my room."
"Agreed." Raspen nodded.
"Yup so were all keeping it, and I might still struggle with staying asleep due to Maiden habits and status but Its nice to know if i can get rest it will be monitored to avoid nightmares and that it will be encouraged," Ebony stated as she let out a breath feeling for the first time she didn't have to look over her shoulder.
Silver gave a gentle hum. "It will be just strong enough to keep you asleep until 4am, any later and it's up to your body to decide. Gheyos, however... should they be on duty, they'll still be in a meditative sleep, like a Pareya unless they're trained to sleep light and fit fully. Blood Flame, you're off Duty currently until you're cleared by Goblin Healers."
"If I'm not cleared until Ebony goes to the School?" Blood Flame asked.
"You're SOL." Silver said, not budging. "If you're not clear for Duty, you're not clear. Nothing will change my mind, baring one reason, though I'm definitely not encouraging it."
-- Day two, Day Camps, Harry PoV --
Harry looked at the group he was assigned. They had a bit of time before the presentations for the day would begin. He was curious why they separated everyone as he looked at the group before him. He noticed a trio of boys standing together that seemed to distance themselves from everyone else in the group. They each were dressed nicely and had an air about them that spoke of knowledge and entitlement. One was Blonde and seemed to hold his shoulders tightly as if daring anyone to speak to to him that he didn't invite over. The second was a taller young man with rich brown hair and and rich brown eyes. He looked like he would rather be anywhere than here right now. The third male was dark skinned and purple eyed. His clothes crisp as he watched everyone else moving around.
Harry scanned the area and saw a few more pockets of groupings but he also felt out of place a bit. He took a deep breath and walked forward to the trio he first thought about introducing himself. They were probably Heirs like himself if what he had discussed with Silver over breakfast. So he went to get closer.
"I can't wait to get to Hogwarts, we can then show people how good we are at magic already," said the blonde as the other two nodded.
"I just want to see the library, see if its as good as its proclaimed to be," The brown haired male stated as he looked bored.
"I just want to get the chance to see the legacy students and if they follow their parents footsteps," the violet eyed male said.
Harry paused just outside their gathering. They sounded more like bullies. He wondered if they would even acknowledge him.
"The only good thing is the Potter Twins are joining the school this year, after all this time they reemerge from where ever they have been hiding," the Blonde said
"Draco, you might have to curb your attitude to meet people outside our friend group," Blaise warned having noticed Harry.
"Why? Only those that can handle who we are, are worthy," Draco said.
"First impressions are only given once Draco, don't let your ego ruin potential networking opportunities," Theo warned.
Blaise glanced back to Harry. "I do agreed, Draco, and you're making a poor one."
"What do you mean? We've know each other since we were in diapers?" Draco asked.
"Why don't you turn around and see for yourself, Heir Malfoy?" Harry said calmly.
Draco whipped around, taking in the newcomer. "And you are?" The blond ponce asked, taking Harry's- while well made- muggle clothes.
"Haderic Ashwood, Heir Malfoy." Harry said.
Theo paled, as did Blaise, both knowing the connections, and sneakily bowing to Harry.
"A... decent family." Draco hummed. "I can show you the better sort to add to the Ashwood Connections."
"I think I could seek the right sort myself, Heir Malfoy, my sister even better than I, I would... temper your approach with her as her tongue is sharper than mine." Harry said, giving Draco a calm, if unamused, look. "And a suggestion, Heir Malfoy? Ask for more Heirship Classes from Lord Malfoy, as you've seemed to have forgotten a few."
Blaise snickered. "Need some ice Draco? You're looking a little.... crispy."
Theo, though smiling, refused to laugh, it was definitely worth coming when his Mentor- Ilsa- had to return to Nevarah. "I did warn you, Draco."
Draco huffed. "My father will hear about this."
"Good, then he should be able to make sure you can be reminded of lessons." Harry said, a slow smirk growing on his lips.
"Students! Please gather into your seats!" The teacher called, bringing all conversations to a halt. It wasn't long before he began the Magical Theory. "Long ago, around the time of the Founding of Hogwarts, men would excersise and it would bring their Cores greater strength, best examples of this are Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, and Merlin Emrys. Gryffindor wielding a sword, Slytherin harnessing Daggers, and Merlin's has been forgotten to time. These days, it does still hold true as Quiddich players and Aurors are the most Magically Capable, though not to the Legendary men I have listed....." The teacher drawled on until ten minutes before noon, before the two classes were reunited, being sent off so the second camp- Runes- could prepare before Lunch.
Harry smiled as they went to the lunch room and saw his sister talking with a pretty blonde haired female and seemed to be having a very animated conversation. He walked over and sat at the table. "Made a new friend Mariposa?" Harry asked. This caused the conversation to stop as she grinned and looked at him. "Yes Ric, Meet Luna Lovegood, She had decided that she would rather go to Hogwarts this year instead of waiting for next," she explained. as Luna smiled at Harry in a dreamy kind of way.
"Its nice to meet you Harry," Luna said "you seem to be quite well this time around,"
Xiao appeared behind Harry, dropping off the Twins lunches, ruffling both of their heads.
"Thanks Xiao, you hanging around to take me back to the inn?" Harry asked.
"Yes, and to braid back Mariposa's hair." Xiao muttered, his voice calm and quiet. "Silver's request."
Harry nodded. "Don't need anything going wrong, " Harry said as he saw Mariposa tilt her head.
"Alright, if Maman thinks I need it I'll try to sit still for you Xiao," Mariposa said as she saw the lunch was a sandwich and a little bit of broth. Xiao nodded and began getting started on her hair, brushing it a moment then began making two braids for her so that they were not to tight and would keep her hair pulled back and secured.
"That looks like a good idea, Might have to try it" Luna said as she ate lunch as well. "Harry, why are you not staying for the runes camp?" Luna asked curious.
"Because that is 100% Mariposa's love, I want to get some training in especially after the theory lesson we had, Physical training is essential for a strong magical core," Harry said grinning.
"Yes, physical strength can lead to a stronger core," Luna said "But don't forget to find the things you enjoy as well, Care of Magical Creatures doesn't start until next week but I think you might find it, pleasant," Luna said mysteriously.
Xiao looks at her. "If you would allow it, I can do so now."
"That would be most appreciative, Adeptus Xiao," Luna replies soft and dreamily.
Xiao freezes mid-motion. "Please keep that safely tucked away, Little Faeling." He said just as softly.
"Of course would not want the dumb bumble bee to know that we know already," Luna said smiling at him.
Xiao nodded, before he continued to get Mariposa's hair styled out of her way, clipping it up, so that what looked like a polearm-shaped hair stick held up the braids to the back of her head. "Do not pull out the hair stick, it's not a decor but a weapon."
Mariposa looked up at Xiao. "I won't unless its an emergency," Mariposa promised.
Harry smiled as he grinned at Mariposa. "Looks good on you, might need to get you into training with me one of these days," Harry said smiling as he watched some of the children also getting visitors to eat with them and others leaving. He saw the other two boys he had noticed talking earlier leaving together. They passed the table. "See you tomorrow Dean," the thick irish accented boy said as he went to catch up to his mum. "see ya Seamus, " Dean called after him as he paused beside Harry.
"Ashwood, Wanted to say wicked job shutting down Malfoy, Cant wait to see what you do next time," Dean said as he grinned. "Names Dean Thomas by the way," He offered as he held out his hand.
"Haderic, but you can call me Harry," Harry said as he grinned realization dawning on Deans face.
"Wicked, secrets safe with me," Dean said as he heard his name called and then said "See ya tomorrow," Dean said in parting.
"Appreciate it, and See you tomorrow Dean," Harry called after him.
Xiao finished up, moving quietly to Luna, starting her hair. "After I finish Luna's hair, I will take you to the gym, so that you can have a workout."
"Alright," Harry said finishing off his lunch. "I hope you two have a good time with the runes camp," Harry said to Mariposa as he watched Xiao work her hair into braids as well. Once he finished he saw Mariposa finished her lunch as well and packed up the lunch containers so Harry could take them back with him.
"We will Ric Don't worry," Mariposa said smiling. "Now go enjoy your workout," Mariposa added as she and Luna waved at Harry.
Xiao whisked Harry away to the gym, where Silver was waiting.
"Harry, Son, how was Magical Theory?" Silver asked, pulling him into a hug.
"It was nice, they did a gender specific lesson today, had to mingle a bit before the lecturer arrived," He said wrinkling his nose a bit as he hugged Silver back.
"Oh? I take it there was something that happened?" Silver asked, seeing his wrinkled nose.
"Just a blond Ponce, and....." Harry got shy a moment "I might have used your last name instead of potter," He mumbled out.
Silver hummed. "Blond Ponce?" She asked, already thinking of one, but she wanted to make sure.
"Heir Malfoy, He was acting all high like he was the Prince of the Wixen world not just a Noble of it," Harry said rolling his eyes.
Silver sighed. "He's not, that'd be whoever holds the Most Ancient and Most Royal House of Avalon, which requires all three Families of Emrys, Le Fay, and Pendragon."
"I see, I hope he isn't one of those lines, it would be a recipe for disaster," Harry said
"Now... you using my name? I'm not mad at you for it. I'm even glad you've done so. It gives you more time to explore as another face in the crowd before Hogwarts." Silver said proudly.
"I just hope he doesn't make a big deal over it when that time comes, otherwise its a burned name combination," Harry said as he blushed a bit at Silver's proudness.
"If he does, your Ward Contract covers you from the accusation of Line Theft." Silver waved off. "Oh and Dumbledor can't touch you either as I'm Magical Guardian as well." She gave him a wicked smirk. "Now, let's get you onto your Katas, here's your change of clothes."
"Alright," Harry said taking the clothes and going to get dressed in the changing room.
When Harry returned, Silver had also changed into some workout clothes, but there was also an edge of something feral in her magic. "I hope you're ready to train." She purred, before she dragged him through his paces mercilessly for 4 hours.
--Howlette's Inn, Day 2 of Camps, Night--
Silver settled into her office on the top floor, William at the other end for the Night Watch, both doors open.
William looked up at Silver and wiggled his eyebrows at his submissive, both unaware for the moment of the Twins struggle to sleep.
As Mariposa laid there in her bed. She found herself tossing and turning in her bed. She whined a little as she threw off the covers and grabbed up her sheet and shuffled out of her room. She didn't want to drag the comforter but a sheet would work well enough for now. She opened her door and thought about who to go to right now. She turned and went to Harry's door and knocked three times forehead against the door as she called to him.
"Harry?" She said not raising her voice as she waited to see if her twin was awake.
Silver, quiet as ever was slowly coming for, also curious to see if Harry would respond.
Mariposa was about to give up when the door opened and Harry caught his off balanced twin. "Posa, what's wrong?" He asked seeing her wrapped up in a sheet.
"Can't sleep, somethings off," she said as she yawned. She was clearly ready to sleep. "Want me to grab something and see if we can find somewhere to sleep?" Harry asked as he looked at his sister as he wrapped his arms around her.
"Need sleep," was all Mariposa said.
"Why don't you two come sleep with me, then." Silver spoke up, still quiet.
"Silver," Mariposa said throwing herself at her hugging her tears of frustration. Harry watched his sister working through her frustration with tears. "I don't know what changed Mum, but we both just can't sleep tonight and its not for lack of trying or exhaustion," Harry said a yawn interrupting him.
"Mmm, I know what's wrong, we'll fix it in the morning." Silver murmured, running her hand through Mariposa's hair, her eyes soft. "Let's get you settled and to sleep. I'm so proud of you both for trying."
The twins nodded as they followed Silver to the room and they crawled into the bed. They saw Zhongli sitting up reading.
"What happened my Sunlight?" Zhongli asked as he saw the twins ushered into the room and onto the bed.
"Our usual methods for our Wards are a bit much for these two." Silver murmured to him, sandwiching the twins between them.
"Ah, well then lets settle in then," He said setting his book aside, "Will watching over the others then tonight?" He asked as he saw the twins curled together Mariposa against him and Harry trying to shield her from the door.
"Yes, my Dragon." Silver murmured, reaching over to grab hold of Zhongli's hand
"Alright," Zhongli said as he took Silver's hand and let it rest comfortably across the children protectively.
Harry and Mariposa slept finally almost immediately falling asleep once everyone settled.
The two adults seamlessly followed, purring and rumbling gently.
--Howlette's Inn, Day 3, Morning--
The next morning started much earlier for the twins. It was only 6am when they felt the adults moving. Mariposa woke up heart racing a moment as she didn't recognize where she was until she saw Zhongli and Silver in the room. Harry had woken up on high alert when Mariposa shot up. "Posa?" Harry asked softly trying to get her attention.
"Ric," She answered as she moved a little closer to him and he hugged her. "It's okay were in Silver and Zhongli's room," Harry said soothingly. Mariposa nodded into his chest as she slowly felt the alertness fade along with the panic.
"Butterfly, Son, go back to sleep. It's still too early for you two to be awake." Silver told then, rubbing her head.
Harry shook his head. "Once were awake were awake," Harry said sighing. "Its the way its always been," He added as he looked at Mariposa who nodded. "Nothing good came of trying to reclaim sleep once awake," Mariposa said softly.
Silver hummed lightly. "Then go dress, we have another hour before I'll come to wake the others."
Harry and Mariposa nodded. They both thought then looked to silver. "What would be your house colors?" Harry asked.
Silver melts. "Oh my children." She purred, hugging them both. "Let's see if you have them."
Zhongli nodded. "Harry, I will see to it that you have in your clothes, while Silver tends to our Butterfly. Silver will drop you off this morning, then I will join you both for lunch, taking Harry with me."
Harry nodded. He was glad they had such great parents of choice. "Let's go see if I have the right clothes for how we want to portray at camp today." He said grinning at Zhongli.
The twins walked back together and smiled as they both stood there in beautiful clothes. Harry took in that Mariposa was wearing a Chocolate to yellow ombre Qipao that didn't cling to tightly to her body. He smiled as he saw the Dark orange crest that was embroidered on the bottom of her skirt; then had a small sash-like trailing of embroidery going up, defining a path from left hip to right shoulder that seemed to mimic dragon scales. The crest was once more repeated at her collar showing Zhongli's Crest as her Family Crest.
Zhongli rumbled proudly at their outfits, before he pulled out a smaller version of his favorite jacket, handing it to Harry. "This was to be given on your birthday, but you'll need it now to complete the look."
Harry bowed slightly as he accepted the gift. "Thank you Papa," He said smiling as he put it on and fixed the shirt cuffs to fit just right out the edge of the jacket. When Harry looked at himself standing beside Mariposa in the mirror he took in how he was an inverse of colors to her. He had chocolate brown pants on with a dark orange Button down shirt and a yellow Vest that had chocolate embroidery of scales on it. The Jacket pulled the entire outfit together as he connected the fastenings and enjoyed the look that he saw there.
"We look important," Mariposa said as she turned her hair black as Harry's. "Let's see how much we can mess with the blond ponce you met yesterday," Mariposa said "But what name should I go by? Should it be similar to yours?" Mariposa asked Harry.
"Well I did use Haderic, so, Mum any suggestions?" Harry asked as he grinned standing there watching her in the mirror.
"Adrianna Ashwood." Silver purred, enjoying the sight of her children dressed to impress. "You're such sharp dressed people. You're going to break so many hearts." She purred happily, much louder than before.
Mariposa smiled "Alright for today that will be my name, maybe we can add it to my name later?" She offered looking at Silver.
"We can certainly add it to your name, Butterfly, quite easily." Silver answered.
"That would be my Right when- or if- I adopt you." Zhongli spoke up, pleased. "You still need to discuss it, however."
"We will tonight before bed so we probably won't meditate if that's okay, " Harry suggested as he looked at their Parents.
"That's completely fine, thank you for telling us." Zhongli said. He pulled both of them into individual hugs, nuzzling their heads to scent them.
Both of them hugged Zhongli and accepted the nuzzling. "We should eat and be ready to be dropped off, you both have busy days with everyone that came back with us right? With getting them wands yes?" Harry reminded them.
Zhongli chuckled. "Yes, however we should be done by lunch, or stopping." They went down, ate breakfast, before Silver whisked them away to the Day Camp.
-- Wicked Wands, Druid's Grove --
Zhongli stepped into the shop, a box in his hands, the royals just behind him.
Nova looked up from her place behind the counter. "Ambassador Lapis, Welcome, need anything particular today?" She asked as she smiled at him knowing that he brought her the most challenges on the regular.
"Yes, these five recently had to escape their homeland, and were sent to me to protect them with my Wife, Silver. The youngest girl will be acquiring her first wand, but the others will need replacements." Zhongli started. "They have brought some items that will go into their wands, but we need the rest."
Nova grinned as she looked into the box "Oh these are nice qualities, never had fire incorperated with a wand before but It will be a lovely challenge," Nova said looking also at the Water based items. "Nor have I dealt with water as a core item either, So many lovely Challenges!" Nova said giggling like a child that won the lottery.
"Okay lets start with the new wand first as they will need more time to acquaint with the younger magical's magic signature," Nova said getting started. She walked them through the procedure. As Dawne walked along the woods she ended up with three: Larch, Willow and Pear. "Such a delicate wand, It will probably enjoy Charms," Nova commented.
As Nova set the items aside for marrying the core and woods to Dawne's signature she began next with Perry. "Okay now lets just make sure you had the right length of wood," Nova said as she measured out Perry's dominate hand. "Don't meet many left handed Wixen," Nova said as she let him loose on the woods. He also got three: Fir, Laurel, Poplar. "Interesting," Nova said as he went to the cores and picked out one of the Phoenix feathers and produced a dragon hair. She set them to meld as well then moved to the next in her line of remakes.
As she worked with Alec she wasn't sure he would ever pick his woods but it eventually became that three pelted him as if to say they were to be his and they were: Blackthorn, Cedar, Cherry. She laughed at the antics of the woods but set them with the water based cores. "Very interesting, The woods I've never seen do that, should be a wand that won't put up with your snark so be careful insulting it," Nova said as she moved to the next one the only one who had brought in one wand quality wood.
"Okay so did you want to see if any other woods resonated as well?" Nova asked Raspen.
Raspen nodded. "I feel like there'd be holes if I didn't look for more."
Nova nodded. "Alright then," She replied letting him loose on the wood samples. She saw him pick two more woods: Beech and Black Walnut. "Seems like you have a pretty special piece of English Oak here, Generational Tree?" She asked curious with the magic that flowed through the branch.
"Yes, it has been with my family for many generations." Raspen answered
"Nice, I'll try to save what I can for you to keep, Got any siblings that might need a wand?" Nova asked
"He won't be here for two years." Raspen answered, tilting his head.
"Not a problem, Anything we don't use will be given back so we can save it for his wand if you want," Nova said as she lead him to the cores. She saw him pick out Unicorn hair and she grabbed the dragon claw shavings. It was going to be a nice wand: steady and grounded.
"Alright and I saved the best for last it seems," Nova said smiling at Ebony. After she measured Ebony's hands as she was ambidextrous. She thought about it then motioned to the woods. She watched as Ebony picked out three woods as well: Red Oak, Willow, Holly. "Interesting, very interesting," Nova said as she lead her to the cores. Nova was shocked when she pulled out Veela hair to go with the spark of fire. Nodding Nova put them all to marry like the others.
"Okay, Give me two days to get them all worked out and they should be good to pick up then," Nova said.
Zhongli nodded. "Thank you for your time. Oh, and expect a visit from family soon." They had finished before Lunch, and he was pleased. He lead them back to the Inn, before he left he heard Nova reply.
"Tell Great-grandpa we'll be waiting." Nova called after them.
"I will." Zhongli replied. When the Royals were at the Inn, and the message passed along, he headed to the Day Camp.
-- Day Camp, Lunch room, --
Harry stood there watching his sister. He felt a little bad as he looked at Theo and Blaise as they watched Malfoy dig himself into a hole with his twin. He didn't know that Zhongli was behind them, listening with him.
"Why would I want to know two half bloods at most, It's not like you're important no matter how nicely you clean up," Malfoy said being dismissive of them.
"You would do well to watch your tongue, our papa is not someone to insult," Mariposa said glaring. She saw the other two trying to get their friend to Shut up and sit down.
"Why would I care about what a mudblood has to say? It's not like you can do the kind of magic purebloods can so just stop talking to me," Malfoy said.
The entire room fell silent, as a feeling of Heavy magic seeped slowly, menacingly through the room. "You would insult my Family and it's Ancient Magics?" Zhongli rumbled darkly, calling every eye to him, and his now Royal walk.
Theo paled at seeing Ambassador Lapis Pissed off. He began to think oh shit and that Draco Malfoy was going to die.
Draco looked up at the Adult and felt the magic on his shoulders pushing him down to his knees. He couldn't stop it as he whimpered a little at the weight of the magic laying on him.
"Adrianna, go stand next to your brother." Zhongli ordered.
"Yes Papa," Mariposa said as she went to stand beside Harry, who looked down at Malfoy with a glare while placing a protective arm around her shoulders. "I was not going to give him my name if that's how he was going to act," She added glaring at Malfoy as well.
Zhongli glared down at the child in front of him. "Answer me." He ordered, as his magics pressed harder.
Draco whined not sure what to say that would get him out of trouble.
Three Adults entered at a quicker pace. One called out "Ambassador Lapis! Enough, he's a child, let his Head of Family handle the insult," a stern voice cut through the near silent lunch room.
"Lady Gorgens. I would ask that you focus on your own Charge at this time." Zhongli intoned.
"I would love to but your magic is making it hard to reach said Charge," Ilsa said nodding to Theo who was sitting there pale faced.
"You may grab your Charge, and your Charge's friend. Lord Malfoy, you may come closer so that we may... handle this insult." Zhongli said, his eyes sharp and cold.
Lucius Malfoy was shocked at the power that he was feeling that was being used against his son. He saw how angry the Ambassador was and took a deep breath. It would take a lot of fine line walking to get his family line out of this trouble. He was not looking forward to what might be asked for in repentance. He would be finding out what Draco had done to cause this once they were done.
"Of course Ambassador," Lucius said as he walked closer and he watched the warrior like woman go collect Theo Nott and Blaise Zabini from the oppressive space. He was not sure what to expect right now.
Narcissa stood there hands clenched as she watched her husband approach what she could only describe as a dragon in human clothing. This would be her way to get ahold of her little Dragon and teach him the way of the Black family and how not to insult everyone around them and risk their family lines.
Zhongli's eyes returned to Draco. "Now tell your Family's Lord what you have called my Daughter, and Implied of the Most Ancient and Divine House of Ashwood-Lapis."
Draco Paled further as he heard the family title. "I....." He staggered out a bit before looking at his Father and seeing the cold Glare. "Continue son," was spoken coldly. "called her a....mudblood," He said staring at the ground.
Lucius blinked and gripped his cane. "You stupid boy, I've told you never to utter those words," Lucius said in a hiss.
Narcissa felt the air leave her lungs. She had been warning Lucius not to say those things around their child. She felt her anger rise up as she made her way over and slapping Lucius. "No You take proper responsibility its your fault he knows those words to begin with!" She hissed back to him. "Remember that if you hit him you will lose him forever!" She added reminding him of the contract that would return her and Draco to her maiden house if he ever laid a hand on their son.
Zhongli's eyes cut to Narcissa. "Lady Malfoy, I did not give you leave to approach." He said.
"It is my apology Ambassador Lapis, I did not wish there to be further misunderstanding," She said bowing her head. "I would never approach uninvited if it was not to protect my child from shouldering a blame that is not wholly his to shoulder," She explained.
Zhongli gave a short growl, low enough that those who knew, would hear it. "Return to the doorway, now that your point is made."
Narcissa remembered her lessons from being a daughter of House Black and gave a proper Chinese bow and backed away. She hoped she had saved her son some of the trouble and placed the blame wholly on Lucius' shoulders with those comments.
Lucius glared at Narcissa, she had insulted him while dealing with this while threatening him. He would deal with her later after this crisis was dealt with.
Zhongli turned back to Lucius and Draco. "Now add to that, you have called my House unimportant, as well." He let that sink in. "Yes, my hearing is that sharp to hear such from the doorway, even if you weren't quiet at all. At the barest Minimum, you would be facing a fine of two hundred thousand Galleons, and Heir retraining classes, had it been minor insult, but these and two of them? Two Million Galleons and the retraining classes for the Lord and Heir."
Lucius paled, two million Galleons was three years worth of profits if he didn't sell things off to make the money faster and he would have to go back to classes. Oh his son would get it, a loss of privileges just to start.
"two mi...million?" Draco squeaked he was not sure they could afford that. He could kiss his quidditch dreams good bye and anything else he was planning for his years at Hogwarts.
"Yes, Two Million, Heir Malfoy. I did not stutter, nor misspoke. I will, however, be gracious enough to allow a payment plan for the fine..." Zhongli started. "Provided that you both make proper apologies by Chinese standards."
"Do not take his offer lightly young Lord. Do as he asks and you will save face, reject his offer and you will face your greatest mistakes." A voice said echoing through the lunch room with a power everyone felt and could instinctually recognize.
"The Immortal Lady Magic." Zhongli greeted, bowing to her with deep respect.
The figure bowed back as it smiled to Zhongli. "Do not bow so deeply, son," Lady Magic said lightly.
"I will do so anyways, Great Mother, as I would not stand here today without Your Benevolence. It is only right to give you the Respect you deserve by Right, as an Elder of all who hold a fragment of your Domain, large or Small." Zhongli intoned, but respectfully.
"Such a sweet talker you are son, do teach my dear little ones a bit of that if you get the time," Lady Magic said as she looked down at Lucius. "You could have done better with your role in being a good model for your son to follow, now face your consequences, you insulted one of my favorite daughters when you told her not to teach what she knew so show your son what to do now and respect my son's culture," Lady Magic finished as she stood there arms crossed like a disappointed parent.
Lucius paled at the scolding he was given by Lady Magic. He could feel the disappointment radiating off of her as he grit his teeth and knelt before her and bowed to the man that she claimed was her son. How could he even face Lady Magic with the words his heir had said to someone claimed by Magic itself as its own child. "Please forgive my heir his slip of the tongue," Lucius said.
"It was not a mere slip, but your failings as both Father and Lord. However... I shalln't be cruel and hold it over him for much longer once he gives his apology." Zhongli said.
"Please forgive me, I won't use the word again," Draco said quickly which earned a sad smile from Lady Magic. She carefully moved over and touched Draco's forehead. She sorted through and took the words of hate and cruelty away from him as well as making sure he remembered that this happened. She would not let him forget such an important lesson. Once done she returned to Zhongli's side and kissed his temple.
"Let the young one up to go to his mother, he's done enough kneeling son," Lady Magic said as she stepped back hiding the twins from Lucius's gaze as he began to seek out the children that had caused this problem. "Besides he is a good way to get the guards into the castle, he is a governor for Hogwarts after all," Lady Magic informed Zhongli before she watched everything else play out.
"Heir Malfoy, you may go to your Mother." Zhongli agreed, watching the blond child scramble to the woman. "Yes, Lady Magic, thank you for allowing me the information." He turned to Lucius. "On September 1st, 5 children of varying school ages. They are of Royal Houses, sent to me and my Wife for their protection. They have also generously given my two children guards as well. That will be 40 extra bodies the be provided for.... Should you get them into the castle, with rooms and board near their charges, the cost shall count towards the fine, provided with receipts to, or from, the goblins."
Lucius couldn't believe the luck he was getting with this deal if he did everything with high quality purchases then he would be out of the fine in ten months that the children were at school. "We can see to those arrangements once we have houses for each of the Students, I would just need an update once the sorting ceremony was done so that assignments for extra quarters could be done, otherwise they would have to wait in the visitors wing until we got the houses that they were in," Lucius said smoothly.
"Then it is easily told to the caretakers of the castle to watch for the students so that they can be made at the end of the Sorting Ceremony." Zhongli said smoothly. "I do know of the House elves on staff of Hogwarts."
Lucius nodded. He would have to schedule a meeting with the Headmaster to inform him and then tell the House elves to be ready.
"However, since we have the rest of July and August before we get there. Twenty thousand Galleons for each month will be enough, prior to the Schooling." Zhongli stated. "I will leave you to your arrangements and will expect a letter for when you have completed your side of the deal."
Lucius gritted his teeth once more. "Very well, That is an acceptable arrangement," Lucius said as he tried to think of what he would have to do. He would be stopping any transactions into the Heirs vault for four months, no need to let the child that caused this get any ease of access to money that should be used to pay the fine anyways.
Zhongli nodded, his magic finally vanishing like a puff of smoke. "Good day, Lord Malfoy. Children, you won't be staying. Let's go home now."
Mariposa was shocked as she looked at Zhongli but didn't argue. She waved to Luna and motioned she would send her a letter.
Harry was shocked but understood he wouldn't want to leave Mariposa behind with all this hostility either. As they left they saw the camp directors telling everyone that the second camp was cancelled for today as the lecturers were not available for todays Runes' camp session.
Mariposa leaned into Zhongli and said "Is it safe for me to let my hair drop back to red? Im not sure how much longer i can hold it," Mariposa explained.
"Let it go, butterfly, I'm proud of you." Zhongli whispered, holding her close
Mariposa smiled as she nodded and let her hair shift back to its natural red. She smiled up at her Papa as they reached the Gates of the School and found themselves face to face with a woman that looked like an older Mariposa standing there.
Zhongli gave the woman a cold look. "Go to the Howlette's Inn. We will meet you there." He spoke coldly.
Jun looked at the little girl and blinked as she heard what Zhongli said. "Why do you have your hands on my daughter," She growled.
"Granddaughter, and this is no place to speak of this." Zhongli growled back.
Jun narrowed her eyes as she saw the protectiveness that this male had over someone connected to her. "Fine," She said simply as she stepped back and went to go to the inn he had talked about. She was not happy being told what to do by a random Alpha.
-- Howlette's Inn, Horrizont Alley, After Lunch rush--
Zhongli stormed in, Mariposa and Harry in tow, his face a cold mask. "Silver, your office with the twins."
Silver snapped to attention at his voice. "Yes, Husband." She answered quickly. "Harry, Mariposa, come along." She ushered them to her office, not fighting Zhongli when he had his voice like this.
Harry and Mariposa followed. They didn't want there to be any problems that would make Zhongli upset with them not with how cold his voice was right now.
Zhongli was waiting in the lobby, he was looking for the Alpha, Jun Evanson as she identified herself by trying to take his Daughter.
Jun stepped into the inn and looked at Zhongli. "Now explain how you have my daughter Lily," she said glaring at him not believing that it was a grand daughter.
"Come, they are in the office." Zhongli spat. "Do not push me further by disrespecting me and the Goblins."
Jun wanted to growl but if he had proof this was a grand daughter fine she would accept the proof but until she saw it she could only think that it was her little Lily blossom that she had sent to Briar.
Zhongli stomped into the office, seeing both medical files on the desk. "Good Submissive." He rumbled to Silver, earning a soft purr.
Jun entered the office not expecting to see the children again. She truly was thinking that they would have hidden them away. She saw medical files on the desk. She was confused as she looked at the couple between her and the children.
Zhongli waved his hand at the files. "Look and think of the meaning of it." He growled. "Their Third is mine, and their Uncle- a merrow- won't fight for them, because they're SAFE here, with me and Mine."
Jun looked at the files and started with one. She read through it then went to the other. She was ill thinking about the seals on the children especially the young girl. She didn't see how an inheritance would be possible at this point. She thought about what the man said about the twins being safe here. "I just don't understand, Lily should only be as old as Mariposa right now, She shouldn't be old enough to have had children already," Jun stated.
"You fucked up on who you trusted by not delivering them yourself." Zhongli spat. "It ended up with a dead daughter and two abused- at least- grandchildren."
"What about her twin Petunia?" Jun asked pale as she heard that her Lily blossom was gone from this world. She hadn't gotten to ever meet her.
"Petunia abandoned these two to my care." Silver spat. "Just so she could so-called protect them, signed them over like trophies wasting space."
Jun looked at her hands and couldn't figure out how this happened. She had one daughter that couldn't even take care of family and one that was dead. She felt her heart breaking as she also began to spiral a bit.
Mariposa began to cry. Tears were streaming down her face and she couldn't stop them. She held onto Harry as she tried to get herself under control but this was the first time she had been faced with a second empath that could make her gift flare up.
Silver turned, scooping Mariposa into her lap, purring and chirring, soothing Mariposa.
"Reign in your empathy, Evanson. I have no patience for your self-pitying heartbreak." Zhongli growled.
Jun looked at this Alpha and wanted to let her temper flare but as she watched the submissive comfort and try to calm her grandchild she did her best to pull her empathy in. She didn't have any grounding so it took her a few moments to work through a few of her self taught techniques. "Fine, I'm as calm as i can get," she said looking up at the over bearing jack ass alpha ordering her around.
Zhongli looked over to Mariposa, his little butterfly. "Butterfly?" He asked, his voice softening.
"I'm okay but can i work with one of my rune work books?" She asked wanting to get the emotions out of her system with a little meditation.
"Of course, Butterfly, go ahead and grab the one from Silver's desk that she thinks she's hid." Zhongli said, his voice gentle and warm.
Silver rolled her eyes, but pulled one out for Mariposa. "Ruin the surprise, Alpha?"
Mariposa gave Silver a hug. "It was a nice surprise anyways, I am grateful," Mariposa said as she smiled softly at her as she opened to the first page and began working through the problems. She finished three pages before her hand stopped slightly trembling as she worked.
Jun raised an eye brow. "Runes?" She asked curiously.
"Yes." Silver replied shortly.
"How can I get to know them if you horde all the information besides this?" Jun asked not happy that Silver was not giving her anything else about the implied question of why was she working with runes at such a young age.
"You dont get to know more unless THEY wish it so." Silver said, running hands through Harry and Mariposa's hair.
Harry looked at the woman before him and didn't know what to think. Blood never meant anything except to him and Mariposa, would this woman prove nice or not. Was she trust worthy or not. They were just getting to know their third and an uncle that was busy right now cleaning up one of the elemental courts because it was first the right thing to do and second because he was a man of his word and followed his oaths properly.
Silver and Zhongli both, with gentle emotions of love, care and protectiveness, let the twins decide.
Mariposa closed her book as she finished the seventh page. She was calmer now. She had zoned out for the pages she did. She looked at Harry not sure what he wanted to do.
"I think we can answer a few questions but maybe Great Grandpa can help get her up to speed?" Harry suggested to Silver and Zhongli.
"Oh I'll do one better. Why not bring that one here and let them at each other?" Silver offered, mischievously.
"I would rather enjoy that." Zhongli smirked, knowing his Chaotic Submissive.
"Who are you talking about?" Jun asked
Silver put up a privacy bubble, summoning Briar to her side.
Zhongli watched amused, as the Hellhound submissive came, smelling faintly of his pareya and plently of protective spells.
Briar spotted Harry and Mariposa, and joined the cuddle pile with them and Silver.
Jun blinked as she saw Briar appear. Her submissive why would they call her submissive. She glared at them. "Why would you bring my Submissive here?" Jun said as she glared at Zhongli.
Silver gave Briar a few moments more of cuddles, before she spoke. "Because... Alpha Evanson, you need the scolding yourself for the attempt of trying to claim my children."
Jun crossed her arms. "Excuse me for believing that the young girl was my daughter Lily, As far as i could tell she was the right age for my daughter if she had finished her time adjustment period and then returned to Nevarah time," She explained tapping her fingers against her own arm. "I could only feel a familial connection so the only ones I knew about would be my little Lily and Petunia who would be about 11 or 12 at this point." Jun stated as she looked at Silver who was trying to claim the children were hers but there couldn't be that chance she would have felt their family magics or seals. She knew Silver's magic from academy work and other jobs she had done alongside her. They didn't have her magical signature at all.
"You didn't read the full file." Zhongli said.
"I did," Jun clipped back. "Before I read the file that was what was going through my brain!" She snapped "I was informing your Submissive of the situation so she could stop making unnecessary conclusions," she said still upset.
Silver sniffed. "You seem to think that's a reassurance, or will calm me down, but then you also forget that I'm Submissive, and my instincts around children who have no family that wants them when I meet them will instantly either make them mine as a children or a potential bonded. You've seen me like this at the School." Silver reminded, having added a gentle dampener to the privacy bubble.
"Silver is also the Lady Consort of Death's Court, so we aren't getting as many hurt, young souls." Briar added. "Which, Lily and Petunia, we never got them. They never arrived in Sanctuary."
Jun paled at the knowledge that their sweet children never made it home. "I sent them by Portal, trying to send them straight to Briar." Jun said in near broken whisper.
"Did you not think that babies would be fine to send alone?! Are you a fool!?" Silver and Briar shouted in unison.
"It wasn't a normal portal.... The end should have opened to our private bedroom where our nursery is. I put them to bed, so unless someone has been in our bedroom and seen it, then rerouted it to without me knowing they should have been there!" Jun snapped back.
"Yet you didn't call out to ANYONE! You didn't check to make sure one of us-" Briar started.
"I SENT MESSAGE AFTER MESSAGE! NO ONE WAS GETTING BACK TO ME! Not even my Royal Contacts!" Jun shouted back, setting off alarms in the rest's minds that could hear. "I EVEN TRIED YOUR LADY! I keep stock of Souls, just like you've taught me, just in case I needed to make a bargain with her to get in contact with Her."
"I never received the summons, or I would have came even if it was out of a cry of a Mother like your Daughter, Lily, who sleeps in my grasp, healing from that night." The room became oppressive, saddened.
Jun wanted to keen but couldn't as she looked at Briar, "They were suppose to be growing up with you not already have had their lives and one of them cut short, I worried that Time Sickness would have affected them, making them grow at the rate I was living in for a time, I tried to check to make sure they were not suffering, our beautiful girls, they were stolen from us," Jun said trying to process enough that she didn't drown in guilt and sorrow.
"I know where one lives, but you'd not like who she has become." Silver eventually said, after a few minutes of silence.
"Best to leave her then, if she's already grown she won't inherit and no need to interrupt her life further," Jun said a bit of sorrow in her eyes.
"Not when she's abused herself with a child her own." Silver countered, having kept an eye out on Petunia.
"So what happens now then? Clearly Briar knows you have been protecting and caring for the little ones," Jun said feeling defeated now that everything was out there for everyone to know. She found a chair and filled it her frame a little deflated.
"Like it's stated in their files, their third is part of my circle. So we do have a direct parent. He knows a little of what happened that night, and.... Xiao's- Zhongli's adoptive son- told me of the flashes of nightmare he's caught, but it's not fully formed enough for us to make a good report on it, and no one will speak of that night, nor is there any clippings left from then." Silver said, sighing.
"I will not wake her. She made her deal, and she will wake in time, but not now." Lady Death said, leaving once she had said that.
Briar whined sadly, knowing that it was the best they'd get.
Silver sighed. "Jun, now that you're out of the time bubble, you'll get Time Sickness if you go back in too soon, might as well go talk to Raspen now."
"Going back to Nevarah would guarantee time sickness," Jun said looking at Silver Confused.
"Who said taking a Portal Home?" Silver snorted.
"Wait his highness is here?" Jun asked shocked.
"Yes, all of the Princes and Princesses are here. Every court except Merrow are under investigation." Silver shrugged.
"Oh joy this is going to be a paperwork nightmare for everyone," Jun said as she could feel the headache. "Might also explain why no one took my calls on the royals side of things, might have reassigned people that were waiting for updates from me and such, this was a long term mission," Jun said sighing.
Briar growled at the reminder. "It wasn't supposed to be!"
"The parameters changed after i touched down it was in the first message I sent back to you that you never got love, it was also when I set up my Time bubble to give me a bit of extra time without changing the time frame. I was suppose to be a 6 month project but once on ground It turned into a five home time year project since none of the others could keep up, I've been running solo for about...." Jun thought and was doing calculations " 8 Home months and about a years time here in my bubble," Jun finished thinking about the calculations.
Silver groaned. "Someone fucked with your bubble. You've been away from home for almost 40 years, if you're time reads right."
"40? She's been gone a decade our time." Briar asked, confused.
"Someone's fucking with His Domain..." Silver murmured.
Jun paled. 40 years out of sync with her circle no wonder her bonds felt nearly breakable. "Briar, I never would have left you for that long, I would have negoiated a break so I could come home and avoid Time sickness, I had a young male that I saved He's waiting for me to come back, He stumbled into my bubble and he was good with runes so I helped him heal up what I could and when he Inherited I waited to hear who his mentor was since Im not Qualified for mentorship due to my gift," She explained. "Taught him what I could though while we waited, he's a Shadow elemental with earth affinity," Jun listed off.
"What Rank? I might have someone who can come in and take care of most of the teachings." Silver asked, her head thinking of William's King.
"I think he started as a possible Pareya but something happened and he had to lean gheyic, He just wanted to stay safe and protect someone they called Sirius," Jun Mused. "Had to runically take several seals off his instincts after he inherited to get that much but they were still so muted," Jun finished.
Silver paused. "Sirius?" She asked, giving Jun an alarmed look.
"yes, Sirius, why?" Jun asked not having put it to being the same Sirius as in the twins file.
"There's a high chance that they're the same person, my little one's fouth's name is Sirius." Silver said.
"Well then, we need to get my tag along from the bubble then," Jun said seriously.
Silver waved her off. "I have too much paperwork to do to keep up with the mess that's coming to light. I'm going to be buried at this rate." She whined. "And no, Alpha, the last time you helped, you made it take longer." She said, seeing Zhongli's mouth open.
Jun looked at Briar. "Would you permit me a hug submissive mine?" She asked.
Briar shook his head, still a bit mad at her. "Not right now. I have to return to Our Lady's Court."
"Yes, you do, as you were Fading, Briar." Silver gave him a dark look.
Jun looked at Briar. "Oh love," Jun said as she looked at Silver. "How long will he be in your lady's court?" Jun asked "And does the rest of the circle know?"
"Oh they know... overprotective, loveable dolts." Briar sighed.
"I might try again now that I'm not in the bubble, contacting people," Jun started thinking.
"Don't." Briar and Silver said at once.
"Your timeline is fucked beyond belief, so you need to resync to here before attempting to contact anyone, Briar can let them know you're fine, alive, if a bit disoriented." Silver said.
Jun sighed. "fine, are we going to take down my bubble once we get the other occupant out along with everything we've been working on?" Jun asked.
"It'd be easier for me to just break it from here, and you force port him in." Silver waved off.
"How would you be able to do it from here? That's long distance no one normally can do such feats of magic like that," Jun said.
"Oh, it's fairly easy. I've got another title to uphold." Silver waved off, dismantling the time bubble as she spoke, a golden sand floating around her other hand. "Now.... just a twist here, and...... there."
"I had heard you or Ewan had a connection to the Time Court, I didn't know it was you." Briar blinked, sneezing at the sands floating around the room now.
Jun looked at Silver. "So you probably keep getting my bubble requests when I send them don't you?" she asked as she felt the bubble fall and gave her temporary mentee the time to gather everything up into the Void stone she had told him about for this reason.
"I do. Every request goes through me." Silver acknowledged.
Briar's eyes widened, knowing what that truly meant.
"As I keep getting them I assume my papers are always in order?" Jun asked curiously as she counted.
"Oh yeah, because you do them well, and once." Silver agreed. "But with this revelation? Don't bother trying until the application turns gold again, because this was dangerous, and could have destroyed this realm."
Jun nodded. " I was planning on taking time off after i reported to reconnect with my circle, if they will still have me," Jun said softly. "and just do short on realm commissions, nothing like this for a while, My submissive and bonded are so much more important and Royals better have a good fucking reason if they are trying to drag me out of semi vacation," Jun said sighing.
Silver huffed a laugh, before taking down the privacy bubble. "Now that the bulk of this is done... Call in your student, and we can get you both set up in rooms."
Briar looked at Silver in interest. "Can I stay to know what this mentee looks like?"
"You can stay for introductions, but afterwards you will return and let your circle know, then you will return to Our Lady's Court and stay there for a while longer." Silver relented. "Harry, Mariposa, it's up to you if you want to get to know Jun now or later, or even never, but I want you to honestly think about it first."
Jun summoned her student and a young man of 20 years of age stood there dark black hair shoulder length, sliver grey eyes and a noble air about him stood there waiting.
"Ah Regulus, got everything stored away?" Jun asked
"Yes teacher, I made sure I did as you instructed for the possibility of the bubble collapsing." Regulus said.
"It didn't collapse, it was taken down, young Regulus." Silver gently corrected.
"Now, what is your full name, young one?" Zhongli asked, having been quietly standing there, his anger getting the chance to sooth out, and his calm to return from a meditation he was working through.
"How rude of me," Regulus he said bowing to everyone in the room. "I am Regulus Arcturus Black, a pleasure to meet you," Regulus said with his refined manners.
Silver and Zhongli exchanged glances. "Is your brother Sirius Orion Black?" Zhongli asked.
Briar knew it was time to go, so he sneakily gave Mariposa and Harry hugs before he left.
"If he claims me yes, if he is still angry and bitter about my not having a choice in what was going on who knows," Regulus said.
Zhongli grumbled as he saw that spark in Silver's eyes. "I'll go talk with Tonks..." He sighed.
Silver chirred in happiness when she heard him, looking at the twins. "Why don't you two go up and send Raspen down so that Jun can chat with him?"
Mariposa and Harry nodded and it was a few minutes before Raspen came down to Silver's office. He knocked and entered when Silver bid him enter. He looked at the occupants and saw Jun sitting there with a young gentleman beside her.
Raspen knew it'd be a working call down when he saw Jun. "Alpha Evanson." He greeted. "I'm glad you're healthy." He greeted.
"I wasn't expecting to find you here on this realm, Crown Prince," Jun said "But still glad of your continued health," Jun added in greeting. "I am afraid I will have to bother you in a more offical capacity if you don't mind taking my report," Jun said as she watched the crown prince.
"Silver, Zhongli, may I have the room?" Raspen asked nicely.
"Of course, Raspen, the privacy ward will be up after we close the door." Silver said, Zhongli already out of the door.
-- Howlette's Inn, July 31st --
Silver quietly knock on every door, except for the twins. "Come on, before they wake." She whispered, making sure everyone had a chance to grab the presents that they shopped for. The group went into the small party room in the back, which had been closed off for the day.
Harry smiled as he walked over to Mariposa's room. He knew she never kept it locked on her side. He walked over and sat on the bed side. He had a wrapped package as he looked at his sister who was slowly waking up. "Morning sleepy head," Harry said laughing a bit. "Morning Ric," Mariposa said yawning a little. "Happy birthday" They said to each other at the same time which allowed them both to laugh.
"What do you have there?" Mariposa asked as she looked at her twins hands. "Oh this, just a little present, but i doubt you would want it," Harry said as he played keep away a bit until Mariposa got ahold of the present. "Ric you know I love gifts the few we actually get," Mariposa said. "Besides yours is hidden in my bookshelf," she said sticking her tongue out.
Harry laughed and went to find the wrapped present. When he returned with the wrapped item he sat on the bed with her and asked. "Should we wait for them to witness the presents or should we just open them?" Harry asked.
"I don't know," Mariposa said as she looked up at her twin. They were finally eleven years old but they didn't know if opening their presents alone they had for each other was acceptable or now. "Lets get dressed for the day, then we can come back and open them if no one comes to get us okay?" Mariposa suggested. Harry nodded. "Lets put on the house colors then since I think we made our mind up on Zhongli yes?" Harry added. Mariposa nodded. She smiled happily as she went to her closet and pulled out the dress. It was her favorite dress to get out when she could. It didn't take the twins long to be dressed and standing in Mariposa's room again holding their presents.
Silver knocked on the doors when they were dressed. "Harry, Mariposa, there's something for you two downstairs."
The twins were shocked as they left Mariposa's room. "What is it?" They asked confused not sure what was going on.
"Come down and I'll show you." Silver chirped, pleased.
The twins shrugged as they brought their gifts for each other and continued their way down stairs. They were not sure what to expect but were interested. "Silver what are you being so secretive about?" Mariposa asked.
"No 'Maman'?" Silver mock pouted, leading them to the party room doors, which were now closed. "It's in here, Butterfly, Son. Open the door!"
"Maman is for when you are not acting odd," Mariposa teased. As they were told to open the door.
Harry shook his head as he grabbed one of the door handles and Mariposa the other and they slid them open.
"SURPRISE!!!" Everyone shouted, the lights turning up to show the room decorated for them.
Mariposa was shocked and her hair went white. Same with Harry they had not expected this but they should have as everyone had been acting odd the last week.
"So, is this good? We wanted to surprise you with the party." Silver said, sliding the door shut behind them. "Happy Birthday, Harry, Mariposa."
The Twins nodded as they turned and hugged Silver. "This was unexpected but we're happy," They both said their hair slowly shifting towards the sunshine yellow they let out around their family.
"Why don't we start with presents?" Silver said. "Then we can enjoy breakfast."
Mariposa laughed as she shook her head. "Maman," she said fondly as she found her seat at the table.
Harry shook his head as well but hugged Silver once more before taking his seat. "We really don't know what the proper way to do this is," Harry admitted.
"As long as it's Legal, the day is yours." Zhongli chuckled. "Silver just wanted to surprise you both with the Party first thing."
Silver mock pouted at Zhongli. "Ruin my fun...."
Alec snorted. "You woke us up at 5am." He snarked.
"But would you have done anything differently?" Mariposa asked as he snarked out at her maman. Mariposa smiled softly at Alec.
Alec said nothing, shoving his gift for her into her hands. He had a slight blush on his face.
Mariposa laughed lightly as she smiled brightly at Alec. "Thank you for your gift," She said as she began to open it to see what he had gotten her. She opened it to find a shell Necklace. She smiled as she pulled it out and saw that it was a rainbow shell. "It's beautiful," Mariposa said as she looked at Alec and pulled her hair forward so that he could help her securely put the necklace on.
Alec gave a happy sound, helping her put the necklace on before kissing her head, hiding his even brighter blush in her hair. He passed his gift for Harry to the birthday boy.
Harry took the gift and opened it to find a lovely midnight blue shell dagger sitting there. "Wicked, I'll have to learn how to handle it thanks Alec," Harry said
Silver handed Harry her gift of a voucher. "That is for your Familiar's care products, Mariposa has one as well."
"Oh wow, Thanks Mum," Harry said as he said as he looked it over. He was shocked. They still had to take the trip to pick their Familiars still. He couldn't wait to get the chance to do so with Mariposa soon.
Silver smiled smugly as Zhongli stepped forward. "Now it is time for my gift." He said, pulling out two vials of potion that shimmered like gold. "These are the potions, should you choose to take on my bloodline, that would replace or add me as a Father. You need only to Speak your wish into the potion. However..." He paused for a moment, leveling them with a stern look. "You do have to be aware that you'd have some changes that WILL occur that will vary from person to person. I will explain why in private with the two of you."
Mariposa and Harry both were shocked as they looked at the potion. They both stood up and hugged Zhongli. "We love you papa li," the twins said into his chest as they hugged him as tightly as they could.
Krymsen stepped forward, a small box in his hands. "Remember the pearls you both recieved, but haven't gotten the Earrings of yet?" He asked. "Happy Birthday, and Welcome Home, little Angelfish, Little Lionfish, Children of the Monse Clan."
Mariposa was shocked as she looked at Krymsen and smiled as she moved to hug him. Harry took the box to let Krymsen have his hands free. Harry looked to Zhongli and Silver and asked "Can we get our ears pierced today so we can wear them?"
Krymsen hugged Mariposa tightly, showing her that he loved her so much.
"Of course, if both of you sit down I can do it now." Silver said, smiling brightly.
"I, along with Lady Magic, have a temporary gift for you. For today, you will have your parents." Lady Death materialized, two golems forming on the ground in front of her. "I will reclaim their souls at 9pm, so make your time count." With that, she dropped two glowing balls into the golems at her feet.
Harry and Mariposa were shocked as they saw their parents standing up. They felt tears in their eyes as they looked at Lady Death and bowed deeply. "we are honored for this gift and are very grateful, Thank you Lady immortals," they said in sync as they went to their parents and hugged them so very tightly.
"Prongslet, Butterfly," James Potter whispered, hugging them tightly.
"My children, oh my babies!" Lily Potter sobbed, relief and joy swirling around in equaling parts.
"Mum," Mariposa said tears flowing freely. "We miss you so much," Mariposa she said as She looked at Harry in James' arms.
Harry looked at James and saw the man that he had never known but had given his life for him. He smiled then said "I see why people say I look a lot like you Dad," Harry said finally finding his voice. "And Mom is as beautiful as an Angel," Harry said as he noted how close to Mariposa she looked.
James laughed wetly. "Yeah, I fell for her on the ride of our first year, even with her sitting with Snape."
"You were a Prat." Lily laughed. "Though you did grow up."
Harry and Mariposa wanted to ask questions but they didn't know where to start.
"Now... Where's Padfoot, that crazy mutt?" James asked.
"Padfoot?" Silver asked confused.
"Sirius Black."
"Black has been sent to Azkaban for his betrayal of you and the murder of twelve no-maj." Zhongli said, breaking the news.
James looked at Zhongli. "But he didn't betray us he couldn't not being the twins Godfather, that oath would have struck him down in place if he betrayed protecting and ensuring they grew up happy and loved," James explained "Our betrayer was Peter Pettigrew, Wormtail, the actual Rat of the group!" James explained.
"Do you have it written down somewhere?" Zhongli asked, calmly. "Beyond your Wills, as those are Sealed for some odd reason."
"My Journal which should be in the family vault," Lily said. "I wrote everything down while we were in hiding just to document our time as a family, how often we were visited and who visited," Lily added.
Silver hummed. "That might be available to us, but the Twins will need to come with us."
Zhongli hummed. "We can save it for another day. A Logbook would be a good piece of evidence."
The Twins looked at Lily and James as they moved them to sit with them while they went to work on receiving the other gifts they had waiting for them.
The day wore on a bit, full of fun, piercings and chatting. Silver even glamoured the Potters, taking the Twins for their Familiars.
Silver opened the door to Magnificent Menagerie, leading her group in.
Mariposa walked in along with Harry. Each holding the hands of one of their parents and their chosen parents. It was easy to be overwhelmed when you walked into the Magnificent Menagerie as every wall was covered with cages and supplies. It was easy to see how the rare species had special requirements as each enclosure was unique.
As the twins just took everything in a single bird flew over and settled itself on Mariposa's head. It carefully ruffled its black blue feathers and settled in her hair softly as it groomed her.
Harry smiled as he saw Mariposa getting claimed by a raven type bird. He smiled as he looked across all cages and tried to find the one that called to him as he walked with his mom. He looked at familiar after familiar until he found himself in the feline section. He saw a small black kitten with gold eyes looking at him. Harry could feel that they wanted him to get close. "I think I might have found my familiar," Harry stated as he reached a hand out and the kitten nuzzled into his hand and then flopped into his open hand.
Silver nodded, purring subaudibly. "Good, then we can get these two checked out and you two can start bonding with them." She said.
"It looks like a Sable Snow Leopard, kiddo." James murmured.
"I know what the Raven is." Zhongli said, but offered nothing else. "However it can wait until we return to the Inn."
Mariposa smiled as she looked at Harry's familiar and thought it was so cute. "Such a cute little kitten, She will be your best friend," Mariposa said smiling up at Harry as he cuddled the Kitten close again.
"Yeah and your Raven would be just the same for you, free with wings," Harry said smiling to Mariposa.
James and Lily smiled to each other, proud that they were able to see this, but the tinge of sadness grew slowly, as they knew time was ticking away. "Kiddos, we have a few more things to make sure of before we go."
Mariposa and Harry Nodded and each grabbed a pair of Parents. Harry took James and Silver while Mariposa took Lily and Zhongli. They had their familiars with them and walked back to the inn.
When they returned to the Inn, the twins were sent upstairs to put their supplies away, and to start talking, and Naming their Familiars while the Adults chatted, setting up a few things, making plans. All too soon it was close to nine in the evening. Lily and James entered each room, the partition door wide open so that they could say goodnight to both. "We love you both so much." Lily whispered to Harry, tucking him in. "We are always in your Heart, so don't think that we are ever too far, Harry, my baby boy."
In Mariposa's room James tucked her in. "You may have not been born of my blood, but you're still a Potter in every way that matters to me. I love you, little Butterfly." James said, not very loud, but completely honest.
Mariposa Hugged James. "Thank you dad," She said to him as she settled back once more. "I'll miss you, please watch over us if you can," she said teary eyed.
Harry hugged Lily. "Thank you for everything, Thank you for taking Mariposa in and letting me gain my twin," Harry said softly. "I wish we had more time," Harry said as he laid down listening to what Lily had said.
"Oh, baby... Our Lady isn't the end, but a rest stop." Lily said, before she stood. "Now I have just enough time to say good night to your twin, and James to get in here to say good night to you. Then it's your choice on the Potion, we both would be proud to add Zhongli's bloodline to our family."
The two adults switched, saying good night to the other child, pride in their eyes as the twins held the potion, Zhongli coming up behind them. "Before you take those, I must speak of two things. One, That is Divine Blood, so you will need to state the limits of it's influence. Two, I'm not Dragel for all I act such, I'm a Dragon-Quinlin at my core, so I'm not Human, no matter how skilled I am. I'm also very old, almost seven thousand years old."
The twins looked at him a little shocked. It was a lot of power in these bottles. The twins were also shocked at how old he was. "So we could live a lot longer lives due to you becoming part of our parentage?" Mariposa asked. "And our physical makeup might change once its done?" Harry asked.
"Yes, and Yes, even beyond that of Fae, as most Fae tend to get to thirty thousand years, but if you're careful you could live even past that." Zhongli said, giving them a soft smile. "I will walk with you every step of the way, and if you need the help and I can't then Xiao WILL." He stopped, before he remembered that he hasn't said his true name to them. "Ah, and when you state your intended effects, my Name is Morax, not Zhongli. Godly Names and such."
The twins nodded. As they sat there they looked at the bottle. "we have to be very careful how we say this or we will lose James," Mariposa said as she bit her lip. Harry nodded.
"I know that I want to replace my Sire Vernon Dursley with James Potter and Morax," Mariposa said as she looked at the potion watching it as it shimmered and glowed in response. Mariposa nodded to Harry letting him know it was his turn.
"I want to add Morax as a second Sire to be there alongside James Potter," Harry said and noticed his potion shimmered and glowed as well. Both twins kept eye contact and took their potions. They drank them down without spilling a drop. Once the bottles were empty they set them aside as they settled back down, Dizziness overcoming them.
Once they had drank them, and settled back, the three adults tucking them back in, kissing their foreheads. James and Lily felt the call of Lady Death, and sighed, welcoming her touch as old friends. The golems vanished into rainbow dust that was swept away in a soft refreshing breeze, the two souls collected into skeletal hands.
