Gamer?

Harry groans as he wakes up, his body aches in a way that only living with the Dursleys can accomplish.

Blinking dust and grit from his eyes, he sits up forgetting about the low ceiling and bangs his head. He winces, more at the sound than the pain before blindly looking for his glasses. He groans as pain shoots through his shoulder but continues to look, feeling around in the dark. He soon comes across them and puts them on.

When he has them on, a weird blue transparent display floats in front of him. It has words and is glowing, yet it does not light up the room. Frowning he reads the display.

Congratulations on Becoming a New Gamer!
Welcome Hadrian Lilian Potter-Black!

Hadrian? Lilian? Potter-Black? Was that really his name? Harry is not unaccustomed to not knowing his name but the thought he had it when he learned his name was Harry James Potter... now he is not sure... if this source can be trusted, and that's a big if, then he was lied to more than he though and if that's true, what else about him is a lie?

Is this the gift that Death talked about? If it is then it's trustworthy... Harry ponders on it for a few more seconds before putting it in the back of his mind for now, he still had to read the rest of the display.

Harry doesn't know what a Gamer is or what game it wants him to play. There is no rules so he decides to got to settings, maybe it can explain what it means. Reaching out he taps on settings, gasping when he hits a solid surface. The display ripples away and another one takes it's place.

Harry eyes widen at the list of settings that show up. He feels slightly overwhelmed, and intimidated by the unknow options. He re-reads the list a few times before reaching out and clicking the first option.

[Difficulty]
Difficulty: Set to Hard
{Super Easy} {Easy} {Normal} {Hard} {Nightmare} {Customize}

Harry frowned at the difficulty. He wasn't sure what this was but he knew he didn't want to play on hard. Shrugging he taps the {Customize} button, hoping it will explain better.

Customize Selected!

Harry stares mouth agape as hundreds of options fill the display. He greedily reads over all of them and is shocked by the conclusion he comes to... it had to be impossible right? But then he thinks about who made this gift... If he is capable of magic, then shouldn't three deity's be able to create something like this? It almost feels unreal but Harry feels it in his soul that he guessed correctly.

Gamer, game... he somehow is living in the real world with the ability of a game. Harry isn't sure how this works, he barely understands how video games work. Only knowing about them because Dudley would make him watch him play while teasing him that he would never get to... jokes on Dudley, he has something a thousand times better.

Harry with a new few of the options looks through the settings. He picks things he knows he wants. Leaving some that look cool but didn't really apply to his situation. He could only pick ten so he was careful and thought about every single one.

Difficulty! [10/10]
🪄 Health & Mana regenerates much faster! [Super Easy]
🪄 Stamina Bar removed [Super Easy]
🪄 Gamer has an affinity for Wandless and Wordless Magic! [Super Easy]
🪄 Rare Ingredients in Crafting cost less! [Super Easy]
🪄 (Automatic) Common Ingredients cost more! [Hard]
🪄 Friendships level up at average speed! [Normal]
🪄 Skills level up at a faster speed! [Easy]
🪄 (Automatic) Skills have Tiers! [Hard]
🪄 Creatures are More friendly to the Gamer! [Easy]
🪄 Floo Points are added to the world! [Super Easy]

Are You Happy With Customize Mode?
[YES] [NO] [CHANGE]

[Unable to Cancel Action!]

Harry felt disappointed that there was automatics added, and they counted but was overall happy. Which was good since he can't change it. Tapping on [YES], he goes back to the main settings and clicks on [Auto Save].

[Auto Save]
Auto-Save: Auto-save when you sleep, enter a dungeon, and when you level up
{Disabled} {Enabled} {Customize}

Again he clicks on {Customize}, wondering what options he had. He was surprised that he could only pick four but there weren't as many options as there were with Difficulty.

Customize Selected!

Harry was stumped when he realised that it actually save in real life situations. Did this mean he could save a point in his life and return to it? Was this a type of time travel? Time did help create this so he probably should be too shocked.

Shaking his head, he looked through the list again with a new viewpoint. Reading everything he could about the options and what they meant. He was careful to click on one, making sure he was happy with it before deciding on it, encase he got another automatic.

Auto Save! [4/4]
🪄 Save when you sleep in your bed!
🪄 Save when you sleep at a waypoint!
🪄 Save when Entering and Exiting a Dungeon!
🪄 Keep a 24hr Backup!

Harry was delighted when he didn't get an automatic, being able to choose all the ones he wanted. Smiling,  he returned to settings and then moved on to [In-Game Menu]

[In-Game Menu]
In-Game Menu: Allows you to view the menu anytime, Time freezes until the menu is closed
{Disabled} {Enabled} {Customize}

Time freezes? Was it frozen now? Harry tried to listen for Uncle Vernon's snoring but it there isn't any. Confused he listens for thundering footsteps or screeching but the house is silent. Far to silent.

Presuming that time is frozen, and isn't that weird, he clicks on {Customize}

Customize Selected!

Harry sighs at the small list, not exactly surprised but a little disappointed. He grateful but if the lists keep getting smaller, he won't have many options. Now that he got a taste for choosing for himself, picking what he wanted... it was nice and he didn't plan of giving it up.

With that in mind, he picked the two that he wanted, an automatic taking the third slot.

In-Game Menu! [3/3]
🪄 World Freezes when you Pause!
🪄 You can interact wit what you are holding!
🪄 (Automatic) Cannot interact with world!

Harry frowned at the automatic but shrugged his shoulders, there wasn't anything he could do about it now. Going back to the main menu? He clicks on the next setting [Auto Loot]

[Auto Loot]
Auto Loot: Collects loot automatically
{Disabled} {Enabled} {Customize}

Harry remembers Dudley complaining about having to get loot in some games when it was automatic in others. He was happy he was given the option but was slightly confused that there was a customize button. Still he clicked on it hoping it would have some cool options.

Customize Selected!

Yeah, it had a lot of cool options! Harry was amazed with all the options, sadly he could only pick five but it was more then the last few settings so he was happy.

Auto Loot! [5/5]
🪄 Auto Loot automatically goes into inventory
🪄 Auto Loot automatically harvests, skins, cleans, and preps!
🪄 Auto Loot scraps if it has a tag called "Scrap"
🪄 Auto Loot will only keep a certain amount when the tag "Max" is used
🪄 Auto Loot sorts by rarity

Harry carefully read each option, picking what he thought would benefit him most. He smiled when he didn't get any automatics.

Happy he accepted the list of options and moved on to the next setting [Permadeath]

[Permadeath]
Permadeath: When enabled, Gamer only has one life!
{Disabled} {Enabled}

Harry read it over a few times... e was already immortal.. would this just mean he had to start over if he died? His eyebrows furrowed in confusion but he still reached out and tapped on {Disabled}

Disabled Selected!

Sighing, he went back to the main settings menu and clicked on the next setting, [HUD].

[HUD]
HUD: Shows stats!
{Disabled} {Enabled} {Customize}

Harry was confused by the hud, he sort of remembered stats but he wasn't sure. Clicking on {Customize}, he hoped to learn more about it.

Customize Selected!

Harry watched amazed as his vision changed, stats he now remembered where health, mana and stamina... things like maps and buffs and debuffs were shown. It was a little crowded. Harry reached out and clicked on one, surprised when a few options came up.

Harry was delighted that he could change the size, colour and transparency of the icons. He looked further in the options before he changed anything else.

HUD! [10/10]
🪄 Health and Mana are displayed in the top right corner
🪄 Health and Mana are displayed as bars
🪄 Health and Mana are at 75% Transparency
🪄 Debuffs are shown at the bottom left corner
🪄 Debuffs are symbols (Pause and focus on the symbol to learn more about it)
🪄 Buffs are shown at the bottom right corner
🪄 Buffs are symbols (Pause and focus on the symbol to learn more about it)
🪄 Underwater bar is invisible until in water (does not show unless you are underwater)
🪄 Underwater bar is in the middle bottom-centered
🪄 Level is on top of Health bar

Wonder filled Harry as he spent ages changing the size, colour and transparency every icon, showing hidden ones until he was finished.

He went with a green and silver theme, thinking it was very Slytherin of him. He had always like green but Ron hated it because he associated it with Slytherins. Harry not wanting to disappoint his first human friend went along with it, sadly leaving the colour behind. Just like everything else he loved or valued.

When he was done with the HUD he moved on to the next setting [Inventory].

[Inventory]
Inventory: Lets you store things in a dimension pocket!
{Disabled} {Enabled} {Customize}

Harry knew what a dimension pocket was, he learned about it from Hermione. A wizard tried to create a dimensional pocket but ended up creating what is now known as wizard space. Things that are enchanted to hold more than they should. Like Hermione's little beaded bag. Merlin that thing came in handy.

Looking back at the setting Harry tapped on {Customize}.

Customize Selected!

There were a tone of options to choose from and he could pick up to ten! Harry laughed in joy as he selected amazing options. Things that he doesn't even think the wizarding world could do.

Inventory Settings! [10/10]
🪄 Inventory automatically sorts Loot once it has been categorised
🪄 Inventory is infinite
🪄 Items stack to 9999
🪄 Inventory has stasis
🪄 Inventory can store Live Beings
🪄 Inventory automatically harvests items that are tagged
🪄 Inventory is sorted by Categories and Tags
🪄 Inventory has special Tags such as "Scrap" and "Max"
🪄 Inventory has a Scrapping command
🪄 Scrapping Items teaches you the recipe or adds it to the shop

Harry was beyond happy with his choices and not one automatic! Smiling he accepted the setting and moved on to [Mini Map]

[Mini Map]
Mini Map: Provides a map of the world that can be seen at any time!
{Disabled} {Enabled} {Customize}

Still overcome with joy at the inventory setting he smiled as he picked {Customize}

Customize Selected!

Harry looked over the options, carefully picking his options.

Mini Map! [8/8]
🪄 Mini map is displayed in the Bottom left corner
🪄 Mini map only shows places you have been
🪄 Mini map saves locations
🪄 Mini map shows inside buildings
🪄 Mini map displays friend's locations
🪄 Mini map has a compass
🪄 Mini map allows zoom
🪄 Mini map tells the time

The map was a little like the Marauders map, it wasn't as good as it but it did everywhere instead of just Hogwarts. Harry was happy with it. Saving the setting he moves on to [Impact Marks].

[Impact Marks]
Impact Marks: Allows the gamer to have marks so that others don't question them!
{Disabled} {Enabled} {Customize}

Harry picks {Customize}, wondering what options will be available.

Customize Selected!

Impact Marks! [4/4]
🪄 Only show non-fatal Marks
🪄 Boss injuries don't show
🪄 Bruises and Cuts heal 25% faster
🪄 Nothing scars

Harry knew Bosses were dangerous, Dudley hardly ever got past them, he didn't want those kind of injuries showing. There was a option for bruises and cuts to heal faster but he didn't want people questioning him.

[Party Settings]
Party Settings: Add allies to a Party were they get a mini gamer system!
{Disabled} {Enabled} {Customize}

Harry was surprised that he could tell people about his ability, that the system, would allow it.

Customize Selected!

Harry looked through the options, confused on what an NPC was for a while before he figured it out, he thinks...

Party Settings! [7/7]
🪄 NPCs & Characters need friend status to be invited to a Party
🪄 NPCs & Characters can see their stats, skills, and quests.
🪄 Only Gamer can send out Invites
🪄 Any harm done to the Gamer will result in an automatic Kick
🪄 Gamer has the option to Invite, Promote, Demote, Kick, Ban
🪄 Parties and Gamer have a live chat room and a mailing system
🪄 20% of all experience goes to a group chest

Happy with his options he moves on to the next setting.

Workshop              | ☒On ☐Off |
Potions                  | ☒On ☐Off |
Miscellaneous        | ☒On ☐Off |

Harry was confused by the crafting, they were all turned off but he turned them on. Did they mean he would be able to craft things that you could do in each of the rooms in his crafting menu? Did he have a crafting menu? Shaking his head he moves on to the next setting.

[Game settings]

Mods                      | ☒On ☐Off

Import/Export       | ☒On ☐Off |

Harry messed around with the game settings for a while, changing the brightness, shadows and vibration to his liking. He didn't touch graphics in fear of what the world would look like, though he was tempted. He left the rest of the settings at default.

[Player Settings]
Take from health when mana is empty?     | On ☐Off |
Sprint View Shake                                      | 〚-|--------------------------〛 |

Ragdolls                                                     | ☐Low ☒Medium ☐High |

Player settings were much the same as game settings in terms of how Harry went about it. He turned on health from man. He didn't really like sprint view shake so turned it down a lot. He left the rest and moved on to [Display].

[Display]
Notifications In Battle?        | ☐On ☒Off ☐Custom |
Crosshair                            | ☐On ☐Off ☒Custom |
Item Durability                    | ☐On ☐Off ☒Custom |

Display had bearly anything but it did have custom. Harry turned off notifications in battle, that was just asking to die. He clicked on custom for the crosshair.

[Crosshair]
Crosshair: Used for aiming!

Crosshair! [3/3]
🪄 Crosshair is a simple dot!
🪄 Crosshair is inverted!
🪄 Crosshair only enables when aiming!

He could only pick three but was happy with them, especially the inverted, that changed its colour from black to white depending on what colour it landed on. Done, he moved to the next one.

[Item Durability]
Item Durability: Shows the durability of you armour and tools!

Item Durability! [3/3]
🪄 Shows Item Durability when it reaches 25%!
🪄 Gives a warning at 10%!
🪄 Notifies when Item is Broken!

Again had little options but was happy with them all the same.

Footsteps                    | 〚-------------------|--------〛|
Voice                           | 〚-----------------------|----〛 |

Harry turned on music and playlists, messed around with the volumes making footsteps just a little louder so he could hear people coming up to him.

[Options]

He didn't touch anything in options, happy with all the settings. Although he felt like facepalming when he realised he could talk or think what he wanted instead of tapping on them.

Harry definitely wanted that!

Harry nearly pissed himself when the door started rattling with loud bangs, his Aunts voice screeching at him.
