Railways rendezvous
The first of September had rolled around like a storm cloud, something predictable but still somehow frightening.
Euphemia was the most reluctant to allow her daughter out of her sight - most likely worried for her as her nature was relatively incompetent - and as such had insisted on walking her all the way to the platform.
The platform itself was bustling with life, students from all walks of life gathered in the masses as they bid goodbye to their respective families for the first half of the next year.
James himself had ran off, his twelve year old mind not able to comprehend the emotional turmoil his parents would be facing, and intended to find his friends. “Bye mum! By dad!” The boy forced the words out in an order which probably wasn’t correct but he assumed close enough before bolting onto the train and visibly running down the corridor and checking each carriage to find his mates.
As Diana was about to haul herself and her luggage onto the train she was embraced from behind by her mother whilst her father stood to the side and tried to hide the small, prideful smile which crept up his aging features.
“Good look dearest” Euphemia whispered, pressing a soft palm to the side of Diana’s head before ushering her into the train. The train itself was horrifying. Not in the traditional sense but in the sense that there were millions - well maybe not millions - of students all rushing past to get to their friends.
That’s when a pair of hands grabbed her shoulders and dragged her into a carriage.
“There she is!” James cheered, ushering the girl to stand awkwardly beside him. Seated in the carriage were his friends who all donned the same Gryffindor robes - one with caramel coloured, rather short hair and a scar covered face, one boy who was somewhat more plump than the others, nose buried into a box of every flavour beans as he mindlessly waved not entirely acknowledging the girls presence.
“Di- these are my mates!” James pointed to the boy with the scars first “that’s moony” and then to the boy who was scarfing down sweets no matter the flavour, in fact she even saw him demolish a vomit flavoured bean “and wormtail”
Diana simply nodded. Both out of sheer nervousness and also the fact that she did not believe these boys would care about meeting her in the slightest.
Another boy then cleared his throat, and James and Diana were ushered out of the way and further into the compartment.
The boy who had alerted them to his presence made himself known, he had relatively long, unkempt dark hair with a set of piercing grey eyes and a rather cheesy grin plastered over his face.
“Pads!” James practically roared in excitement, bringing the boy in to an embrace and clapping him on the back harshly.
“Good to see you prongs” the other boy retaliated. However he wasn’t alone.
There was another boy, who was unmistakably a relative. The same dark hair, although this time it was shorter and more well kept. Whilst ‘pad’s’ features had been airy and joyful, the younger boy’s features were sharper and his eyes were more downturned, although the same silver colour.
“And this is?” James inquired, grip still tight around his sisters shoulder.
“This is Reggie” the older boy smiled toothily, although the younger boy did not seem pleased by this “please Sirius. My name is Regulus, surely you’ve saved enough brain cells to remember that.” The words were punctuated with a roll of the eyes and a folding of his arms.
The three other boys in the room grimaced at the sharp tone used on their friend, but decided to leave the siblings to quarrel in their own time. James - always the optimistic - however, had decided to break the ice.
“Di, Reggi-ulus” he corrected himself “why dont you two go sit together? Next generation of marauders am I right!” He cheered, and ‘wormtail’ cheered with him, a few Bertie bots falling out of his mouth.
With that the two were pushed out of the carriage and into the hallway, with the boy simply walking into a carriage down the hallway, and Diana aimlessly following him.

Once the boy had found a suitable carriage and slid his luggage under the seats and sat there in silence, with Diana sat opposite him. Despite the fact that it was silent, it was not awkward in the slightest. Until a rather loud noise disrupted them.
“REGGIE!” A rather high pitched voice squealed at the top of its lungs, and in walked the most colourful sight Diana had ever witnessed.
It was a girl. She was maybe four foot five with a head of long blonde hair and tan skin. She had piercing blue eyes and was decked out in a vibrant outfit consisting of greens and gold. Even though she was presumably a first year she looked glamorous, wearing a pair of bright pink sparkly platforms which definitely contrasted the rest of her outfit.
“Lilith- please don’t call me that” the boy exhaled dramatically, shuffling closer to the widow and away from the girl who plonked herself down right next to him.
“Oh- who’s this?” The girls smile stretched ear to ear as she waved at Diana. Regulus shrugged, clearly embarrassed that he had forgotten her name. However the girl looked at Diana enthusiastically.
Diana didn’t respond, clearly waiting for a cue to speak, however the blonde didn’t understand this. “Well? What’s your name?” She pushed.
Diana tilted her head to the side and blinked, realising she was being asked something “oh. I’m Diana” she responded flatly.
“Well hello Diana! I’m Lilith!” She smiled widely. Little did Diana know, she had just met two people who would alter the course of her life.
