You're Worth More Than All Your Riches
Note
Based on a Pintrest fic I saw and had to write my own take on. Also I realized I can write apologies but I struggle to write someone forgiving someone else and instead brush it off or dismiss the need for an apology because I feel like my existence requires an apology and any harm done to me is indirectly my fault and therefore doesn't need an apology so I never learned to forgive people and now it makes me extremely uncomfortable to even write forgiveness. :) So slay of me

Sirius Black was on top of the world. He was top of all his classes despite refusing to study, excluding History of Magic, Remus beat him there. He was a star player in the Griffendor quittich team. And he was insanely popular due to his extravogant, and alcohol filled, parties, charming nature, halarious pranks, and pretty face.

Even on a far more personal level he was living the dream. He had a large group of close friends, his summer break promised Effie's wonderful cooking, and he had an excelent, and very hot, boyfriend. Who was currently carding a hand through his hair as Sirius laid across his lap. He also seemed to be talking so Sirius forced himself out of his content daze to pay attention.

"I still don't get how Lils and you became friends so fast in first year?" Oh, James was here too, sitting next to Lily, hands twined together. Laughing lightly her and Remus exchanged small grins.

"Easy, we were the only ones that payed any attention in History of Magic. And we were both broke and committed to bagging the richest boys in hogwarts." That caught Sirius's attention because he knew he was one of those two.

"What?" He glanced up at Remus, slightly alarmed but he just hummed lazily before responding.

"Yeah, we met up for homework, left with an oath to pull the two of you and mary rich. I was originally going to take James since his family seemed a lot more open but then Sirius turned out gay and James got a crush on Lily so we just traded."

"You two..." Sirius's voice faltered. "You two madean oath? What kind of oath?" Remus looked at him for a moment before answering in a tone that implied the answer was obvious.

"A pinky promise." Horrified, Sirius stared at them. He wasn't entirely sure what a pinky promise was since the entire muggle raised population at school seemed to have collectively agreed not to show any purebloods but from what he discovered it seemed to be the muggle equivalent of an Unbreakable Vow.

"In first year?" Lily shrugged.

"It was more like the first week but yeah." Sirius's thoughts raced.

He wasn't unfamiliar with people wanting to date him for his money but Remus? It just didn't sound like him but here he was, practically handing Sirius a confession on a gold platter. "Everyone has a selling point, and if you have enough money you can get anyone to do anything." Wonderful, for once his hag of a mother was right.

He was dimly aware of James laughing and realized the conversation must have carried on without him. But he couldn't get himself out of his head, couldn't stop the thoughts swirling around in his head at record speeds.

"I'm going for a walk." He blinked, realizing he was standing and all three were looking at him.

"I'll come with you." He shook his head and pulled his hand away from where Remus had tried to grab it.

"No, I'm fine on my own. Bye." Without another moment of hesitation Sirius practically ran out of the common room.

When he returned hours later after nightfall he moved through the common room silently, and made his way to the dorms.

When he got there Peter and James's curtians were closed and Remus was laying in his bed, book open on his chest like he'd fallen asleep before he could put the book away.

Slipping into the bathroom he wiped off the remaining smudges of eyeliner on his cheeks and brushed his teeth before changing for bed. When he came back out he headed to his bed, shoving a small pile of personal affects to the end of the bed before going to climb in. A soft voice behind him froze him in place.

"That's not where you sleep." Either Remus hadn't been asleep or Sirius had woken him up because he was sitting up in his bed, staring at Sirius. He let out a light scoff.

"It's my bed Remus, thats where I'm meant to sleep." Remus's frown deepened.

"You never sleep in your bed."

"First time for everything." There was a moment of silence between the two.

"What did I do?" If Sirius hadn't been so heartbroken he might have laughed.

"What did you do? I..." He took a deep breath to keep himself calm. "Remus if you wanted money you could have just asked, not played with me like that. I don't need it anyways." Remus stared at him, mystified.

"What?"

"Don't what me, we both know you're far from stupid." It took several seconds for Remus to put the peices together but the realization seemed to strike him hard.

"Oh, love, no it was a joke, we were joking." He scowled.

"Sure."

"Siri, I'm being serious, I don't give a fuck about your money."

"Yeah, that's what I thought too but then you and Lily fucking basucally confessed the whole thing. I guess Mother really was right about people doing anything for money." Remus just stared at him, slack jawed.

"What? I told you we were- You're quoting your mother baby, your mother." His voiced raised, staying just quiet enough not to wake the other boys. "Do you realize how fucking insane that is?" Sirius blinked.

"I... oh." The peices he was missing seemed to click back into place and the rather heartbroken and bitter fog cleared. He'd just said his mother was right, what the fuck was that?

"Listen, me and Lily were just joking, I thought you knew that. We never made any pinky promises, no plotting to mary rich occured. Okay we made one pinky promise that she'd help me woo you but thats not important. And I'm sorry that it upset you so much. Are we okay now?" Sirius nodded slightly.

"Yeah, we're okay." Letting out a releived chuckle Remus grabbed his wrist and pulled him over into bed.

"Good because I'm very tired and I need cuddles from my wonderful, very pretty, if a bit dramatic, boyfriend." Sirius bit back a laugh and snuggled onto Remus's chest.

"Sorry I freaked out." Remus pulled the blankets over the two of them and carded a hand through Sirius's hair.

"You don't have anything to be sorry for Love." Sirius hummed contentedly before lifting his head to press a small kiss to Remus's lips.

"I love you." Remus chuckled and gave him another kiss.

"I love you too."

Yup. All things considered Sirius Black was on top of the world.
