Sevina Snape was a no-nonsense kind of lady. Strict, a little unfair at times, but she was, undeniably, a good Potions Master. Sevina Snape, the no-nonsense lady, happens to tolerate the manâ who also happened to be a head auror for the ministryâ flirting with her with little to no shame.
He sat there since before the feast had begun.
"Isn't this great, Sev?" He whispers just before students piled in. Bruce sat to Sevinaâs right. "I get to work closer to you now. I get to see you whenever I want." He says as he flashes her a grin she knows all too well. She rolled her eyes at him, as if seeing the future of what'll happen. She fought back a grin as she spoke, trying to keep her tone professional. "We are both at work, Mulciber. I'll still kick you out of my office without hesitation."
"From my own wife? How mean." He only chuckled at that.
âYou two are surely an insufferable married couple.â Sighed Minerva as she sat down next to Sevinaâs left. Bruce grinned as if he had just done something he shouldnât. Sevina sighed, thinking how long of a year this is going to be.
âI can already tell the disasters thatâll happen.â Said Sevina. Bruce pouted playfully beside her.
"Iâll behave then, promise.â He said, and his mood instantly improved when Sevina gave him a kiss on the cheek.
When the students piled in and after the sorting, thatâs when he was being infuriatingly charming. Sevina resisted the urge to squish his face in her hands in order for him to be quiet. She was trying hard not to fall for them, damn it! She needed to keep up this strict, unfeeling persona, yet Bruce thinks itâs a fun game to try and get her to laugh and crack a smile.
Well, the two were engaged in conversation nearly the entire evening, and that definitely didnât go unnoticed. The students were a little too afraid to ask the potions master about it, not wanting to get detention. Fred and George Weasley, however, were the only brave souls to ask about it.
Long story short, they had a monthâs detention with Filch after that.
Bruce wasnât at the castle very often, only on some weekends, though he was in the castle for about two weeks to prepare the first task. But whenever he was in the castle, students couldnât help but notice how often he was close with the potions professor.
One day, Harry had the misfortune of forgetting his textbook in the potions classroom, and he, along with his two other friends, ventured down to the dungeons together.
What they didnât expect to see was the Head Auror himself walking out, just as the trio were about to open the door.
âOh, hello you three.â He greeted them with a smile. âHere for detention?â
âEr, no sirâ I left my book.â Said Harry.
âWell, I hadnât seen a notebook inside, but surely itâs there somewhere. Se- Snape isnât inside at the moment, so you wonât encounter her there.â They thanked him as they hurriedly walked inside. Harry found his notebook, and he also noticed a vase of flowers on the professorâs desk.
In the common rooms that night, they just had to talk about it.
"So we arenât crazy!â Said Harry, âHe really is flirting with Snape!â
âHe canât, though, heâs married.â Said Ron. âWell, dad said he was married, but he never publicly said to whom.â
âThen⊠what if heâsâ simply married to Snape?â
The trio fell into silence.
"Thereâs no way.â Said Ron, slightly grimacing. âSheâs a git! Who would wanna spend more than five minutes with her?â He said, earning a light whack from Hermione.
âBecause why else would he be giving her flowers if he was married to someone else?â Said Hermione. âBesides, did you even see them? They could be used for potion ingredients! Theyâre definitely married!â
âOr, I donât know, heâs having an affair?â Piped up Harry, earning questionable looks from both of them. âWhat? From what Iâve seen in Aunt Petuniaâs soap operas, that could happen!â
âThis isnât a soap opera!â
âOkay, okay! But Snape isnât wearing a ring like he is on her finger.â Harry pointed out. âEven outside potions classes.â
"That's fair..."
The trio, eventually, settled on a bet. Hermione bet 10 galleons they were married, and Ron and Harry bet 5 each they werenât.
The answer came to them during the Yule Ball.
Everyone was there, having funâ well, except Ron because of his questionable dress robesâ but it was a fun event regardless.
The staff were dressed up, too, even Professor Snape, in a black, floor-length dress with pearlsâ something a pureblood would wear, and something she would have never worn on any other day. She also had a white lily on her left ear.
Standing next to her was the Head Auror himself again, Bruce Mulciber, wearing a matching black suit with a matching white lily in his right. In his arms, a little girl, also with a lily. She had his dark skin and his energy, it seemed, for how eager she wanted to dance.
After the champions had danced and the dance floor was free for everyone, the two had joined the dance floor, earning the little girl many âawwâsâ and affectionate headpats from the crowd.
After a few minutes, the girl had already grown tired. Bruce easily scooped her up into his arms as they walked away from the dance floor, and towards the staffâs round table.
Sevina, previously engaged in conversation with Charity Burbage, the muggle studies professor, turned around in time to see her husband and daughter walking over to the table, and she couldnât help the chuckle escape from her lips. âShe seems like she had a good time.â She said, taking her from his arms. The girl stirred, murmuring tiredly.
"She stole everyoneâs hearts tonight, thatâs for sure.â Said Bruce as he took Sevinaâs hand and brought it up to his lips, planting a soft kiss there. Sevina planted a kiss on her daughterâs temple, too.
âItâs time for bed, it seems.â She said, even though it was only around 9pm. Aurora weakly protested. âNo, no, my dear,â chuckled Sevina, âyouâre very sleepy already. Night-night.â
Sevina turned to Bruce again. âWill she stay with you or me?â She whispered, as to not wake her.
âI was thinking⊠We both stayed here for the night. Sheâs not the only one who misses mama a lot.â Said Bruce, pouting at her, which earned a sigh from Sevina. âFine, fine. Suppose youâve earned it. I missed her too.â She said as they made her way to her private quarters, earning some quiet, shocked looks from a few people when they saw her leaving with the kid.
The trio saw the whole thing from afar, too.
âShe IS married! To him! And they had a kid!â Said Hermione gleefully, being one of the few people who were charmed by Auroraâs adorableness.
Harry and Ron groaned as they handed her the five galleons from the bet. F
