Quidditch H vs S /Year 6

The grandstand around the quidditch pitch started to fill with people. That day, instead of four colours, most students and other observers were dressed in only two. It was the big game between Hufflepuff and Slytherin competing for the second place right behind Gyffindor.

Anna herself wore yellow. Of course she did. Most of her friends were Hufflepuffs. She knew that Sophia was sad about the fact, that her friends were rooting for the enemy, but Anna couldn't bring herself to cheer for a team made up mostly of pureblood assholes. She did plan on cheering whenever Sophia scored, however.

Anna was wrapped in a yellow scarf that Martina had lent her for today's purpose. The brown-haired girl wore her quidditch jearsey that still fit surprisingly well, even though she quit the team this year to make space for the younger players. (Anna suspected that that was a lie and truthfully, she wanted to make more time for a very specific Ravenclaw boy and perhaps her studies) Aurelia was wearing a yellow jearsey too. But her's stated "Klein" on the back. Oh, to be young and in love.

Currently, they were searching for a space big enough to fit all of their friends to sit down. Almost exactly in the middle of the stands they found the perfect place.

"Ok, now it's only twenty minutes until the players fly out onto the pitch. By the way, I heard that some seventh year is taking bets again, did any of you place one?", Aurelia asked.

"Yeah, actually-", Anna laughed, "-I placed one on Emma, but don't worry I only placed five galleons. I just wanted to show some moral support."

Martina seemed to find that hilarious. When she calmed from her laughter she started speaking again, "I know we're all here to support Emma-", she turned to look at her best friend, "-and Wendelin of course, as well as the entirety of Hufflepuff house, but realistically how high do we estimate their chances? I mean, I dispise most of the Slytherin quiddich players, but they are very good when it comes to sports."

She then got a clap on the shoulder by no other than Kili. He and Maxi had just found their way over to the girls and were getting comfortable right behind them. "Hufflepuff will win 100%. Don't doubt what Sebi can do with a broom between his legs.", he joked. "No, but seriously? I really believe in them. I mean I don't know how your replacement will do, but the rest of the team is bloody good."

Martina scolded him on the fact that said "replacement" was Nina's younger brother while Anna was scanning the seats around them for other people who had found their way to the Hufflepuff stands.

There weren't any people she hadn't expected to see. When she searched for the people who weren't present though, she discovered something more interesting.

Most Gryffindors were standing with Hufflepuff for this game. Even Magdalena was there, despite having many friends in Slytherin.

Kilian wasn't anywhere in sight. Not a big surprise if she was honest, he barely talked to anyone apart from his favourite Slytherins.

"Does anyone know if Kilian is on the other side? I haven't seen him around yet.", she asked the group around her.

Kili quickly answered, "Why would I care what that bastard's doing?", he scoffed. He wasn't his biggest fan.

Maxi gave her more insight. "Yeah, I saw him going up there when I wished Sebi good luck. Not really a big shocker though, he's basically a Slytheriin himself. I still don't get how the sorting hat could get something so incredibly wrong."

She mostly agreed with him on that. Kilian could really be a nasty pain when he's around his friends. At the same time Auri tells them regularly, how well she gets along with him, when they meet in the common room or during quidditch practise.

Some people Anna just couldn't understand. And those boys made up for most of them.

Madam Hoch entered the pitch and the other teachers were settling in their seats as well. Now, it would only take a couple more minutes until the game began.

They used the rest of the time to talk about their theories on who would win, Hufflepuff's improved strategy and new flying techniques. Martina gave them a brief introduction on the new seeker who was playing his first big game and how she had trained him since the beginning of term.

Before they knew it a loud voice overshadowed their chatter. Kaan started to announce the game and just when the doors opened, the players shot out. While Kaan was busy introducing every player by their names, the crowd cheered for the teams.

Anna tried hard to make out who was who, but they were so far up in the air, that she could only guess based on the silhouettes. The only two clearly standing out were the seekers. Higher up then the other players, it was easy to spot Clemens and Claus.

"We welcome the new seeker for Hufflepuff. Clemens Buchinger is taking Martina Crouch's place for the first time. We wish you good luck!", Kaan's voice echoed across the pitch.

Professor Hoch gave a sign from the ground and then threw the Quaffle in the air, symolising the game had begun.

Slim figures darted through the air. From the stands, Anna was hardly able to follow the game and all of its details. Good that they had an excellent commentator.

A few  minutes in, he pulled this joke: "Wendelin Klein scores again! Slytherin's keeper is having a hard time 'keeping' up with Hufflepuff's captain today. 50 to 40 for Hufflepuff." Sometimes his wits did not favour his humor.

The game continued on and the score kind of stayed the same the entire time. Hufflepuff scored and then Slytherin caught up and overtook them, this process repeated and repeated. The only reason why Slytherin were leading the game by a few points, were some tactical fouls, almost taking a few Hufflepuff players to the ground.

Anna found another thing to direct her concentration at. A certain Slytherin seeker was hovering high above the ground and looking out for the snitch. And he looked so fine doing just that.

She spent a lot of time just blankly staring at the blonde boy in the air. The rest of the game wasn't much to look at anyway. She didn't even register Aurelia's cheers anymore, though she cheered like nobody else whenever Wendelin threw the Quaffle.

Ignoring almost everything else, her eyes were fixed on the seeker when he suddenly found something. She couldn't see it from the distance, but since Claus started flying straight after something, she knew he had found the snitch.

That's when the crowd went wild. Everyone was aware of what was happening, while the game got more and more messy.

Claus flew close to the snitch, he must have. He cut through the sky but didn't quite seem to be fast enough.

Everyone was watching the blonde, with fear or excitement, wondering if he would catch it. But since everyone was so fixated on Claus, nobody noticed Clemens flying toward him from the opposite direction.

And that seemed to have done the job.

"Clemens Buchinger caught the snitch! Hufflepuff wins the game with 240 points!"

Loud cheers all around. Anna started clapping too, since she was happy for her friends. However, she was a bit sad when she watched the Slytherin players leaving the pitch. Hanging behind everyone else, was a disappointed looking Claus.

For a second, she thought about doing something to make him feel a bit lighter. But before she could think of something remotely appropriate, she was dragged away by a celebrating crowd of friends.

What she now had to focus on, was helping her friends plan the most amazing party ever.
