Arrival in the past
Hermione groaned as she sat up. She was in a small alley with the remains of her wand scattered around her.
"No!" She cried grabbing the pieces of the wand before focusing after a few minutes. "Focus, you need to figure out where you are and get back to the others.
Looking out the alley she paled.
"I don't think I'm in my time anymore." Hermione said seeing Muggle London in the past. She quickly headed to a newspaper and saw it was the summer of the year 1890.
"Great." Hermione sighed as she went back to the alley. "1890, the year that was only mentioned by being the year of a Goblin Rebellion but also being considered to unbelievable to be trusted as a history source and thus not included in any history books beyond that. I need to find a way back to the future, but going back this far is illegal. If anyone finds out I am from the future I would be arrested. At least with me being in the past Harry and the others are safe. They haven't been born yet so aren't in danger right now. I'll need to find a way back to the future to help them."
"I'll need to find a way to stay at the Leaky Cauldron." Hermione sighed knowing future money would not work in the past. "That is the best place to stay while focusing on a way back to the future. Well, second best, Hogwarts is better. Maybe I can pretend to be a late bloomer that was pointed this way by a wizard that saw my magic but was too busy to bring me here themself?"
After a bit of back and forth she got the room in exchange for helping out as a waitress.
A few days later Hermione was working in the uniform she was given as a man walked in.
"Hello." He said. "My name is Professor Eleazor Fig of Hogwarts. May I ask are you Hermione Granger?"
"I am." Hermione said warily wondering how he knew about her.
"Wonderful." Professor Fig said. "Hogwarts School was notified about you when your name appeared in our book of Acceptance that has the names of all students accepted to Hogwarts. The fact that you are older then normal students is quite a surprise, but we would like to offer you a position. Since you are a late bloomer if you accept I am authorized to teach you the basics of wand magic during the summer to help you catch up to your peers. With what your age appears to be you would probably be either fifth or sixth year and since fifth year has the OWL's that will be the year you are placed."
Knowing this would let her check Hogwarts for what she needs she agreed.
A few days later Hogwarts had paid for her stay so she could focus on her studies instead of being a waitress and she had started practicing with a second hand wand, since the wand store was closed as the Ollivander from this time went on a search for more wand materials to make more wands, and Professor Fig began to teach her basic magic, one of which being the Basic Cast which was no longer taught in the Hogwarts of her time. She had also recieved an acceptance letter:
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as a fifth-year student.
Term begins on 1 September,
Preliminary supplies have been collected for you and will accompany you on your journey to the castle.
As you may be aware, the Decree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Sorcery prohibits the use of magic by those under the age of seventeen outside of school. However, due to your unique circumstances, the Ministry has graciously agreed to allow Professor Eleazor Fig to hone your spell-casting before escorting you from London to the castle for the start-of-term feast and the Sorting Ceremony.
Yours Sincerely,
M. Weasley,
Professor Weasley
Deputy Headmistress
"I didn't know Ron's ancestor was a deputy headmistress." Hermione said surprised, "Though I am glad that Hogwarts is supplying the supplies I still don't have any money from this time period."
With that she got back to her studies.
