“Guys guys! I got a phone!” Sirius shouts as he races into the marauders room.
“What! Phones aren’t even allowed! How?” James grins eagerly as he stands up from his bed where he was trying to study but failing miserably.
“One of my great aunts! She has a muggle husband and she got disinherited from the Blacks so she sent me a phone to make it easier to contact. But! I also found a hidden gem, Youtube!” Sirius explains.
“What’s that?” Peter asks, setting down the chocolate frog he was eating as James and Sirius sit in the middle of the floor.
“I think it’s just a ton of videos on a website! We can watch a few, my aunt said there’s a ton of stuff on here,” Sirius says as he and the other two crowd around Sirius’s new phone.
Sirius pulls up the app and the basic trending tabs show up. Video games, sports, music, everything anyone could ever imagine.
“Alright lads, what are we gonna watch!” James asks.
“Oh! Oh! Let’s look up baking videos!” Peter says excitedly. “I’ve wanted to learn to cook the muggle way”
“No that’s dumb, magic is easier, moony said so,” Sirius says. “Where even is Moony?”
“He’s at the library studying with Lily again” Peter says slightly sad at Sirius’s dismissal of his idea.
“Lupin’s so lucky! Spending time with Evan’s…” James says with a dramatic sigh.
“Come on prongs, don’t be sour! I wanna watch a video!” Sirius pesters as James looks to him.
“Can we see if there are any wizards on here? Maybe what brooms are best” James says thoughtfully.
“Like a ranking? Or a grade?” Peter asks. Peter finally moves from his bed to the floor where Sirius and James are sitting. The Gryffindor red carpet soft under them.
“Exactly!” James says perking up.
“Whatever will stop your sulking prongs” Sirius says with a chuckle as he types ‘Broom ranking’ into the search engine.
Videos of old muggle men with many different house hold brooms show up along with cleaning supplies videos.
“None of these are it…” James says as Sirius keeps scrolling.
“Yeah I don’t know James, Not many wizards seem to be on here.” Peter says.
While scrolling, Sirius sees a video called ‘2 minutes of Where’s the wolf crash outs! Broom one included”
“Woah what’s that?” Sirius says scrolling the video to the middle of the screen.
“Don’t know but it looks mad!” James responds.
The thumb nail for the photo is a picture that’s blurred slightly because of the motion. It’s a person smashing some kind of muggle technology, a phone but way bigger and with a thing that looks like a piano but smaller keys and on a desk, with a broom.
“Let’s watch it and see what’s up” Peter says. James and Sirius nod as Sirius clicks on the video.
“What does crash out mean?” Peter asks.
“Where’d you get that from?” James questions.
“It’s the name of the video! Something about a crash out” Peter replies.
“I think it mean destruction or something similar,” Sirius says as the video loads. “Either way we can just ask Moony, he’s a half blood”
Finally the video loads and it’s a short intro with some kind of muggle music, something that Remus has definitely listened to before. Then it’s a guy with headphones on sitting in a chair at a desk. Not any guy. Moony.
“Moony?!” Sirius shouts.
“What the fuck!?” James says confused.
“Whys he…?” Peter questions.
Before anyone can get their mind straight, Remus in the screen starts to speak.

In the top corner of the video it changes from a colorful game with a fun loading screen to a screen that says ‘Whats the reason for reporting?’ Then a box to type in and Remus types ‘caled meh ah slutt’ Spelling mistakes and all.
‘Have fun with your life ban’ Remus gives a thumbs up as his screen goes black and it says connection lost. The texts in the corner going crazy with all reactions from anywhere between ‘BAHAHHAHA HE GOT FLAGGED AGAIN’ and ‘NOOOO WE HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER MONTH NOW:(((‘
“Woah…I wasn’t expecting that…” Peter says, shocked.
James sits there silently, mouth agape and Sirius watches the phone.
“Thats NOT Moony! Moony would think this is dumb! Funny but dumb,” Sirius says.
The video continues as Remus screams at games, his ‘chat’ as he calls it, and even does indeed smash his ‘monitor’ as his chat called it with a broom.
“Theres another one we can watch, ya know to see what Moony’s like when not at school” James says once the shock settles.
Sirius clicks the video. “I’m still not convinced” Sirius rolls his eyes “Theres no way that’s my Moony”
“So he’s yours now hm?” James smirks
“Not what I said! He’s our Moony, a fellow marauder!” Sirius covers poorly, a faint blush on his pale skin.
“Sureeee, let’s go with that,” Peter laughs as the next video plays.
This video is three minutes of Lupin making inappropriate jokes and gets banned or flagged every time.
‘I wanna start streaming got any tips?’ Remus reads from the chat on the video.
‘Uhmm I’ve got a tip for ya, and it’s pink!” Then the video cuts out like it always did at the ends of the clips.
“What the fuck Moony!” James laughs. Peter is on his back, almost crying from the clip before where Remus fell out of his chair.
Sirius can’t- No, Sirius won’t believe that this is Remus. His Remus wouldn’t do this. Yeah sure Lupin has secrets, they all do! But this is something he surely would’ve told Sirius. Right?
“That’s it! I’m getting Moony! Evan’s can wait!” Sirius stands up, leaving his phone playing on the floor as he marches out of the room to the library.
“Sirius wait!” James sighs. “I’m gonna keep watching these and let them have a moment” Peter nods and James moves to pick up the phone as he clicks the next video.
Meanwhile in the library Remus and Lily are studying astronomy for the upcoming test.
“Hey Remus, why is James so obsessed? I told him I don’t like him but I don’t want to keep hurting his feelings” Lily questions.
“Honestly, he’s probably never gonna give up.” Remus closes his book with a sigh. “He’s persistent with everything,”
A loud slam comes from the door and strong footsteps march to the very back table where Remus and Lily are sitting. Footsteps Remus knows well as Sirius’s.
“What does he want..?” Remus mutters as Lily raises an eyebrow
“Who?” Lily asks as Sirius finally makes it through the maze of book shelves to Remus’s table.
“Moony! Your coming with me!” Sirius states loudly. Earning some sushing from a few Ravenclaws in the next table over.
“Sorry, but no, I’m busy-“ Remus tries to say as Sirius grabs him by his tie and pulls him up. “Ow! Pads I’m busy!” Remus shouts as he gets shushed.
“Sorry” Remus whispers to the Ravenclaws.
“Come on, either walk with me or get dragged by your tie,” Sirius says lowly.
Remus pushes Sirius’s hand off of his tie and starts to follow the Black back to the dorm room.
“Merlin, what’s so important that you had to drag me away from the library, Evan’s was helping me study!” Remus glares at Sirius who looks in a rush.
“You’ll see Moony!” Sirius says.
“I hate the sound of that..” Remus sighs.
“Well I’m not the one with secrets,” Sirius mutters as they get to the common room.
“What secrets?” Remus says following Sirius up to the room, rushing a bit to catch up. “Sirius, Your making me ner-“ Before he could finish his thoughts the door opens and inside is Peter and James watching a video.
Specifically a video of Remus. STREAMING! A part of Remus’s life that his friends were never supposed to be aware of. The video is of a stream he did last summer, one where he got banned because he put a spoon in the microwave to see what happened and it blew up in his face, a little too literal for Lupins liking. After the small explosion all you hear from Remus in the video is a scream.
‘YOU FUCKING CUNT-“ Just before the video got cut off.
James sets the phone down and looks at Remus.
“Wanna explain Lupin?” Sirius says as he walks over to James and stands with a disapproving look.
“Yeah! That’s you right?” Peter asks.
“No it’s not, right? You would tell us if it was!” Sirius mutters. “Right Remus?” Sirius never calls Remus his name. NEVER.
“Uhm…N-no?” Remus stumbles out the words in an uncertain tone
“Now your lying to us!? Gods just tell us what this is!” Sirius shouts. Sirius doesn’t look angry, more hurt. Hurt that Remus didn’t tell him about this second life. Hurt that Remus would lie to cover it.
“Fine! Fine! Keep it down! I don’t need people knowing…” Remus mutters.
Sirius casts a silencing spell on the room.
“No way, now explain, WHAT IS THIS AND WHY DIDNT I KNOW?” Sirius questions.
“It’s streaming! It’s something muggles do to entertain people! I play games in front of a camera with viewers watching it in real time, it’s a livestream in a site called Twitch..” Remus explains. “How? How did you even find this- Where’d the phone come from!?” Remus questions as he picks up the phone from in front of James.
“Unimportant, Why didn’t you tell us, tell me?” Sirius asks as he snatches the phone out of Remus’s hands.
“Because the stuff I do isn’t the best or smartest” Remus says. “I get banned and it’s stupid-“ Remus starts.
“Moony these are hilarious! What makes you think is, the marauders of all people would hate this?” James says with his signature grin.
“N-no that’s not-“ Remus tries to explain.
“Is that why? Your scared of us hating you?” Peter asks.
“I’m not scared of anything-“ Remus tries again to explain.
“Moony, I cannot believe that you tried to lie-“ Sirius lectures.
“I’m not scared! Gods let me speak! I just didn’t want attention drawn to me that wasn’t marauder related! Like what’s happening right now!” Remus says as he drags his hands down his face and sits on his bed.
This is terrible. The one reason that Remus didn’t want anyone at school to know was happening right now. Well I guess Remus was a bit stupid to think that this was never gonna happen. Being a decently popular streamer for his age and not covering his face whatsoever on his streams, someone was bound to find out about his gig over summer. That Remus expected. But what Remus wasn’t expecting was the differing reactions.
James seems excited and happy about it, laughing at the jokes and stuff. Good to see people still think the Remus’s streams are funny even with the fact that all school year he doesn’t stream.
Peter seems to not care either way whether Remus was the streamer or not. He had expected James to react like this.
“Sirius, I promise I was gonna tell you guys..Just not yet,” Remus says quietly.
Sirius’s reaction to this whole situation was weird. Odd even, he looked hurt. Hurt that Remus hadn’t told him? Maybe, Hurt that Remus lied? Definitely.
“I don’t wanna hear about it, you lied for what? A year? A year about what you do over your summers?” Sirius says with a stone cold expression.
“Two years…We’re in 5th year, I started in 3rd year..” Remus mutters ashamed.
“Two years! Two years of lies!” Sirius shouts again.
“Pads, don’t you think your blowing this a bit out of proportion? Moony technically didn’t lie since he was always vague about his summers,” James tries to ease the tension that’s rising in the room.
“No! That’s still a lie! A secret isn’t a lie!” Sirius sighs and rolls his eyes.
Just before Remus could reply. He gets cut off like he has a million other times today. But not by a voice, by a muggle song playing from the phone that Peter now held. Sirius must have set it down in his rage. ‘Killshot’ by Magdalena Bay, This song was basically burned into his brain from all the edits of himself that he gets tagged in.
“Peter, what is that?” Sirius asks, his voice angry.
“Probably a fan edit…” Remus grumbles slightly as he goes over to look at it.
Remus was right, it was an edit by Killereditz. Killereditz had some of the most popular Where’s_The_Wolf? edits, over a million followers on tiktok and subscribers on Youtube.
“Whats an edit?” Peter asks.
“Basically a video to make me look cooler or funnier, they have effects and music over clips of my streams..” Remus says watching the video, many clips of Remus laughing or raging played as Killshot played with some flashes. The video already had over 20k views and likes.
“Moony’s got a fan club hm?” James says as Sirius fums in the same spot he stood the whole time next to James.
“This edit is from a particular account. He usually makes good edits of me, joins every stream, kind of obsessed actually” Remus says, not having thought this deep about it before.
Sirius was about to talk again but the door opens and a certain Slytherin is seen. Remus thought it was Regulus asking for Sirius but no. Not this time it wasn’t. It was none other then Barty Crouch Jr. Who was now standing and staring at the phone that Peter never paused the edit on.
“Fuck…” Remus says as he stands still. Now he was scared of criticism.
“Holy shit…You watch my edits? Holy shit you watch my edits! This is great!” Barty says as he smiles and walks in.
“WHAT?!” All the marauders say at the same time.
Little did they know, while Remus was lying to his friends all school year, Barty Crouch Jr had a secret of his own that he was hiding. Remus’s secret was the Where’s_The_Wolf? Twitch account. Barty’s was the Killereditz tiktok fan page. The more you know huh?
