Ron Weasley, 1991

He was excited with the idea of Ron coming home, though it meant no uncle Moony that day. By nine in the morning, Ella and Charles finished putting their dorm in order. He was looking forward to reading Quidditch through the ages. If there was something that he liked more than reading, was quidditch. And that book was just those two things combined.

“Oi Charles, which house do you reckon you'll end up in?”

“Don't know. I don't think I'll end either on Slytherin or Ravenclaw.”

“You've got the brain. Plus, mom was in Ravenclaw.”

“But it’s not a family thing, isn't it?”

“Say that to Ron, all his family is on gryffindor. Even Percy, and you know how ambitious he is and stuff.”

“I'd like to be a Gryffindor. That's where dad was. The house for the brave.”

“Yeah, but Huffelpuff is so good too!” she looked away and said: “What the Bloody hell is that?!”

Charles was confused until she pointed at some kind of weird Bowtruckle which all of a sudden had shifted into some sort of cake made of leaves. Their father came into the room, laughing.

“Came to congratulate my kids before work! Arthur told me yesterday that Molly and the kids will be arriving here by floo net at 12 o’ clock. So make sure to be downstairs by that time.” He kissed both of their foreheads, Charles didn’t really like it, but it made his dad happy so he went along with it, “Happy birthday Ella, Charles. I'll be here for Dinner” and another CRACK. Alone again.

He didn’t care, and he didn’t think Ella did either. The Weasleys were coming. Ronald Weasley was his best mate. They've met when they were five years old, since John and Mr. Weasley worked together for a couple of months in the ministry. And although their dad had a much higher position and rank at work now, they were still as close.

They always came by the floo net, which meant that anytime soon a couple of red haired people were going to pop down in the living room. And then…

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLES, ELLA!” Ron screamed as soon as he saw the twins coming downstairs. Behind him, his siblings (which were all boys except for Ginny) appeared. Mrs. Weasley popped last, as she usually did. The table was settled, everything was ready for them to eat. He sat opposite Ron and Ella, next to Ginny. They were really close, the four of them.

“Hey kids, do you fancy playing some quidditch later?” said Fred from across the table.

He and George, his twin, were both beaters for Gryffindor's team at hogwarts. So he agreed. Ella & Ron joined of course. He loved to play as a chaser and since Ella could play on any position, they all agreed on making a beater for each team and just one keeper, which was Ron (as always). Ella paired up with George and Charles did with Fred. Ginny wanted to play too, but she liked playing as a chaser and they were missing someone. Percy would never play with them, so she agreed to play on later and take turns with Charles.

The match was amazing and only concluded when mrs. Weasley called them off for some tea. And the house talk was brought up again. Ron was sure he would end up on Gryffindor but Charles could tell he was worried.

“Imagine if i don't, I would be the black sheep forever! Fred and George would tease me forever”

“Oh, c'mon Ron, you are going to be on Gryffindor, don't think much about it”

“But what if i don't,” he gave that look, “I cannot end up on Slytherin..”

“Ron, you've got to be kidding me.” Ella said

“ ‘am not!”

He was sure that his friend would end up on Gryffindor. He was scared of a lot of things, but the point of being brave was facing up those fears. He was really loyal and had some sense of honor. Charles, on the other hand, had no Idea.
