Dragons make great matchmakers. Who'd have thought.
Summary
Charlie Weasley and Charlie Swan are one and the same. Perks of wixen living long lives, is they get bored easy, and accrue a lot of time off. Charlie needed a vacation and a dartboard and a map was a good start. He liked Forks and decided to stay, commuting to the dragon reserve when needed and instead studying North American dragons while maybe see what this muggle auror business that Ron was so hung up on was all about. He was having fun. He met a lady and they started a family. Sure they didn't last, and she took his daughter away, but he had a family of his own for at least a little while. He had a good friend in the shifter community, not that they knew he knew, and Harry was keeping in regular contact about his babies on the Romanian reserve. It was nice. But now his daughter was coming to live with him, and while he was excited, he had no idea how to interact with a teenage girl, the last one he had any in depth experience with had been his sister. And Billy had been hounding him to start dating again. And Harry was coming to visit. There was a lot going on. But it was fine. He still had his 'fishing' trips (dragon wrangling) every weekend, so everything would work out. He hoped.

Prologue

After back to back raids from dragon poachers, Charlie Weasley desperately needed a break. Don't get him wrong, he loves his dragons more than anything, but those poachers had meant months and months of being unable to work closely with his babies, instead having to deal with all the wixen involved in the case. If he stayed, it would be ages of dealing with aurors, the press, and his mother trying yet again to convince him to change jobs. Wizards Have fairly long lives and suffice it to say, Charlie Weasley is a fair bit older than he appears. He had also been working nonstop. He needed a vacation. So at the ripe age of 172, Charlie Weasley became Charlie Swan.

Harry thought it hilarious, but using glamours and aging potions to slowly age himself up at a pace that wouldn't seem suspicious, Charlie decided to go back to school. Muggle school to be exact. Maybe he'd spend some of his time off studying North American dragons, or maybe he'd finally be able to find someone he could build a family with. Either way, he'd take a few weeks off while he dumped handling the press on Harry, then if he liked where he was, he'd stay there and just port key to the reserve.

With his plans set up, Charlie Swan was off to Forks, Washington. Who knew that a dartboard was such a fun way to choose a destination?
