Sirius was laughing. His arms resting on his stomach as rolls and rolls of laughter escaped his lips. Remus watched as his chin tilted up, mesmerised, almost enchanted with how addictive that soft chuckle was.
Sirius glanced back. A flicker of his eyes meeting Remus. A pause within time, red creeping up Remus’ neck.
Gulp.
Why was he thinking like this? Sirius had been his friend for years. Best friend. Had he mentally betrayed him? It felt so wrong, but compelling, alluring. He was intoxicated, high on the sensation. God, what was wrong with him? A lot, it seemed.
Remus couldn’t stand this any longer. He just couldn’t. He’s seen the crowd and flocks of girls all willing to rip Sirius into shreds. How could he ever compete with such feminine beauty. All of them, every single one, beautiful and elegant and… he was just… Remus.
“What’s wrong?” Remus was slapped out of his thoughts by the symphony of his voice. That voice. He felt choked by these thoughts. By Sirius’ very presence. He could barely function.
“Er… nothing…”
A beat.
“Well it’s not nothing, is it?” Sirius smirked. Damn, Remus was down bad.
“What do you mean?” Remus felt lumps in his throat build up, choking him. He could barely breathe. Not around Sirius. Never around Sirius.
“You’ve been weird all day. What’s wrong. You can talk to me.”
Another beat.
“I…” The words felt lost. Snatched. He couldn’t do this.
“You what?” A blank look. A stare of confusion and questioning.
“I…”
Then… realisation.
“Oh… ohhhh. I get it now.” Sirius exclaimed. Like he had just solved the cure to cancer.
“G-get what?” If Remus wasn’t burning before, he definitely was now. A hot flush pasting across his face… Sirius was leaning in. Oh God.
He was so close. Remus could feel the heat of his breath. He took a sharp intake. Within that snap, he could feel the press of Sirius’ lips. What was happening? Is this real? Is this here? Is he doing this? He felt a palm make contact with his burning face, ever so tender. Remus could feel his heart beating in his ears. He could feel it pounding out of his chest. And before he could register, he kissed back.
