elders part three
(The circle is drawn in a clearing or garden, the soil freshly turned. Candles are replaced by lanterns. In the center: a small oak sapling in a pot. The coven stands hand in hand.)
Professor Sprout steps forward — boots muddied, robes weathered, smile warm as sunlight after rain.
She doesn’t speak like a formal professor.
She speaks like the earth — steady, knowing, patient.
🌱 Sprout’s Words:
“Now then. This isn’t just magic you’re tying together here… it’s roots.”
“And roots, my dears, don’t shout. They don’t sparkle. They hold.”
“You’ll face storms. Droughts. Maybe the occasional magical pest nibbling at your peace.”
“But if you’ve tended your bond right — it’ll survive.”
She steps into the circle and kneels beside the sapling.
“What you’re making today isn’t just a bond of minds. It’s a bond of hearts. And hearts, like gardens, need tending.”
“This coven—your coven—is a place to grow. Together. Carefully. Wildly, even.”
🌾 Sprout’s Blessing:
She places her hand on the soil and speaks softly:
“Let this oath take root.”
“Let curiosity bloom, and kindness be your sun.”
“Let the forbidden remain untouched, but never unknown.”
“Let your joy be loud, and your magic gentle where it can be — and fierce when it must be.”
She hands each member a seed, wrapped in cloth, enchanted to respond to their magic over time.
It will only bloom when they’ve learned something truly worth keeping.
🍃 Symbolic Gift from Sprout:
A small wooden box containing:
A pouch of enchanted soil from the Hogwarts greenhouses
A tiny vial of Moondew sap for healing or growth spells
A note in her curling handwriting:
“Good magic grows deep. You already have the roots.”
🌕 Closing Words:
“I, Pomona Sprout, stand as elder and witness to this planting of purpose.”
“Grow well. Grow wildly. And never forget—even weeds have their uses.”
She winks. And then leaves behind the sapling — which will grow as their bond does.
They are to replant it on the anniversary of their oath.
