Inheritance test

I see many Harry Potter fic where Harry or a few others that have inheritance fic in gringgots or anywhere else but i want another type where everyone (students) gets inheritance test not just harry

Inheritance test could be integrated as a magical tradition or rite of passage, where all students at Hogwarts (a plot i casually make because i want to see muggle- born got them too) undergo a formal test that reveals magical legacies, bloodlines, or hidden talents that they might have inherited from their ancestors. This could involve magical objects, enchanted spells, or rituals to unlock dormant magic tied to the family’s heritage.

the inheritance test could be a school-wide event, similar to the Sorting Hat ceremony or the Triwizard Tournament, where all first-year students undergo the test together, and the results can be revealed publically if they want to. The event could cause excitement, drama, and tension as students learn more about their magical families.

i kinda wanna see where hermione, ron, luna, neville, fred&george, and other student get one all of them in one fic please (not all of them they have so many students but like majority of them)

Making the Inheritance Test a Hogwarts-wide magical tradition—especially something every student gets—completely flips the script and opens up so many juicy plot opportunities, both dramatic and wholesome. You've got drama, identity, legacy, found family themes—all wrapped up in this concept

example:

1) The Ministry or Hogwarts introduces a long-lost tradition revived post-war or during rising tensions. Every student of magical age (first-years and optionally others) must undergo an Inheritance Rite

  • It’s treated like a major event—held in the Great Hall with magical flames, ancient goblets, enchanted runes, etc.

  • Students place a drop of blood or magic into a magical artifact, which then reveals their heritage, affinities, latent abilities, or magical potential.

What the Inheritance Test Can Reveal:

  • Hidden creature blood (veela, vampire, werewolf, fae, etc.)

  • Old magical family connections or dormant pureblood ties (especially fun for Muggle-borns or half-bloods!)

  • Forgotten magical gifts (like Parseltongue, Seer sight, elemental affinity, or obscure blood curses/blessings)

  • Inheritance of magical artifacts or family seats

Bonus Reactions and Drama:

  • Draco Malfoy learns something shocking—like a squib or Muggle ancestor, shaking his identity.
  • A Muggle-born student discovers they’re from an exiled magical bloodline or an old magical culture (Roma, Egyptian, etc.), and the pureblood elite are shook.
  • Public revelation option causes drama—some students hide their results, some are proud, and some are shamed.
  • Slytherin becomes more complicated—students of all backgrounds reveal deep magic.

🎭 Themes:

  • Legacy vs. choice

  • Identity and self-acceptance

  • Family history, hidden truths, and reclaiming lost magic

  • Found family, especially with the Muggle-borns discovering magical roots
