Chapter 1

"And he is protected, as long as he calls the house in which Lilys blood flows home."

The rain is beating down on James and Sirius, running down their hair and clothes. At least it's just rain now, hitting them, not a rapid fire of curses aimed at them.
They walk in silence towards the small house, on which survival sicks to heavily to be home.
As they approach, dread sinks its claws in his gut and squeezes.
Something is wrong.
Very wrong.

The door is already open.
Blown from its hinges.
Screams, crying baby screams pierce the air.
Harry.
James legs start moving.
Harry

Be okay
Another step.
The screams ebb out.
Sirius is no longer at his side.

Another door wide open.
Still attached to the frame.
Sirius.
Harry.
In Sirius arms.
Save.

Then something catches his eye.
Something orange.
On the floor.
It takes a split second until he sees her face.
Lilys face, frozen in pain.
It seems like eternity has passed when he moves again.

Pain

Pain.

She needs healing.
Healing.

Close her wounds.
There are none.
Inside and out.
He closed them all up.

Keep her heart pumping.
Thump
Thump

Keep her lungs breathing.
In.
And out.

Keep her warm.
A curse.
Blood boiling.
Modified.
Thirty-seven degrees.

Give her your live force.
Dark magic.
Anything for Lily.

His arms grow heavy.

His legs weaken.

His knees are on the ground.

The world goes blurry.

"James! DON'T!"

Strong, steady arms surround him.
Hold him.

Lily.

Far away screams reach his ears.

Then Nothing.
