The First Transformation.

Draco sighs as he falls onto his bed. Harry was nervous and fidgeting all day, it was highly annoying. Now, Harry was pacing the room, glancing towards the door ever so often. McGonagall said that when everyone had gone to bed, they could sneak through the halls out to the Whomping Willow. It's already 10 pm, and the common room is emptying, slowly. Ron and Hermione are waiting downstairs, and when everyone has gone, they will come up to get Harry and Draco. Suddenly, a knocking sound fills the room, and Hermione's head pokes in.

"Everyone's gone. We can go. Cmon." She opens the door, leading Harry and Draco out to he common room.

"Ready? Alright, Harry, you need to go under the invisibility cloak. Draco, Ron, and I have to shield you from the moonlight, or you will transform. Let's go."

They walk down the stairs, watching out for ghosts flying through the walls. By the time they make it out, it's 11 pm. Only and hour before midnight. Only an hour before, Harry is gonna transform. Harry had been taking the Wolfsbane potion, brewed by Snape, throughout the week. Before they exit the castle, he takes his last goblet. They creep across the grounds, stopping just out of reach of the Whomping Willows' branches. Hermione converts herself to her animagus form and flies through the waving branches, pressing the knot under the stump, causing the tree to go still. Ron clambers in first, followed by Harry, then Draco, then Hermione, bringing up the rear. They crawl for a while before the tunnel widens just enough for them to stand up. They walk, awkwardly souching, before emerging outside of the Shrieking Shack. Hermione helps Harry inside, who is shaking and twitching, setting him down in an empty room full of claw marks and scrapes. Harry glances around, whimpering before curling in on himself. Draco could see in his eyes pure fear and utter bewilderment. Draco beckons Hermione to the corridor, leaving Ron to comfort Harry.

"I dont think the Wolfsbane potion is going to work. You can see it in his eyes, he knows it won't work." Draco whispers, his voice cutting through the still air.

"I know, I think we all do. It's probably something to do with his resistance to any type of potion. Once, I fed him a love potion, but it didn't work one bit. We have to tell Ron, he is one of the larger animagi. After you. Im going to tell him, stay with Harry. He needs you right now." Hermione replies, smiling a little at that last line.

Draco nods, walking back into the room, but freezing on the spot when he sees whats happening. Harry is lying on the floor, writhing in pain, scratching at himself, and screaming, his voice hoarse. Draco glances at Ron and Hermione, who have left the room behind him. Draco transforms into his animagus form, walking over to Harry and curling up next to him. Harry relaxes a little at the contact but screams again when a fresh wave of pain overcomes him. For Draco, it's very different as a dog. His hearing is ten times louder, and so is his scent. His eyesight is slightly worse, but he can still see several feet ahead of him. He is also more sensitive to touch, which is why he shivers when Harry places his hand on Draco's back. Draco is willing to bet that his taste is better, but now is not the time to test it out. Harry starts thrashing, his voice now gone, only whines and howls coming out. Draco raises his head. Where are Ron and Hermione? They should be back by now, and Draco won't be able to control a fully grown werewolf by himself. Draco rests his head on Harry's stomach, licking his hand, which he was excessivly scratching. Harry lifts his head to look at Draco, tears running down his face, but he still weakly smiles at the black dog next to him. Draco hears the door open, whipping his head around.

Hermione and Ron are standing there, bandages and books in their arms. They put the items on the floor, turning into their animagi forms, and coming to rest beside Harry. Ron walks over to Harry's opposite side, lying down but ready to pounce. Hermione flutters over to Harry's head, fanning his face with her wings. All of a sudden, Harry howls so loudly that everyone jumps back. Harry sits up, attempting to curl in on himself. But his bones are busy reforming to listen to his command. Harry throws himself into a corner, scratching at the walls. His body shoots up, growing larger. His clothes rip to pieces, fur covering his body. His face longates, a snout forming at the end. His limbs snap and reform into better-suited ones, getting longer. His eyes close before bursting open with one last howl. He falls to the floor, growling and whimpering at the others. Harry tentively sniffs the air before turning to Draco. Draco acts on instinct, sniffing his way over to Harry, who seems much better now and is bounding around playfully. Ron and Hermione share strange looks before Hermione flies up and circles the room. Ron follows Draco but freezes when Harry growls at him. Draco approches, feeling more comfortable. It looks like he's right; the potion didn't work. Harry hops over to Draco, playfully barking and jumping around. Draco wags his tail, responding with what he knew was being said, but was coming out as barks and growls. Harry glances at Ron before sniffing at the door. He looks over to Hermione, who sweeps out of the room. Harry's tounge rolls out his mouth as he sprints after the brown owl, Ron and Draco right on his heels. Harry runs into the fields next to he shack, barking happily. Draco spots Hermione swooping ahead, leading Harry somewhere. Draco realises they are heading to the forest, not the forbidden one, but the one next to Hogsmead. Draco privately worries what they will do if any villagers see them, but he shrugs it off, being reassured that they are going in the forest, not through the town. He chases after Harry, wondering what will come next.
