Potter?

As Draco arrives for his job, he hears a commotion. He turns to his right and sees a group of Aurors shoving a man, who has his hands tied behind him, up the path to the higher floors.

That man looked familiar.. wait. No. Could it be?..

Draco's eyes follow the group, he decides to follow them, his shift doesn't start for an hour anyway. He sees that they are heading to the fourth floor, where The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures is, and he finds that odd. Draco shakes his head and continues to follow them, keeping a good distance. He follows them through a series of hallways before they come to a stop at a long hallway, full of holding cells for,

Werewolves? But the full moon was yesterday? Why are they taking this man down here?

Draco hides behind a corner, he has a good enough view to see the man's face. The Aurors laugh as the man stumbles into the cell. They untie his hands but immediately chain them to the chains that hand from the walls. The man cries out in pain as they throw him on the ground. Draco stays there, heart beating as the Aurors take the man's glasses and search his pockets, taking his wand as well. After they finish searching him, one kicks him in the stomach, causing him to cry out again in pain. The Aurors laugh at him before leaving him in the cell. Draco approaches the cell after they leave. He peaks in the door. His eyes widen.

What? How- why is he here?

Draco quickly leaves before the man can see him, taking the stairs three at a time. He slows his pace as he reaches the main floor. The Aurors who threw him in the cell were at the front desk. Draco walks around the desk to the elevator, heading to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He enters the elevator and presses the button. It begins to climb before coming to a stop at another floor. A tall man enters. It's Weasley.

"Morning Malfoy," Ron grunts, stepping into the elevator.

"Morning Weasley," Draco replies. He remembers the man and decides to tell Ron.

"Weasley. This morning when I walked out of the floo, a group of Aurors were hoarding a man to the werewolf holding cells." He pauses,

"Why do I need to know this Malfoy?" Ron replies, looking quite annoyed.

"Because the man they were dragging was Potter." Draco finishes.

"What!? Why on earth were they taking Harry down there?" Ron turns around, looking at Draco.

"How am I supposed to know? I just saw them dragging him and decided to tell you." The elevator stopped at the 2nd floor, and he walked out. Ron followed him.

"Do you know where he is?"

"They took him to the 4th floor, to the werewolf holding cells." Draco walked to his office and sat down at his desk, Ron sat down opposite him.

"Weasley I would like to know why you are following me instead of going and doing your job."

"I can't just do my job knowing my best friend is down in the werewolf cells! I need to tell Hermione, she'll know what to do. Thanks for telling me Malfoy."

"Sure Weasley. See you."

Ron walked out. Draco sat there, feeling confused. He shook his head and turned to a stack of papers on his desk, they're the reports of the death eater attacks over the last year. Draco files through them, before putting them in his desk drawer for later investigation. Someone entered his office. Draco looks up from his desk. Its James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Regulus Black.

"Hello. What can I do for you?" Draco says, summoning some extra chairs.

"Don't play dumb Draco, we know you know that Harry has been taken by the Ministry," James says, sitting down in one of the seats.

"And? I saw him being dragged by a few Aurors but I dont know why. Care to fill me in?" Draco rolls his eyes.

"Remus bit him last night, but they took him for no reason," Sirius replies. Draco's eyes widen.

"Okay, I can see why they took him, but they didn't have the right to do that. It's past the full moon, it would only make sense if it was before or during." Draco clears his desk to make room for a large file. He flicks through it before closing it and putting it away.

"Yep, there's no other record of any werewolf being taken into custody after the full moon." Draco resumes his seat.

"So what do we do? We've already told the Creature Council but they said they couldn't do anything else than register him as a werewolf." Remus' voice said, thick from clearly crying.

Sirius wraps his arms around Remus protectively.

"So what do we do?" Sirius asks.

"Well, you would have to talk to one of the higher Aurors or maybe even the Minister. But after that, it's up to them. Let's hope this doesn't get out to the prophet, or everyone will act like Voldemorts back." Draco replies.

Everyone murmurs their agreement.

"So what's the plan? We can let them keep Harry there for long." James asks.

"I'll go and talk to Ron. He is a high-level figure. Did anyone know he's going back to Hogwarts to finish 7th year?" Sirius announces. Everyone shakes their head.

"Harry was planning on going back too, he's already sent Minerva a letter. What about you Draco?" Remus asks.

"Im going back to finish my education, then ill go forward in my Auror careree path." Draco replies.

"Well, I better go talk to Ron. I'll see you at home." Sirius says, waving everyone off.

"Draco, come with me. You are the witness after all." Sirius drags Draco out of his chair and walks to Ron's office. Draco rolls his eyes at his uncle's shenanigans and follows him. They knock on Ron's door, and a deep voice from inside says 'Come in.' They open the door to be met with Kingsley, Ron, and Hermione.

"Malfoy, is it true you witnessed Harry being dragged to the cells?" Kingsley asks, authority booming from his voice.

"Yes sir. I was walking out of the floo when I heard a commotion. I looked behind me and saw a group of Aurors dragging Harry to the holding cells." Draco replies.

"Do you know why Harry was taken there?" Kingsley asks.

"He was bitten Sir, by Remus John Lupin. Yesterday night." Sirius replies.

Kingsley nods, glancing over at Sirius before turning his attention to the wall of books Ron had in his office. He brings out a large file, similar to the one Draco has in his office, and flicks through it. He sighs and puts it back on the shelf before turning to the others.

"The Aurors were not eligible to do this. They took Mr Potter out of his house without permission. Let's go visit him." He says, turning to the door.

Draco, Ron, Hermione, and Sirius all follow him down to the holding cells. They walk for a while before arriving at the one Draco saw the Aurors throw Harry in. They all spot him at once. He is slumped against the wall, chains holding up his arms. His face is scratched and his leg looks broken. Blood is dribbling down from his head, and his hands look deeply scratched. He is unconscious and unresponsive till Hermione walks towards him and brings a hand to his eyes. Harry's eyes suddenly flutter open, he took a gasping breath. His eyes dart around frantically before they come to rest on Hermione's face.

"'Mione! What are you doing here?" Harry murmurs, his voice crackly.

"We came to check on you. Draco told Ron that he saw you being dragged by Aurors to the holding cells. Then Ron came to tell me and Kingsley. We're going to figure this out, Harry." Hermione helps him sit up properly. He winces as he moves.

"Harry, is it true you got bitten by Mr Lupin yesterday during his transformation?" Kingsley asks.

Harry nods. Hermione sits next to him on the floor, holding his hand supportively.

"And is it true that you didn't transform, despite it being the full moon?" Kingsley continues.

Harry nods again, looking down at the floor.

"I went to check on him when I heard him scream. I saw him lying there on the floor, blood spilling out of the bite mark on his arm. Remus was hunched over him, already transformed back to human. In the morning though, he didn't remember doing anything to Harry. Harry stayed unconscious for hours till about 11 when he woke up. The mark is still on his arm." Sirius says, looking at Kingsley.

"Harry, can you lift your sleeve to show us the bite?" Kinglsey asks.

"Well, I can't really do that considering I'm chained to the wall," Harry said, spitting out blood on the floor.

Kingsley waved his wand at the chains and they released Harry. Harry rubs his wrists before lifting his sleeve to show the mark. It's still healing, all red and raw. The teeth marks trail around his bicep, and a bruise is forming. Harry winces as he pulls the sleeve up, the fabric rubbing against the still-tender skin. Kinglsey summons a camera and begins to take photos of the bite, documenting it from every angle. After he finishes, he puts the camera in his pocket and straightens up.

"It has been brought to my attention that you plan on returning to Hogwarts to complete your 8th year, correct?" Kingsley asks.

"Yes Sir. I want to finish my education." Harry replies, pulling his sleeve back over the bite mark.

"Because of this scenario, Minerva will have to be informed and she must allow you to return. If you do get permission, you will have to have an Auror accompanying you. It would have to be Mr. Malfoy here, he is the ideal candidate. It cannot be Mr Weasley as he is too close to you. Minerva told me that 8th years will all be sharing one dormitory, despite what house they are in. I can owl Minerva asking to put you and Mr Malfoy in the same dorm so he can keep an eye on you. This is not up for debate, this will be the only way you can return to Hogwarts. I trust you to figure out your transformations during the full moon. You may leave. Your wand is at reception. Good day." At this, Kingsley left the others and went to his office.

Hermione recovers first, helping Harry stand up and healing his bruises and cuts. Draco stands still next to the door, all dreams of a normal last year vanished from his mind. Draco locks eyes with Harry, who gives Draco a slight smile before he winces and lets Hermione help him walk. Draco and Ron stare at each other before following them. The group walks upstairs, Draco casting a disguise charm on Harry to not let people know who he is, and walks to the floo. Sirius grabs a handful of floo powder before letting Hermione and Harry go first. He sends them to Grimmauld Place before sending Ron there as well. He turns to Draco.

"You coming? You are now Harry's official chaperone."

Draco nods, and steps into the flames with Sirius sending them to, most likely, Draco's doom.

What have I gotten myself into? He thinks as the flames transport them to a room of very angry people.
