How Harry got bitten.
It's the second full moon before Harry returns to Hogwarts. They ran out of potion.
"Remus, please stop struggling!" Harry yells at Remus, who is pulling at the chains that connect him to the wall in the basement of Grimmauld Place.
They ran out of Wolfbane potion last moon, and Snape didn't have enough time to brew more. Remus is in full wolf mode, having no control over his body. Sirius went upstairs to clean his wounds from trying to communicate with Remus. Harry is standing just out of Remus' reach, against the door of the room they were in. The chains rattle as Remus pulls against them, trying to get near Harry.
"Sirius!?" Harry yells, but he can't hear his own voice over Remus' growls and barks. Suddenly the chains snap, breaking from the wall.
Oh shit, this isn't going to end well.
"SIRIUS!" Harry screams before he feels a sharp pain in his arm, and blacks out.
Harry wakes up hours later. He is lying on his bed, with no memory of what happened and how he got there. He tries to sit up, but his arm sends out a shock of pain, causing him to yell in pain. He lays back down on his bed and closes his eyes, sucking in deep breaths. His memory comes back in a flash.
The chains breaking
Remus bounding at him
A sharp pain in his arm
Blacking out
Harry groans and shakes his head. Suddenly, his door creaks open. Sirius is standing there, a scar running down his cheek from where Remus scratched him last night. Sirius walks over to Harry's bed and sits down beside him.
"Harry, do you remember what happened last night?" He asks, worry leaking in his voice.
Harry nods. Sirius takes a breath, smiling weakly.
"Do you know what this means then?" He asks.
Harry shakes his head. Sirius takes another deep breath, looking Harry in his eyes.
"It means, you are a werewolf, Harry. Remus bit you last night, turning you into one." Tears stream down Sirius's face.
He quickly wipes them away, waiting for Harry's reaction. Harry clears his throat.
"Where is he? Is he alright?" He croaks out.
Sirius nods.
"He is downstairs, making breakfast. I dont think he remembers what happened. He doesn't remember that he bit you." Sirius gets up and walks to the window.
Harry coughs, as he tries to move to a sitting position. Sirius hurries back and helps him, handing him his glasses and a cup of water. Harry puts his glasses on and takes a sip of water.
"Can you bring him up here, please? I need to talk to him, Sirius." Harry pleads.
"Fine, but let me tell him what happened. Okay?" Sirius asks, "Then I'll floo James and Lily. They can behave this once when their son is hurting." Sirius smiles and heads out the door.
Harry can hear his footsteps all the way down the stairs. He sighs and takes another drink of water. After a while, he hears 2 sets of footsteps walking up the stairs. He straightens up, just as the door bursts open, showing a teary-faced Remus with a tired-faced Sirius behind him. Remus walks over to Harry's bed and crouches down next to it.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry Bambi. I didn't mean to, I'm so sorry. What have I done?" Remus whispers, sobs chocking his words.
Harry reaches out for Remus and pulls him into a tight embrace. Remus shakes with sobs as he clings to Harry.
"Im so sorry Harry, i had no idea. I didn't mean to. Im so sorry. James will kill me." He whispers against Harry's shoulder.
"Its okay Remus, I forgive you. You had no control. Its not your fault. James will forgive you, its okay Remus." Harry murmers, trying to calm Remus down.
A second pair of arms enjoy the embrace. Harry looks up to see Sirius looking fondly at Remus. They lock eyes and weakly smile at each other before relaxing against the hug. They stand there for a while before Sirius has to leave to floo Lily and James. Remus eventually goes with him, after multiple apologies and multiple assurances that he had been forgiven. Harry leans back down and rests against his pillows. What a night, he thinks. Harry closes his eyes and drifts off to sleep, wondering what morning will bring.
Also, what will he tell his friends?
