BOOK I, SUMMER - Interlude
An act for the Statute of Secrecie of Magick and Fellow Life in the Countries and Colonies of Their Majesties and Beyond
Whereas in and by one Act of this present Wizengamot Entituled a Statute of Secrecie for final and enduring protection of all Wizards from the Persecution, Immolation, and Crucifixion from the wicked Hands of spiritual Fellowmen and for the continued Prosperity of all England, we do so Proclaim that onwards from 31 December of this Year a complete and total Prohibition on any Communication, Correspondence, or Intercourse between Magickmen and Fellowmen through any observable Manner, in all Countries and Colonies bearing the Crown, in accordance with the 1689 Summit held by the Confederation of Wizards and Passage of the Provisional Secrecy Act in 1689.
The Enforcement of Secrecy shall be carried out between most special Wizzards and Bodies of Governance and as a matter most delicate we do so write therein and thereby to Nominate Constitute and Appoint Persons being Resident and haveing Reall Estates to maintain the Ministry of Magic to work in Concert with Their Majestyes and Parlyament on the aforementioned Enforcement of the Act as well as the Management of Ships and Commerce to the Colonyes. The Ministry of Magic may levy a Tax on all registered Wizards for their continued Secrecy, and may request Aide from Parlyament as needed. Parlyament may request the Aide of the Magick Art and Wizardry in great Crisis.
The Separation of England into Wizard and Fellowman is a designation made with great Care; we confer ‘Fellowman’ on any persons with no Wizzard parents, one Wizard Grandfather, or one Wizzard grandmother; we confer ‘Wizard’ on Followers of the Arts of Magick, Studies Divine or Diabolical, comprising all Conjurors, Magicians, Necrommancers, Witches, Wizzards, Warlucks, and Inchanters, or persons with at least one Wizard father, two Wizard grandfathers, one Witch mother, or two Witch Grandmothers and can confirm their Register with Speaker of the Wizengamot Lord Ralston Potter at his Estate in Godric’s Hollow, in a period from this day until this day next year.
Whereupon Doubt and Question hath arisen whether or how the said Act may be executed in such places Therefore for certaine Declaration and Supply of the Law in this behalfe Be it Enacted by the Chief Warluck and the King and Queens most Excellent Majesties by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords most Noble Malfoy, Potter, Dumbledore, Ollivander and Black and Commons in the Wizengamot Assembled and by Authoritie of the same, and henceforth in the New Year let it be split our moste excellent England two Christian Worlds, one Wizard and one Fellowman, for swaddled in a magickal Miste most fine and fraternal of Separation and Secrecy, Wizzard and Fellowman, may our Lambs grow fat, our Coffers heavy, and may God and Country have mercy on us all.
