Hogwarts' Letter
Months flew by and Theo was 11-years-old while Harry was 10-years-old, his birthday just a few days away. They had both grown, the plentiful food doing wonders for Harry’s health. Theo’s hair now reached his shoulders and was tied at the back. Harry had once questioned Theo why he never ventured outside.
“It’s for my safety, just until I turn 11 and receive my Hogwarts’ letter.” He had commented then.
Theo was now waiting for Harry to receive his own letter before they entered the wixen district for their supplies.
His own scar occupied the right side of his face and resembled a sowilo. It was a pale silver that went from his hairline to the bottom of his eyes.
Theo had called it “dashing”, “a mark of a survivor, a winner”.
He had explained that in their culture, scars are seen as marks of honor, a sign that they had survived against all odds.
Harry had grown a bit more fonder of his scars since then.
They were laying on the warm grass, sunlight peeking through the clouds, when Theo first heard the quiet hoot. Harry turned out to find a grey owl staring at him, after perhaps realizing that its presence was discovered, the owl hooted again and flew closer to Harry and extended its left leg forward attached to which was a letter
His Hogwarts’ letter, Harry realized in quiet wonderment.
He leaned forward to receive his letter while Theo summoned a bag of owl treats and fed the owl. He also summoned their own previously written letter of acceptance and tied it in the owl’s leg. The owl hooted twice in thanks and flew away.
“It’s my Hogwarts letter.” Harry excitedly turned to face Theo.
“When do you want to go out to pick out the supplies? We have a month to prepare.” Theo commented.
Harry moved to stand up, the buzzing energy in his body too strong for him to be able to stand still.
Theo moved to stand with him.
Harry grabbed his shoulders and jumped with joy, “we’re gonna get our wands and learn more magic.”
Theo moved to discreetly direct him back into the torp.
“We can leave in 2 days after having lunch.” They met Vivian at the door.
Harry bounced up to show her his letter. “Aunt Vivian, I got my letter. Look look.”
Vivian patted his shoulder, and Harry slowly calmed down. “Come on boys, it's time to celebrate. How do you young people celebrate anyway?”
Harry and Theo moved to follow Vivian inside as she led them into the dining room. Vivian opened the door and went in. As soon as Harry and Theo entered, confetti and glitter fell on them. Harry laughed with delight and turned to see Theo trying to remove the confetti in his hair while attempting to blow a stray strand of hair out of his face.
“Why are you glitter-free Vivian? I’ll get glitter everywhere now.” Theo complained.
Vivian simply laughed at that, “of course it’s because Vivian is fabulous.”
Theo simply sighed and gave up trying to remove anymore confetti, there was simply too many too tiny. Harry laughed at that too.
He moved to poke Theo’s cheek and then showed him that same finger, “look now your glitter boy, glitter Theo. Or does ‘Glitter boy: Sparkly Theo edition’ sound better,” Harry mused.
Theo moved to grab Harry’s finger and then went to poke his forehead. “What does that make you then. Glitter boy: Shorty edition?” Theo quipped back.
“Hey!” Harry complained as he moved to cover his forehead with both his hands, “I just haven't had my growth spurt yet!”
Vivian clapped her hands to get both their attention. Both the boys turned to look at her as she pointedly looked at the empty chairs and to a cake on the table.
Harry moved to sit and asked, “what’s this?”
Theo moved to sit beside him and replied, “Kvæfjord cake”
“Mmm,” Vivian agreed, “and Vivian added strawberry on one half and dark chocolate on the other. Both of your favorites.”
“Aunt Vivian, are you sure that you’re not some god of cooking?” Harry questioned.
Vivian laughed, “Vivian would rather be the god of slumber.”
“You just like sleeping, Vivian.” Theo commented, his spoon lazily pointing at her.
“Nothing beats a good sleep, young master Theo.” Vivian replied, smiling, elbows on the table, face in her hands. “Vivian is sure that you would miss it when you start school.”
“Books are fascinating.” Theo stated.
“So is sleep.” Vivian relied.
Harry just stared at both of them, enjoying his own slice of cake.
“Ahem,” Theo cleared his throat, “Harry and I are planning to go visit Diagon Alley in 2 days, after lunch.”
“Oh that’s fantastic, be sure to visit the bank first and take the second ride.” Vivian said.
“Alright. Should we bring something back for you?” Theo asked.
“An ice cream would be delightful, be sure to pick a white one. That would be fantastic. Oh, and could you pick up the new update in the bookstore, ‘The runaway priestess’, ‘The love story of a potion maker who loves singing’... you know what, never mind Vivian would write it all down and give it to young master Theo later.” Vivian stated with a final nod.

The glitter really was hard to remove. It stayed for days even with all the cleaning spells and washing. Theo almost cried when he found that the glitter had somehow traveled to the library and contaminated some of the books.
Harry silently walked away.
