Chapter 1
Walburga used to visit graves with her children, show them all their ancestors, even sometimes spit on some 'mudbloods'. She used to take them when they were very little, they would go whilst regulus was sleeping, Sirius used to beg her to put regulus to sleep just so he could get to the cemetery quicker, so when regulus went down to sleep she would put a jacket on both Sirius and herself before taking his hand and apparating to the family graveyard.
Walburga would sit there with Sirius rested on one knee and recount any experience she had with the now deceased relatives, when she thought it was time to go home she would tell him historical facts about the noble house of black and that would put him to sleep at ease. When they would get home she would place Sirius in his bed and check on her resting baby.
By the time regulus got old enough to understand the information told to him, walburga had turned cold, no longer having a bond with either of her sons.
When Sirius ran away, their mother finally took regulus to the graveyard—the tapestry.
The family tapestry was the biggest graveyard of them all, they killed even those who were still alive, now it was Sirius' turn to be placed into that graveyard.
Regulus watched at his mother took out her wand and spoke the words "incendio" softly but cold and cruel—it was too bad that she was so cruel, her voice was a lovely sound to listen to, that was until the screeching comes along.
When regulus died, walburga never went to the tapestry to burn him off, she didn't truly believe he had died, regulus was strong, regulus wouldn't go missing randomly, regulus wouldn't want to be known as dead until he was proven to be dead-not just some muggle radio that said he had died. Walburga knew what regulus wanted, she knows where his loyalty lies.
Or so she thought.
Walburga only visited the graveyard that day because it was her grandmother's birthday and she came to give her a bouquet of black roses when she saw another figure a couple grave beds away.
She thought she knew where his loyalty lies, until she saw Euphemia potter place flowers at her son's tombstone. Walburga hated the fact regulus even had a tombstone but her husband believed he was dead and honestly didn't care whether regulus was still alive or not, he was barely alive himself, Orion was hanging on by a thread, about to drop dead any second.
'How dare she show her face at my sons grave.' The tall, lanky woman thought as she scoffed "oh, hello walburga!" Euphemia waved "I am ever so sorry for your loss" walburga just sucked on her teeth before speaking "how dare you come here." It seemed Euphemia was taken aback from that sentence but she shouldn't have expected any more. "Walburga, I ensure you, I understand how you may be feeling and I'm so sorry for your loss." The tan woman spoke but walburga just turned her head away "how would you know how it feels to lose your children." Euphemia was not expecting that. "How would you know!?" Walburga screamed at the woman "I have children of my own too, I can't imagine losing them." That sentence got walburga to snap her head to look at the woman "of your own? Of your own?! You call MY son your own?!" Euphemia didn't even realise she had called Sirius that, she's so used to calling him her own that it slips out, guess she shouldn't have said that in front of his biological mother. "I'm sor-" she began "you're not sorry! If you were sorry- I'd have my boys back!" She didn't even know she had been crying until euphemia made a shushing sound like as if she was a child "maybe I don't understand you- but I do feel sorry, I feel terrible." She reached out to embrace the black haired woman but she jumped back "Wally.." walburga's eyes shot open "I know you don't like to be called that, but I need you to know that I am here." Finally, she wrapped her hands around her past friend "I don't think I will ever feel how you feel but I will do my best to help." Walburga then jumped back "No! Do not touch me! Do not try to pity me! You took my son from me! Effie! How would you like it if I took James from you?! Your first child, your only source of love?!" She screamed but the other woman just stood there and took it. "Wally, if that's how you show love then I think I do not want to be loved" Walburga closed her mouth and her eyebrows relaxed for a second only to be turned into a sad expression "what.. I did love my children! How dare you say I did not!" Her face changed to a anger once more "how- how could you say that!.." the witch's voice strained "Sirius had told me everything, everything he's been through, everything you've done." Walburga stepped back as euphemia spoke with spite in her voice now "you- you're a blood traitor. How am I supposed to listen to you?!" It's almost like euphemia didn't take any offence to that, she just furrowed her eyebrows "and you're exactly like the rest of them." Walburga stared at her for a minute "I will continue to visit this grave, whether I run into you or not, regulus was a good kid- despite the things he's done" and without another word, she apparated away.
Walburga stood there stunned before taking off her jacket and setting it on fire. The warmth of the fire kept her warm as it started to rain, conveniently right after she removed her jacket, regulus was probably laughing as he let it rain on her, ruining all her makeup she had neatly applied.
The rain began putting out the fire, leaving the jacket which had only partially burned.
