James is fuming, this is unacceptable. He bites his lip enough to almost draw blood, he is certainly planning a murder in his head, maybe he should slit his throat so that way he no longer has a voice to speak to him or he should perhaps gouge his eyes with a spoon that way he would never lay his eyes on Regulus. This is all impossible, however, because Regulus in all his kindness and softness has forbidden him from touching even a hair in his best friend's body, and said best friend, Barty, is very smug about all of this. It seems he has made it his life mission to piss James off in every way possible.
This started a few weeks ago when James asked Reg who his first kiss was (in hindsight he wishes he never did) and Regulus replied as cool as ever that it was Barty and they had a 'thing' for a while before Barty eventually got into a relationship with Evan. This, of course, was devastating to James because, besides his boyfriend, Barty is always more affectionate with Reg than some of their friends, constantly touching and kisses on the cheek, things Regulus Black would kill anyone else for doing but he never complains to Barty Crouch fucking Junior and James has always thought that it is just friends being friends and really who is he to judge when it comes to affection between best friends, anyone who knows him and his friends knows that they are so much worse than his boyfriend and his best friend.
But the problem is since learning of such information he has never been able to fully rest when he sees Barty with his arms around his boyfriend and for some reason, Reg doesn't only understand his dilemma but he is finding the entire thing funny and James is fuming he at least wants to punch Crouch but he can't do such without his boyfriend being mad at him and he can't have that no matter the circumstance.
He is so deep into his murder plan that he doesn't even hear Reg calling him "James"
He speaks a little louder " James" and finally he can hear him.
He shakes his head as if it can get rid of his thoughts and looks at his boyfriend and smiles because really there is nothing more beautiful than his boyfriend in the entire world.
"yes love"
"Come with me and stop murdering Barty in your head"
"I have no idea what you're talking about"
Reg gives him a look that says he's full of bullshit and frowns
"Look your reaction is very hot but I worry that maybe one day you will actually carry, the no less than a hundred plans, you've surely made out and actually murder my best friend and I cannot have that because I will miss him"
James frowns and then smiles when it dawns on him that really he has nothing to worry about because Regulus Black loves him, and he might not trust Barty but he trusts his boyfriend more than anyone and that is enough. A part of him however might forever be jealous that Barty was the first person to taste Regs' sweet sweet lips and that is fine for now.
He places a kiss on Regulus' cheek and replies with " I love you baby and I promise I won't kill your best friend only because I would also be devasted if your brother would to die"
This earns him a warm chuckle and a kiss and they decide to walk out of the Great Hall and head for the dorms as they get to spend the entire day together today, hopefully with no distractions as they are going to the head boy dorm but with friends like theirs, peace is never really guaranteed but one can only hope.
