Regulus Arcturus Black was the sole pride of his family. Once his brother Sirius had been disowned he became the sole heir of the Ancient and Noble House of Black. A title every pureblood family would envy and try to marry into. This life would seem delightful to others but for him it was far from that. One slip up and you were a disgrace to the family name.
Soon enough his family was deeply involved with the Dark Lord, otherwise known as Voldermort. Forced to receive the dark mark and become a Death Eater, he soon enough found out about the Horcruxes. The dark lord had split his soul into multiple objects to ensure his life would be safe.
He knew about one, only one but he knew where it was hidden, and he planned to destroy it.
Apparateing felt terrible, it was like being sucked through a tight rubber tube that you logically would never be able to fit through. He landed roughly in the long, damp grass near the edge of the Cliffs of Moher. He stumbled forwards to the cliff edge, slowly making his way to the bottom. Shortly he’d arrived at the bottom of the cliff, the rough ocean lapping at the bottom of the cliff face.
Regulus walked along the bottom of the cliff, along the sharp, jagged rocks to be greeted with an unsettling, dark cave. He stared into the dark abyss of the cave for a few minutes before venturing into the cave. He walked through the cave only to come to a solid rock wall. He knew that in order to gain passage a payment must be made. He grabbed a small blade from his pocket and sliced his hand, smearing the blood onto the rock wall. A loud rumbling sound began, as the cave wall began to crumble and fall.
He walked through the newly made tunnel, looking around at the crystal like rocks. He then spotted a lone rowboat at the shore of the cave. I climbed aboard it rowing to a small rocky island near the other side of the cave. He climbed out of the rowboat, onto the island, walking to the top of it. He looked at a glass like rectangular prism, with a dark grey liquid in the hollowed out top. The Emerald Potion, otherwise known as the Potion of Despair, known to cause extreme pain, fear, delirium and thirst would have to be drunk in order to retrieve the Horcrux.
Regulus picked up a shell like cup, scooping up the potion with it and bringing it up towards his mouth. He began to drink the liquid easily with no problems. He kept drinking more until the agonising pain began to set in. He felt like he was being torn from the insides out as he stumbled over hitting his head roughly on the ground. Regulus rolled over into the freezing water.
He felt something grab into his leg dragging him down, deeper and deeper into the water. He looked down below him, spotting hundreds of Inferi surrounding him and grabbing onto him. He couldn’t breathe anymore as his lungs began to fill with water. Slowly his vision began to darken before a bright flash of light was seen above the water. He stopped breathing, he was dead.
