Dance With Me?

It was a long dreary night, his eyes burned with anticipation. He wasn’t going to miss this, not for the world.

How has it been a year since she died? A year since he held her in his arms.

His body shook with grief as sobs escaped him. He missed the way she made him laugh, the way her smile brightened any room she walked into. He missed how she danced around barefoot through the manor. He even missed the little looks she would give when she would lecture him. Merlin, he missed her.

The clock in the study chimed three times, he nearly tripped as he scrambled up out of his chair. There across the room materialized the most beautiful women he’d even laid eyes on.

Tears welled in his eyes, “You’re as beautiful as ever my love,” she was wearing the same blue sundress he’d last seen her in, her long chestnut curls billowing down her back, and she was barefoot just as he remembered.

She smiled brightly at him, giggling at his flattery. “Will you dance with me Draco?” She reached her hand out to him, and he gladly accepted pulling her close, never wanting to let her go.

He hummed a melody softly in her ear as they danced, enjoying the time they had together. They swayed to the music, basking in each other's embrace. She pulled away slightly looking up at him.

“I love you Draco, but my time is almost up,” she was crying now.

He wiped away her tears, pulling her into a kiss, full of love and passion. “There isn’t enough time in the world, I will always love you, in this lifetime and the next Hermione.”

The old clock chimed four times and they knew their time was over, Hermione disappeared right in front of him.

She was gone, and Draco Malfoy was all alone again.
