My mother says sorry in a different tone, in this Other nation.
Her other words are caressed by two different worlds: home country and now.
But sorry- sorry is purely from this Other nation.
Is it that she only had to apologise for everything once coming here?
Sorry for my clothes
Accent
Food
Different way of life
That gives her the harsh R sound in her words
Clean and unhappy
rather than rounded and soft like I'm used to get hearing.
