A Reunion Under Moonlight
Tranquility had always been careful. His life in the Sun Kingdom demanded it. As the son of the Moon Queen and the Sun King, he was expected to uphold the balance of both celestial realms. Yet, when he heard that Reiko was on Earth, training at Hogwarts instead of residing in the Reidar Kingdom as he had thought, he could not stay away.
Disguising himself with a simple hooded cloak and using the magic his mother had secretly taught him, he slipped through the royal defenses and traveled to Earth. The moment his feet touched the soil of the planet, he felt an odd sense of familiarity, as if the world itself welcomed him. But his thoughts were only on one thing—finding Reiko.
He knew she would be at Hogwarts, but breaking into the castle unnoticed was another challenge entirely. Fortunately, his own magic was suited for stealth. The golden glow of his sun magic faded into the shadows as he made his way through the Forbidden Forest, guided only by the bond he shared with Reiko.
Reiko had been training late into the night. Clow, Yue, and Cerberus had given her and Syaoran a grueling lesson that left her exhausted yet exhilarated. After returning to her chambers in the hidden estate where she stayed with Clow, she decided to sneak out for fresh air, wandering toward the garden under the light of the full moon.
It was there that she heard the soft rustle of footsteps. Instinctively, she turned, magic sparking at her fingertips. "Who's there?"
A familiar laugh met her ears, one that sent a rush of warmth through her chest. "Is that any way to greet an old friend?"
Reiko gasped as Tranquility lowered his hood, his golden eyes shining with amusement. "Tranquility! What are you doing here? You’re supposed to be in the Sun Kingdom!" she whispered fiercely, though a wide smile spread across her face.
He grinned, stepping closer. "And you were supposed to stay in the Reidar Kingdom, but here you are. I had to see you. It’s been too long."
Reiko’s expression softened as she took in the sight of him. It had been years since they last met, but he was still the same—bright like the sun, warm and unwavering. Without thinking, she threw her arms around him. "You idiot! What if someone had caught you?"
Tranquility laughed, hugging her back. "You worry too much. I had to make sure you were alright. I’ve heard stories about Hogwarts, and I wanted to see for myself how you were doing."
She pulled back, her eyes twinkling. "You crossed the galaxy just to check on me?"
He smirked. "And to remind you that I still owe you a rematch from our last swordfight."
Reiko scoffed, punching his arm playfully. "As if you stand a chance now. I've been training with Yue."
Tranquility raised an eyebrow. "Then let’s find out, shall we?"
The two laughed, the worries of their respective kingdoms momentarily forgotten. For now, under the moonlight, they were simply two childhood friends, reunited once more.
