“My love was as cruel as the cities I live in” Regulus sung into the microphone letting his jet black hair float in the wind as his words float around the arena.
If you had told James two year ago that he would be on tour with his boyfriend, who is his best friends brother, listening to him sing a song he wrote about him he would of told you to fuck right off and to stop being delusional. But here he is. Stood at the side of the stage watching Regulus sing to nearly 20,000 people in his nicely tailored suit as if it was something he done everyday before breakfast- well regulus didn’t eat breakfast so before dinner.
“Maybe you ran with the wolves and refused to settle down” Regulus’s voice smooth and steady as the crowd screamed the words back to him, “Maybe I stormed out of every single room in this town”
God, Regulus was amazing. He was like a fresh breeze on a hot summers day. Or the rain which came after a horrific drought. Whatever he was James was mesmerised by him. If James had to choose someone to meet in every life time over and over again it would be Regulus, James would fall in love with Regulus over and over again if he could.
“I once believed love would be, black and white” It was as if Regulus’s words were hypnotising James, the way he moved effortlessly around stage or how the words left his mouth with such elegance and emotion , “but it’s golden”
“Like daylight”
This was James’s favourite part, the way Regulus used a metaphor comparing James to daylight. He very vividly remembers when regulus was explaining the meaning behind the lyric to him.
“You’re my daylight Jamie. Your my sun” Regulus told him, “ Without the sun the crops would die, without it people wouldn’t be able to see, without it the world wouldn’t be able to work.”
James could feel his heart practically explode with love for regulus, the fact he feels this strongly about James is making his day and the smile on his face proves it.
James admires the slight blush on Regulus’s cheeks as he continues to explain the meaning behind the words, “You are my sun Jamie. I wouldn’t be able to… to survive without you”
“I’ve been sleeping so long in a twenty-year dark night” Regulus continued to sing as his fans shouted the words back, some of them even crying out of pure joy, “and now I see daylight, I only see daylight.”
