Chapter One
~Sorry, I don't want your touch
It's not that I don't want you
Sorry, I can't take your touch
There's a hole that you fill
You fill, you fill
But it's just that I fell in love with a war
And nobody told me it ended
And it left a pearl in my head
And I roll it around every night
Just to watch it glow~
Harry and Draco had been together for a few months at this point. Their relationship wasn’t bad- no it was the opposite. It was just difficult for both parties to be used to being loved. Harry was so used to the Dursley family's constant abuse, and Draco was used to his sole purpose being to continue living in place of his father. Together they tried working it out, but it was still hard.
They managed to both sneak into the Slytherin dorms and were laying on Draco's bed cuddled close. None of Dracos roommates were there so they had the entire room to themselves. Despite that, they lay in silence, the occasional shift of the sheets beneath one of them being the only sound to disrupt the silence.
They had been like this for around an hour, just appreciating each other's presence. It was nice. However, Harry decided to interrupt the silence.
‘Draco?’ He aid said softly.
‘Yeah?’ Draco found himself responding, shifting to face his boyfriend.
Do you ever wonder what would happen if someone found out about us?’
There is a moment of silence before Draco opens his mouth to speak.
‘Well, no. But if people did, I think my father would murder me.’
Harry doesn’t bother a response, knowing that Draaco is right. He nuzzles his head against Draco's hair. His hand finds its way to Dracos, but to his dismay, Draco pulls back.
‘Harry.’ He starts. ‘Why did you ask?’
‘I just wanted to know. People might catch on eventually.’
'Yeah, might. They won’t though.’ Draco seems so sure of it. ‘I can’t have anyone else know.’
‘But how are we supposed to keep this a secret forever? It’s basically impossible.’
Draco sits up and backs away slightly.
‘Are you saying that you want everyone to know?’
‘I just think it’d be nice. It’s not something that has to happen though.
You can’t be serious. I’m fairly certain we wouldn’t hear the end of it if other people knew.’
Draco fidgets with his hair, twisting his fingers through a few blond strands nervously. Harry can tell that he really doesn’t want to tell but deep down just wants everything to be easier
‘Forget I even mentioned it, Draco. It’s not important.’ He reaches out for Draco's hand, holding it in his. ‘We don’t have to.’
Draco pulls his hand back again, being too anxious to handle normal interactions anymore. He steps off of his bed.
‘I should start getting ready for transfiguration. I’ll see you later.’ He grabs his bag before turning back to Harry, who is a bit shocked by his reaction.
'Yeah, sure. Bye, I guess.’ He gets his own things and begins to walk to the door to leave.
