"Regulus no, I can´t let you go! It´s like walking into the hands of death!" James yelled at Regulus someone who he´d loved and would give the world for.
"James please, you don´t get it I have to, I have already helped him so much let me do this to make up for it to prove I am good and help protect the ones I love" Regulus belived what the said but not fully he knew he wouldn´t return if he went to the cave and that would shatter James more then anything
"Reg please I beg you please don´t leave I´ll do anything" James pleaded to him tears starting to swell up in his eyes "please my love you won´t make it out alive"
"I´ll be fine James don´t worry about me I promise" of course he didn´t belive his own words but he didn´t want to see James hurt.
"But you won´t, please Reg, don´t leave me"
Regulus stayed quiete for a bit "I´ll be fine I promis James how about we just stay togheter tonight I´ll leave tomorrow and I´ll be back before you know it" James said as he hugged James before gently kissing him
James hugged him bag and replied "Allright" eventho he didn´t belive Regulus
After diner they layed togheter in silence, Regulus being afraid of leaving James and Sirius behind, James being scared of losing Regulus and how horible that would be to Sirius. They cuddeld later Regulus fell asleep, but James couldn´t he couldn´t stop thinking about losing Regulus. So he made a decision, if he couldn´t stop Regulus from going by words he´d make sure there was no reasone for him to go. James was going to the cave.
Before leaving he wrote a note, Regulus deserved to know because what if he didn´t come back. James didn´t know what to write but before he knew the pen was flowing on the paper.
"Regulus, my love, I couldn´t stand losing you. You mean so much if you were gone Sirius would be devistated. I can´t let you go to the cave and I know I can´t convince you not to go so I´ll make sure there isn´t a reasone you go. I´m going to the cave, don´t come after me if I don´t return, pads needs you. I love you Reggie

James left and went to the cave, he´ll keep Regulus safe and will try his best to return "I can do this" he said to himself not sure if he belived that.
Ariving and the cave he could feel a panic scared to die but he´d rather die then hear that the one he treasured most died. He entered the cave not sure what to expect.
Everything went to fast one moment he was standing the other moment he was being pulled underwater, he started to panick his vision became blurry, he couldn´t breath.
"Regulus, I love you" those were James´ last thoughts before closing his eyes and never opening them again.
Sirius woke up that morning to banging and screaming "SIRIUS! SIRIUS OPEN THE DOOR" he heard his little brother yell with a breaking voice
Sirius jumped up ran to the door before he knew it he was holding his crying brother.
"Hey hey, reggie it´s okay take a deep breath what´s wrong?" Sirius asked deeply concerned
Regulus looked his brother in the eyes "James. He´s gone" he said tears streaming down his face
Sirius felt like he was choking on air he tried his best to talk but it was like he couldn´t he looked back at Remus who was crying
"Regulus what do you mean he was with you last night" Peter asked confused tears welling up in his eyes
"He went to the cave" Regulus said while choking on his tears
"Prongs" Sirius said starting to cry more and more having trouble breathing
James was gone he died doing something he loved protecting the ones he held dear. They stayed silent for a while all you could hear were sobs no one knew what to say. James the sunshine who´s smile could light up a room was gone.
When Monty and Effie heard the news they were heartbroken, their baby, their little boy. He was so young.
How could he be gone already.
When James died no one could belive it.
"THIS CAN´T BE TRUE THIS IS SOME SICK JOKE" is what Lily yelled at the marauders when she heard the news she cried one of her bestest friends was gone.
Marlene didn´t take it any better her favorite boy was gone he was someone who she could always talk to.
Mary shut herself away, James someone who she could always trust someone who would always help. He was gone.
Even the ones who didn´t know James well were upset, James was a caring persone they knew that he had a big heart and loved many people.
James the sunshine the happy guy students and teachers loved. He was gone. Forever.
There was a funeral whoever knew James could come his parents wanted him to be apreciated the way he deserved.
Regulus stood back he didn´t know how to process this, he finaly felt like he had something but it was gone now.
When everyone left he stayed.
Regulus couldn´t leave James his grave they couldn´t burry a body because there wasn´t any it was just clothes, but he still felt closer to James there then anywhere else.
"Hey James, it´s me Reggie" he said crying with a faint smile
"I miss you my love, I wish you didn´t go" Regulus wished James would reply eventho he knew it wasn´t posible
Regulus sat next to James his grave for houres in silence before he spoke again
"The sun
That´s what you were to me. Because, before you my heart was cold and life was dark. Then you came along you gave me light and warmth. You being here made my days and smiles brighter. You were the sun in my world of darkness. You made me feel a way no one else could.
But now you´re gone. There´s no more light in my days just darkness. There´s no more warmth the world is just cold. The world may be even darker and colder then before you. You were me sun, you showed me light.
Now you´re gone and i miss the light."
