Chapter 1

The smell of blood was the only thing Harry could perceive as he ran, fear was the only thing keeping him on his feet at that moment, however, when he stopped hearing anyone behind him, his body collapsed.

Apparently, he had managed to reach the park behind the swings that his cousin and his gang usually terrorized after school, his muscles burned from the way he kept pushing himself to flee, but the pain in them was nothing compared to the pain of his other wounds.

His trembling hands gripped the trunk of the nearest tree, and he slowly sat down on the grass, letting out a soft groan of pain with the movement.
The damp snow beneath his body comforted him a little, however, the harsh cold began to settle in, his body started to cool down after the adrenaline began to dissipate, and now every breath was like knives stabbing his lungs.

He didn't know where he was, he didn't know what he would do now, he had no home to return to... "Well, i could hardly call that place home," he thought resentfully as he closed his eyes, the cold kept him awake, but he didn't know for how much longer.

His stomach ached for a moment from the emptiness he felt, he then remembered that he hadn't even managed to eat anything that day, although that was the least of his current problems.
Maybe it was the exhaustion, maybe it was the agony of the wounds, but his mind replayed the memories of the day like a painful reminder, Uncle Vernon's shouts, Aunt Petunia's impassive face...

His consciousness began to fail, he could feel Vernon's breath on his ear, the sound of his zipper opening... The taunts. The pleas...
It was like that, immersed in the memories of the night, that he ended up unconscious, with the snow falling like a soft blanket over his limp body and his blood-stained hands resting on the frozen grass beneath him.

Emrys was not a person who liked to leave the tower unless it was necessary, however, from time to time he liked to wander the human world on his way to some magical settlement.
The snow that began to fall didn't bother him at all, as he couldn't really feel cold, and it also made the landscape more pleasing to the eye.

Maybe if he had a little more time, he could paint the trees adorned in white by the snow, he couldn't help but laugh at himself, because "time" was something he had plenty of after all.

It was the smell of blood that stopped his musings for a moment and made him turn towards the empty children's park, he focused a little more and could smell it more strongly, beyond the swings, near the entrance of the park.
Curiously and somewhat hungrily, he went towards where he could smell it, it didn't take him two seconds to be in front of the fountain that emitted such a smell, it was there that he saw a trembling boy of six or seven years old who was breathing with difficulty, his lips were starting to have a somewhat worrying blue color, and his face was half-covered by unruly black strands.

He could leave the boy there, Emrys noticed that he was about to die if he didn't do anything anyway, but part of him was curious, the curiosity that characterized all those who dedicated themselves to research like him, because he could feel that this boy was not a normal human, no... He could feel the faint pulse of magic running through the boy, surely trying to keep him alive.

He hesitated for a second before acting, approaching the boy and gently opening his lips, he easily cut one of his fingers and let two drops of his blood fall into his mouth, watching with satisfaction as he seemed to stabilize a bit, at least he wouldn't have to worry about the boy dying in his arms while he carried him away.

He carefully picked up the boy's body and frowned as he smelled blood in places a child shouldn't have, but he kept his thoughts aside as he settled the young boy in his arms and covered him with his jacket.

A soft glow enveloped both of them, making them vanish, and soon the park was empty, with only a few bloodstains near a tree at the edge of the place as a witness to what had happened.
