Chapter 1
"It's...its mouthwash..??" Anya said, tears welling in her eyes like floods, she didn't even notice that Swansea was downing a bottle of it. You were standing next to her, shocked at the fact you knew you were gonna die. Daisuke spoke up "I mean, we are running out of water." he looked around to see how the others reacted to his attempts of being smart." he's right" Jimmy interrupts,"we should mix some of the mouthwash with the remaining water to dilute it.". You couldn't help but agree. After all, he was your new captain.
It was just another Tuesday, you were packing a few suitcases for the work trip you were about to take. This was a new thing for you, not just work trips, having a job. You had recently broken up with your boyfriend of 7 years who had financially supported you since your parents died in high school. You had to get a job and quick. An old friend from college had told you about his job at pony express and how he was getting promoted soon so he sent a letter of recommendation to his boss and got you the job. When you got this the warehouse, you met the other poeple you would be spending an entire year with: Daisuke, a young looking boy, you heard from your friend that he was only here because his parents made him come: Jimmy, a friend of your friend, you didn't know him well but you recall having a class or two with him in college: Anya, a pretty black haired girl, you shook her hand but she seemed a bit shy: Swansea, an older man, he had a bad case of resting bitch face but he was nice: and last, your college friend curly, captain curly. You guys were close in college but you had a falling out a while ago.
Daisuke got on the ship first. He looks like a Kid in a candy store because he was so excited. Curly got on, he look cool, like he had done this a million times before. Jimmy closely followed, you could tell he was trying to hard to be as cool looking as curly. Anya walked on calmly. And Swansea walked on being careful about the thin metal bridge a man of his size could easily break. You walked on, struggling to move your 5 suitcase onto the ship. You looked around, everything was so dystopian, like they wanted it to seem normal but something was off. But alas, you'd have to get used to it, after all, this would be your new home for the next year.
