Blackbird

I wakes up in my warm bed it's a stark contrast to the icy cold room, there's nothing I wants more then too stay in the warm safety of my blankets until a sharp voice cuts through the room "Bellatrix get out of your bed right now" I force my eyes open my mother standing at the door of my room her face a cold picture her sharp features highlighted in the cold morning light "sorry mother" I pull myself out of the warmth slipping on a silk robe the cold fabric making me shiver "get dressed and come down for breakfast" she snaps before turning and briskly walking down stairs her heels echoing through the hallway as she leaves. I let out a sigh relaxing now she's left I slip back out of the robe throwing it over the my bed before heading over to my wardrobe grabbing a long black dress that my aunt bought me, something my mother approved of a yet I still liked it. I move to my vanity covering up the dark bags under my eyes knowing that there would be a pointed comment about them if I forgot my eyes catch on the bottom draw on the vanity which contained my more me make up; a black lipstick as well as a dark red one and a few more piece that my mother would certainly be disgusted in. I decide there's no harm in adding a bit of colour to my lips adding a sparing amount of the red lipstick before returning it to the bottom draw and locking it. "Bella, bella" I hear the chirpy voice of my sister coming down the hall way before she comes into my room "good morning to you too cissy" I get up walking over to her and ruffling her hair the white streak in her hair messing up and mixing with the black "ey meanie, are you coming down to breakfast with me" I smile slightly watching her try fix her hair she pouts at me in protest "where's Andy" narcissa looks up at me her eyes bright before running out my room I hear her calling Andy's name as she runs down the hall towards Andy's room. I turn to glance in my mirror dusting off my dress and fixing my hair before taking a deep breath and walking out into the hallway cissa skipping down the hallway dragging Andy behind her. We all get down stairs despite cissa almost falling down the stairs and dragging Andy down with her we made it in one piece the atmosphere dappers cissa's giggling stops and we all sit down at are seats a look up as a disgruntledlooking Sirius makes his way to the stairs I know that my auntie will shout at him over how disheveled he looks, I glance around for any of the adults because getting up and going over to Sirius "stand still siri" I attempted the tame his hair and dust off his shirt despite his best efforts to fight me off. I feel a slight obligation to protect my cousins and sisters from our parents hands sirius in particular despite only 10 he has already become a particular problem for are family always rebeling against the image are family trys hard to maintain. "Bella gets off" he winges "fine fine" I hurry him over to his chair having not noticed [redacted] had came down the stairs and sat down already in the the kuffuffle I head over to my chair moments later walberga walks in scanning over us searching for any imperfections in our outfits knowing today was a big day for Andy as it was going to be her first year at Hogwarts and we were leaving today she spent an extra few seconds judging the two of us "so are you girls all packed for the train" I nod knowing find well that is a lie I still have my personal thing to bring I had packed all my school stuff and a few outfits for hogsmead but I had plenty of other stuff I wanted to bring, I look over to see Andy also nodding I know she's probably telling the truth. The other adults come in and sit down they start discussing how there first days went as kreatcher servers our breakfasts I give him a slight nod of thanks. I quickly finish my breakfast asking to be excused and surprisingly being allowed, I head up the stairs the eyes of the portraits following me as I head to my room I close the door behind me and open up my trunk moving things around leaving enough room to put my stuff I head over to my vanity digging around in the small cut I had put in the cushion of the chair I moved my hand around in the stuffing before a feel the metal of the key and I pull it out unlocking it. I grab as many of the items inside as I could; my make up and a handful of jewelry going back over and putting them neatly back in my bag I quickly grab the rest putting them in and covering them with a dress and closing my trunk I put the key back in the chair and close the draw. I glance over at the clock I still have some time so I decided to spend to finishing up a sketch I pull my sketch book out from under my pillow sitting down at my vanity where there is a vase with now dead roses in it, it's been the subject of my sketching for a few days now I continue my most recent one adding some finishing touches when I here my mothers voice calling through the house "Bellatrix come down it's time to leave" realising that time has gotten away from me I close my sketch book stowing it away in a pocket I had sewn into the inside of my dress. I grab my trunk and head down stairs to see Andy standing there her trunk in hand and Cissy, Siri and Reggie standing there. I walk over giving Sirius and Reggie a hug each before giving Cissy the biggest hug and a kiss on the fire head before standing up grabbing my suitcase and walking over to my mother. Once we arrive at the train station it's bustling with families preparing their children for their first days and 6th years trying to fight off there doting mothers I look around making eye contact with one of the girls in my class sybill trelawny she's a strange girl though she's descent company for studying I flash her a tight smile "Bellatrix" my mother snaps at me I look back at her "make sure Andromeda sends a letter once she gets into Slytherin" I give her a quick nod before I hear the train whistle as it pulls up to the station "we really should head to the train now mother" in all honesty I just want an excuse to leave and get onto the train she gives me a tight nod no sign of sadness that her daughters are leaving evident on her face. I take Andy's hand guiding her towards the train through the crowd of people when I hear my mothers voice "don't disappoint andomada"
I pull her onto the train hoping she didn't hear it but knowing that she did. I let Andy wander off to find a train carriage with some people her own age before I head over to the carriage with Evelyn zabini and Rabastan they weren't exactly riveting conversation but my family approved and I could could easily avoid them as much as possible that isn't suspicious of me not liking them not that they where horrendous to spend time with they just weren't my favourite company. I opened the carriage door smiling at them putting my stuff away "so how was your summer" I make a feeble attempt small talk "yeah good went to Italy for holiday" Evelyn replied that slight hint of bragging in her voice it doesn't particularly impress my or Rabastan but we both give a nod "yeah my family went to France a bit of the summer" Rabastan says he sounds infused by this "one sec guys I need to get something from my sister" I make a quick exit before they can ask any questions I don't need to give anything to my sister but it's better than seeing I'm going to collect a muggle book I head over to a carriage where I see him Arthur Weasley he was a boy in the year above he had a strange interest in muggles I never understood her my family hated muggles. I knock on the carriage and he gestures for me to come in I open the door stepping in quickly hoping no one sees me he pulls a book out from his bag it has a paper cover on it making it look like a portions book he takes off the paper covering showing the title how to kill a mockingbird I didn't particularly care about the content of the book I just like the way the muggles wrote it wasn't particularly much different from the way we did I just found it interesting the things we didn't do I didn't have as much interest in it as Arthur in any way but I did have a slight interest I took the book and thanked him before quickly heading back to my carriage I take my seat in the corner and open the book "study already isn't that a bit unnecessary" remarks Rabastan I roll my eyes "well I've got to do even better this year" I lean my head against the window the looking back down up my book as the train whistle goes to signal out departure we pull out of the station and the piter patter of rain on the window begins
