Chapter 12
Christen and Julie wake up to a random phone call during the middle of the night. They are thinking and expecting the worst Christen takes the call “I’m Christen Press and yes when do I need to be there … My flight leaves in 24 hours … okay I can’t wait to meet you soon”. The phone calls ends fairly quickly as she’s walking out to her desk to write down all the information. JJ starts walking towards the desk when she sees a frustrated Christen Press with her hands to her head. Julie goes and hangs her girlfriend while asking “Babe what’s wrong?” while placing a kiss on Christen’s cheek. “It’s nothing baby lets go back to bed we can talk in the morning”. Julie sleep right back to sleep holding her girlfriend tightly. While Christen laid awake still trying not to wake up J she couldn’t stop thinking of the call.
Julie wakes up to an empty bed without thinking twice she remember where she found her girlfriend the night before. She walked into the office and stands in the doorway looking at Christen whose so into her thoughts that she doesn’t realize Julie was in the doorway. She decides to go to the kitchen and make Chris favorite breakfast chocolate chip pancakes and chocolate milk. Instead of having a normal breakfast at the dinning room table Julie sets up a small table in the living room with breakfast along with putting one of Christens favorite movies to try to cheer her girlfriend up.
They ate their food in silence enjoying each others company and every bit of the pancakes. Out of the the blue “The team I played with in Sweden wants me to go back for a couple of months and train with them and my flight leaves tomorrow” Julie was super shocked the news Christen had just said.
JJ: “Is the way kept you up last night?” Christen just nodded yes
JJ: “Are you going to go?”.
CP: “I don’t know what I want to do…”
JJ: “I can’t say don’t go or go because then that makes me look like a bad girlfriend. However whatever you choose I will support you 110%”
CP: “I just can make up my mind”
JJ: “Okay so lets enjoy the rest of the day before you have to make the decision alright”
In between talking they had finished their breakfast all they had left was their coffee and the rest of the movie. They move from the blankets on the floor to the couch where Julie’s favorite blanket was waiting for them.
Christen was running on a few minutes of sleep from staying up thinking of what to do. As soon has they got comfortable enough Christen fell asleep in the arms of her girlfriend who was gentle playing with her hair.
~ Couples hours later ~
Christen wakes up and jumps up out of the couch and heads towards the bedroom. Grabbing her suitcase from the side of the room.
JJ: “So you decided to go?” (In a soft sad tone)
Press didn’t answer just continued to move around her in her suitcase. Julie was left confused and puzzled on what her girlfriend was doing. Was Christen going to leave to Sweden or was she unpacking?
