*** Flashback to the 2015 World Cup ***
After winning the WorldCup they were given a high like no other feeling super confident about themselves. After the locker room celebration they team quickly head to find family and have another quick celebration. The team then headed to the hotel to let the win sink in since they felt it was all surreal at the moment they were yelling and cheering and randomly having group hugs and saying “LLoyd we still can't believe you scored a hat trick” finally setting into there rooms the girl quickly began to take a shower or taken an ice bath. Press and Julie were roommates Press got into the shower first meanwhile Julie picked out what to wear for that night. She went with a blue semi short / long dress since she couldn't put on some jeans since she was still healing from turf burn on her thigh. After picking her outfit Press yells out “Julie i’m out of the shower you can shower now” as Julie walked into the shower Press began to pick her outfit for the night.
~ 2-3 hours later ~
Press calls Julie to help finish zipping up her dress. Press wore a tight short black dress that hugged her all in the right areas with a pair of high wedges thinking ahead in case she got pretty wasted.
“Julie can you help me zip? “ Julie finishing up her make-up as she began to walk towards her and Press was ready to be done getting ready. Julie says
“ yeah give me a sec” As Julie finished zipping her up Press turns around and looks at herself in the mirror while looking at her reflection she catches Julie staring with her mouth open. Julie notices she been caught and immediately begins to blush. To comfort Julie Christen turns around to look at her and say “ The same to you ;)” .
The team finally made it out of the hotel and off to the club to celebrate. Everyone wanted to be with the champion to take pictures and get autographs they liked the attention but they wanted to have fun with their teammates and not be champions for a few moments. It never fail by this time Alex & Ali & Kelley have had enough to drink that they had made it to the dance floor. Tobin , Ashlyn , Hope , Julie and Christen were at the bar when The trio comes and takes Christen away and pull her on to the dance floor. The ones at the bar were having fun watch their girlfriend and friends dance the night away. At some point person decides to dance with Christen she lets it slide but was very uncomfortable Julie sees it and takes it upon her to relive Christen for that. She didn't want to make it obvious she wanted to save Press so she says “Hey guys I think your girlfriends want you guys on the dance floor with them” they looked at each other and give each other a look and head to the dance floor. Julie heads straight towards Press and says “Wanna dance?” Press grabs her hand and move to another side of the dance floor and began to dance. After 2-3 songs Christen whispers to Julie “By time you come I thought you were never going to come and ask me to dance”. They danced and drank a drink too many they decided to head back to the their room.
As they walked away from the club Press was losing her balance so she grabbed Julie's hand to maintain some type of balance until they got to their room. Once they walked in Press threw her wedges across the room and asking Julie to unzip her dress. They finish getting undressed and dressed into their Stanford and Santa Clara hoodies and went straight to bed. During the middle of their sleep Press got extremely cold and started to call Julie.
“Julie .. Julie … Julie .. JJ !!! “ after the fourth time Julie began to wake up and rolled on to her side and said
“Yes Press what do you need I was in the middle of sleeping” in a really soft voice Press answers
“I’m really cold I feel like in freezing” Julie feels bad since she had a blanket and didn’t know where the thermostat was at. So she answers to Press “Here take my blanket and go back to sleep” Press though about how Julie was giving her blanket and she would be cold so she tells Julie “ How about you come over and and bring your blanket so neither of us are cold?” With no hesitation Julie climbs out of her bed and joins Christen in hers.
The next morning they woke up with Julie’s arm around Christen waist they got up got dressed and didn't mention how they had woke up and went down to get breakfast. They basically teased each other all time but it wasn't to take personal since that's how the whole team was with each other. Jill announces that they will be leaving Canada in a couple of hours and they had to pack up and be ready to leave. Once they finished with breakfast they went up to their rooms to back up. Christen and Julie had a routine since 99% of the time they were roommates once each other them packed their bags they would check each others to see if they had everything. They had finished packing within an hour and had plenty of time before they had to leave. Christen decided to ask Julie if she wants to go on a walk to grab some coffee in a quiet more private type of place.
Once they arrive at a coffee shop Christen pays the drinks and finds a spot in the back to sit where they could have a private conversation without being bother to take pictures or sign autographs. Their conversation began with how nice it was not having to attention along with talking about the game. Julie checked her phone and it was almost time to head back to caught their flight when Christen stopped her and asked her to sit down for a couple more seconds since she had something important to tell her.
“Since the moment we met I knew you were something special my feelings towards you have been growing as very day passes by and I couldn’t bring myself to tell you how I felt towards you. I didn’t want to ruin our friendship … All i’m trying to say is that i’m in LOVE with you Julie Johnston ! ! if you walk away now I will completely understand and keep my distance until you're comfortable around me again” Their was a long silence that was killing Press Julie didn't move or anything she was still trying to process what her best friend had said. Julie finally finds the words to say and looks up to Press and says “Would you believe me if I said I felt the same way?” without taking much time Press tells “Julie Johnston will you do me the honors of being my girlfriend? JJ to Press “ Yes Christen Press I would love to be your girlfriend”.
They left the coffee shop with smiles that they even stopped to talk pictures with fans on their way back to the hotel. They made it back on time to grab their bags and get on the bus to head to the airport. Once they checked in to the airport everyone was either in a small group or with their girlfriends JJ and Press deiced that they wouldn't tell their teammates and just keep it on the downlow for now. When it was time to board the plane they checked their tickets noticed they had their seats together. They found their seats and Julie pulled out her Santa Clara blanket put it over herself and Press who had her head on Julie's chest listening to her heart beat and soon asleep. Ali happens to walk by where sleepy Julie and Christen are and can’t help to snap a quick picture and texts them the picture you guys are seriously bestfriend goals you guys look so adorable sleeping. Once they arrive back to the states they both check their phone and see the picture and say “awww we even look good sleeping”
