Taking Risks

“Put me down.”

“Nah”

“I will call the cops on you.”

“I’ve been walking with you on my shoulder for the past twenty minutes and yet no one has reported the police, do you seriously think they’ll believe you.”

“No…” Yuu muttered.  He wasn’t expecting to be kidnapped by this bad boy, hell, he didn’t expect to come across Mikaela at all. The short teen let out a defeated sigh, letting his arms just swing around at every step the bad boy took, he seriously didn’t know where they were heading, but what he did know was that Shinoa had recorded him being taken away for some good blackmail material. “Did you not have someplace to go to?”

Mikaela nodded, “Yeah, but you’re more important than meeting up with friends I see on a daily basis”

“I’d like it if you put me down now”

“Nah”

“I will stop being your friend”

“Nah”

“Why not?”

Mikaela smiled, “You’re my boyfriend”

“I’m breaking up with you”

“Nah”

“I hate you”

“Nah, you don't”

Yuu let out a groan as Mikaela continued to carry him, as he was a prized possession. This was embarrassing for him since the pedestrians were looking at him with judging eyes, a few cracking some laughs at the sight. Mikaela had no shame. He just carried Yuu with a wide smile across his face, his blue eyes filled with joy as he continued to keep Yuu on his shoulder.

There was no point in complaining anymore, Mikaela would most likely keep saying ‘nah’ to everything Yuu would say. Mikaela had kidnapped him for no reason, the short teen didn’t know how long this was going to last. He wanted his feet to touch the ground already.

“Are you going to put me down now?”

“Does one plus one equal three?”

“No.”

“Then nah”

“Mika seriously, put me down! This is embarrassing!” Yuu whined, attempting to get off again, but Mikaela held onto him tight. “At least give me a damn piggy back ride!”

The bad boy grinned as he set Yuu down, blushing faintly at the sight of Yuu’s flustered face, his eyes half lidded as he looked away, biting his lower lip. Yuu took a deep breath to calm himself down before he walked behind Mikaela, standing there awkwardly since Mikaela was really tall and he couldn’t exactly encase his arms around his neck. Mikaela took notice and crouched down, not saying a word as Yuu wrapped his arms around him, his firm tight, but not enough to choke out the tall teen. Mikaela hooked his arms under Yuu’s thighs, standing up carefully.

“Happy?” Mikaela asked.

“Nah” Yuu sarcastically said, resting his chin at the top of Mikaela’s head. “I’ll be happy when you explain when we became a thing. I mean take me on a date at least. Then maybe… maybe we’ll talk”

The bad boy turned his head up to gaze into Yuu’s beautiful green orbs. “What’s your ideal date?”

The short teen pondered for a few seconds before smiling, “Ice cream and going to a playground”

“Fuck yes! That’s my ideal date too!”

Yuu for some reason squealed in joy, he was going to smack himself later for that, but he just couldn’t help it. Finally, someone had the same perfect date as him, something simple and non-expensive. Mikaela blushed the moment he heard the sweet squeal escape Yuu’s lips, his heart pound loudly against his chest. When Yuu planted a kiss on the bad boy's cheek, Mikaela was screaming internally, but managed to keep his cool despite his face being a deep crimson. Yuu was still smiling like an idiot, not noticing how Mikaela currently was. He nuzzled his face into the blonde haired teen’s neck, inhaling the faint cologne lingering on his pale skin. “You’re so childish Yuu-chan” Mikaela mused.

Yuu eventually decided to get off Mikaela’s back. Once on the ground he took a hold of the tall boy's hand, locking their fingers together. It caught the blonde haired male off guard. Yuu once again smiled before suddenly running, causing Mikaela to jerk forward from the sudden movement, almost falling into the rough dirty concrete ground. Yuu had enough strength to keep Mikaela from falling which was surprising given to his short stature, but truth be told this petite looking teen was strong, he wasn’t going to let himself be tossed around like some ragdoll. Being weak was something he never wanted to be.

For most of his life, he’s kept his figure, looking slim due to the oversized clothing he loved to wear to hide the way his body truly is. He hid his muscles, deciding it was best to see the face of an enemy when they found out he wasn’t so weak as their eyes would perceive. The regret in their eyes, the fear the washed over their face, it was entertaining to see. This strength helped Yuu look down upon foes despite obvious height differences. Yuu was never ruthless though, he always preferred brains over brawn after all. Also Yuu loved baggy clothes because they were very comfortable and he just liked slapping people with the long sleeves of his shirts or sweaters.

Mikaela gazed down at their locked hands, running alongside Yuu, gripping onto him with the same strength as he was. “Why are we running?” he asked breathlessly.

“I really, really want some ice cream right now!”

“Just for ice cream”

Yuu stopped in his tracks and took a step towards the tall male, “I want to get this date started! Geez, can’t you take a hint!”

Mikaela covered his mouth, blushing madly. “I-I thought you were joking”

“I wasn’t…” Yuu pouted, “If you’re willing to try a relationship, then I’m willing to give it a shot as well. You want to prove you’re not like those guys that are just in it for sex, then now’s your chance”

“You’re seriously giving me a chance right now!?”

“I mean, ice cream… so why not?”

“Ah yes, the ice cream” Mikaela chuckled, “Shall we go?”

“We shall”

The sun was high in the sky. The two teens were walking down the pathways of the park, enjoying their ice cream. The chirping of the birds, the chattering and laughter of kids, and the busy streets kept the silence away. Mikaela giggled at the way Yuu’s eyes were bright as the rays of the sun, filled with satisfaction as he was almost finished his strawberry ice cream. The tall teen draped his arm over Yuu’s shoulder, pulling him closer as he leaned down to plant a kiss on the side of his head. Yuu blushed as he took a last bite into the cone and licking off any remaining ice cream around his mouth.

Yuu pouted, staring down at his hands, his heart breaking slightly at the fact the most delicious ice cream he had ever had in months was gone. Mikaela took noticed, so he reluctantly presented Yuu his slowly melting vanilla ice cream, barely even touched, “Here… I’m not much for sweets…,” he murmured, his cheeks burning red.

“Are you sure you’re willing to give up your ice cream?” Yuu raised a brow, “After this you won’t ever see it again”

“I’m absolutely sure, besides you’re adorable when it comes to eating ice cream”

“Oi, I’m manly. Fuck you mean?”

Mikaela grinned, “Well if you’re manly then that means you can’t have this ice cream…” the tall teen moved away from Yuu, heading over to a nearby trash can, watching the short boy from the corner of his eye. “…might as well throw—”

“Don’t you fucking dare Mikaela” Yuu shot a glare at the older teen, slowly making his way to him, his hand twitching, wanting to just reach for the ice cream, but Mikaela will most likely drop it even from the slight raise of a hand.

The blonde haired male lowered his arm, the delicious ice cream closer to the bin. “I thought you were manly”

“I am, can’t a man enjoy a delicious treat!” Yuu huffed, crossing his arms up to his chest. A small frown forming on his lips, his brows knitting together in hopes Mikaela would give in. Mikaela felt his heart skip a beat, feeling quite terrible for making Yuu’s lips tug down into a frown. “… I’m guessing you are one of those guys that like to toy with others…”

“E-eh, n-no, I’m not like that! I-I swear!” Mikaela frantically said, walking over to Yuu, trying to hand him the ice cream. “I-I was just joking! D-don’t hate me! I-I really, really like you! God Yuu, you’re tearing me apart! You’re killing me here y-you know!”

“Well geez you don’t have to be so melodramatic about it” Yuu chuckled as he grabbed the ice cream and just threw it to the trash since it had melted too much. The short teen licked his hand, his tongue wiping off the melted sweet white dessert, not noticing how flustered the bad boy has become from what he was seeing.

‘OHMYGOD! OHMYGOD! THAT LOOKS SO WRONG!’ The older male mentally screamed, ‘DAMN IT BONER NOT NOW! OH GOD WHAT DO I DO, HE’S GOING TO THINK I JUST WANNA FUCK THAT TIGHT ASS OF— FOR FUCKS SAKE BRAIN’

“Mika, you okay?” Yuu called out, tilting his head in confusion.

‘THINK OF DEAD PUPPIES, DEAD PUPPIES, POOR SAD DEAD LITTLE PUPPIES, I AM HORRIBLE. DAMN IT RESPOND TO HIM’

“Mika?”

“Dead puppies!” Mikaela blurted out, smacking himself in the face as he looked away in shame and embarrassment. At least he didn't have to worry about getting a boner at this point. “I want to die right now…” he sulked.

Yuu sighed as he took a hold of Mikaela’s hand, “If you’re not feeling okay I can walk you home if you like…”

The tall teen shook his head, “I’m fine… sorry… for…  dead… uh… I blurt things out to calm myself down… I-I don’t usually say that in particular though…”

“Don’t worry. I say weird shit out of nowhere as well… Not dead puppies but something less disturbing” Yuu chuckled, “One time my parents took me to this furniture store to get a new bed and I hid in a closet… got myself stuck. It took twenty minutes for my parents to find me and the first thing that came out of my mouth was, guess I’m gay now”

Mikaela stifled his laughter, “How old were you?”

“About… eight…” Yuu chuckled, “During those twenty minutes, I actually realized my sexuality, being the smart kid I am”

“Yeah, like you’re so smart enough to get yourself stuck in a closet”

“Hey, just because I’m smart doesn’t mean I can’t have a childhood!”

“True, true… Anyways it looks like the playground is empty” Mikaela grinned, “You know what that means…”

Yuu smirked, “Of course…” he took a step forward and shouted, “Last one there is a rotten egg!” before sprinting.

“HEY! YOU’RE CHEATING!”

The tall teen began to run after him, smiling from ear to ear as he heard Yuu laugh. They may have a good amount of distance between them and the sounds around were loud, but he was still able to hear the short teen’s beautiful laugh. Mikaela never knew Yuu could be so fast for someone with short legs, hell the tall male was already out of breath. Gathering up all the energy he had, Mikaela picked up speed and was an arm reach away from Yuu.

Yuu looked over his shoulder, which was his huge mistake because it only slowed him down, causing Mikaela to catch up to him. Mikaela ran past him, taking a hold of his wrist, pulling him behind, almost making Yuu trip. He was unable to take long strides like Mikaela, making it difficult for him to remain standing. “Mika slow down!”

“Nah!”

“Mika!” Yuu shrieked, his hand almost slipping from Mikaela’s grip, his ankle threatening to roll in. In a matter of seconds Mikaela stopped, managing to turn around quick to catch Yuu in his arms before he completely crashed into him. Yuu growled, punching the tall teen’s abdomen. “Idiot I almost twisted my ankle!”

“But did you die?” Mikaela asked, wincing slightly from the pain as he clutched his stomach.

“…no…” Yuu grumbled, “But still! I could’ve!”

“…I don’t think anyone has died from such a thing…”

“A sprained ankle can increase the risk of a life threatening blood clot! So it’s possible!”

“…Yuu-chan… it’s in the past now”

“It was two minutes ago!”

“Therefore it’s in the past…” Mikaela took a deep breath, pinching the bridge of his nose, not wanting to anger the short teen anymore. Luckily, Yuu just dropped the whole thing and made his way towards the swing set. Mikaela followed closely behind, watching as Yuu sat down and began to swing himself, the gentle breeze causing his hair to sway with the wind.

Mikaela took the seat beside him, gripping the chains as he began to move back, lifting his legs as he swung forward. He watched Yuu struggling, unable to swing because he couldn’t get a good start like Mikaela. The tall teen jumped off his seat and walked behind Yuu, gently pulling him back before pushing him forward, his blue eyes gazing at the way Yuu held onto the chains tightly, hoping not to fall. “Thanks Mika!” Yuu said, grinning wide. “Can you swing me a bit higher?”

“Sure!” Mikaela pushed Yuu’s back, effectively making him go higher. Good thing Yuu had a good hold or else he would’ve fallen face first into the sand from the shove. “Is this alright?”

“Yup! Again thanks, being short can be annoying sometimes”

“I can tell” The tall teen headed back to the swing besides, starting out low before swinging high as Yuu was. “Did you know that short people live longer than taller people?”

“Damn really, that’s cool, but that’ll mean you’ll die first and leave me all alone”

“I’m never leaving you alone, even after death. I’ll be your guardian ghost”

“More like you’re going to be annoying the shit out of me because I won’t be able to do anything about it”

Mikaela snickered, “Exactly, but don’t worry, I won’t do it all the time”

“Good because I’m not becoming a freaking Ghostbuster”

After a couple of minutes, Yuu jumped out of the swing, since he didn’t want to wait for it to stop. He landed gracefully, bending his knees before making contact with the ground. Yuu headed up the platforms that lead to the slides. He didn’t go to them, he just leaned against the railings, his green eyes watching the white clouds that covered the sky. Mikaela didn’t move from his place, keeping an eye on Yuu as he continued to swing.

Their presence kept them company despite not speaking to each other, the silence between was honestly peaceful. Yuu climbed up the railings, standing carefully, making sure to keep his balance as he carefully made his way over to one of the poles that supported a small roof of the playground set. It was high so no kid could climb it, but it wasn’t secured from older individuals. Yuu climbed up to the top and just lied down, waving down at Mikaela, smirking as he was above ground, a different height than Mikaela.

Mikaela got off the swings and made his way towards Yuu, just getting up the platform and towards the short teen. When Mikaela reached the short teen, he realized just how tall he was. His head was peaking over the roof, which he really didn’t expect. Yuu scooted close to him, lying on his stomach, his hands going through the mess of blonde hair, “You titan”

“You midget” The blonde teen mumbled as he blew Yuu’s face gently, “So how are you enjoying this date your majesty?”

“Very well, my good sir,” Yuu sat up, moving closer to the edge before jumping down, standing before the tall male. “Maybe you truly are different than the others… but how can I be sure you won’t stab me in the back?”

“You don’t… you just got to take a shot in the dark…” Mikaela lips faintly curled up, he leaned down, his face inches close to the young boy. Yuu blushed, bringing his hands up to Mikaela’s cheeks, his eyes fluttering shut as he felt the gap between their lips close.

Mikaela snaked his arms around Yuu’s small body, pulling their bodies closer, deepening the kiss. Yuu could almost hear the beating of Mikaela’s heart given to the fact that he was close to his chest. It was beating rapidly, it was beating just for him, and it was threatening to burst right out all because of this young teen. Yuu moved his lips along with Mikaela, his cheeks burning, his mind going numb as the world around drowned away. If anything, this was the first time experiencing such a kiss, the way that Mikaela’s soft lips were against his own, his long arms wrapped around him, holding him protectively, showing that he indeed cared.

Yuu was the first to pull away, looking down as his face was a deep scarlet shade. He buried his face into Mikaela’s chest, his breathing uneven as he tried to calm down, but he could not help to feel overwhelmed over the situation. He did want a relationship with Mikaela, but that would mean he would have to keep contact with him, that meant he would have to text him a lot, meet up with him even while he is being a nerd. Mikaela gently rubbed Yuu’s back noticing how tense he was, he didn’t say a word, he wasn’t trying to coax him out into saying what was going on inside his mind.

The short male took a deep breath before smiling at Mikaela, “…I think… I finally believe you…”

“So does that mean you’ll be my boyfriend?” Mikaela’s beamed up, his blue eyes filled with hope.

“Nah” Yuu smirked before light punching Mikaela’s arm when he saw a frown beginning to form on his lips. “I’m kidding, of course you big dummy, but if you ever try to break my heart, I’ll break all your bones”

Mikaela giggled, “Isn’t that a little harsh”

“Not really, you have yet to find out what I’m capable of,” Yuu took out his phone, “Guess who found their phone~”

“Miracle” Mikaela took out his own phone as well, “I saw that you have an Instagram~ mind if I follow you and get a follow back~”

“Hmm, I don’t know” Yuu brought a hand to his chin, pretending as if he was thinking long and hard. “Tough choice, how many followers do you have?”

“I keep shit personal unlike a little Instagram famous somebody”

The green-eyed teen shrugged, “It won’t be personal if I follow you. Everyone is going to wonder who you are. Also…” he turned his back on Mikaela and opened up the camera on the app. “I want to savor this day… and I want everyone to know… Unless you don’t want to…”

“I’ll do it. Hashtag gay pride” Mikaela grinned, leaning down to rest his chin at the top of Yuu’s head.

“Hashtag gay pride” Yuu proudly said as he smiled, taking a quick picture. The short teen added a quick filter and showed it to Mikaela, “What do you think?”

Mikaela eyed the photo, his eyes mainly focused on Yuu, his smile was still so beautiful despite the countless times he has seen it, and he will never get tired of it. The picture captured Yuu’s youthful flawless looks, the way the light reflected against his eyes, making them look like stainless colored glass. “I’m a zero compared to you,” he whispered when he looked at himself, thinking he wasn’t worth to be near such an angel. His hair was a mess, his smile crooked, and his eyes looked dull, they weren’t vibrant, his skin wasn’t flawless, even under filter, he looked terrible…

“You look sexy and I mean it!” Yuu stared at the picture in adoration, deciding he would save it and put it up as his phone wallpaper. He posted the picture after writing a caption and adding a bit of tags. He exited the app and instantly put the picture on his lock screen.  “There, that way I can see your face when we’re apart!”

“No take it off, I look terrible!”

“No you don’t, you’re eyes make you look cool, your messy hair makes you adorable, and your smile is addicting to stare in a good way!” Yuu pouted, “Pushing that aside, let’s swap phone numbers…”

“Alright…”

The two exchanged phone numbers and texted the number just to make sure they got it right. Yuu wrote down Mikaela’s name on the contact list, adding some hearts next to it. Mikaela did the same, but put heart eyes instead of hearts itself. The couple decided to take a leave as the sun was starting to go down, not to mention the amount of mothers starting to appear for some reason at this time. They were holding hands, their fingers intertwined. Yuu leaned against his new boyfriend and closed his eyes feeling quite sleepy, but he couldn’t fall asleep now. He had to get home and in no way Mikaela could walk him over there.

Just as they were walking, Yuu opened his eyes for a moment as they waited by a stop light. His green eyes widened at the sight of someone at the other side, staring at him with glaring eyes. Yuu stood up straight, pulling away from Mikaela. “Hey I have to go alright, I’ll text you later!” he said quite quickly.

“O-okay” Mikaela murmured.

“I love you” Yuu quickly pecked Mikaela’s lips.

“I love you too”

With that said, Yuu ran off, leaving Mikaela dumbfounded. Once the lights changes Mikaela began to walk down the crosswalk, bumping into a taller, more built male with strange looking brows. No apology was said and Mikaela didn’t bother to mention anything. By the time he made it to the other side of the street, he turned to spot the man starting to run the direction Yuu had gone... Mikaela shrugged it off… it was probably just a coincidence.

Shinya wiped his forehead with his forearm, a small thin smile forming on his lips as he finished cleaning the kitchen. They didn’t have maids or butlers, as he didn’t want to order them around, and he didn’t want to give them tasks that he himself could do just to pass the time when he wasn’t modeling. He had a few days off before he had to do a photo shoot. It was like a mini vacation that Shinya always loved because he would be home with his family.

“Oi, Shinya” Guren called out from the living room. Shinya set the rag he was using to clean the tables on the sink, wiping his hands down on his pants, not really caring if they got dirty. He went over to where his husband resided, sitting on the couch mostly leaning forward, with a somewhat large book in his hand. There were also some papers littered over the glass coffee table, which pissed off the younger male a bit.

“Guren I just cleaned this place and you’re already making a mess” he sighed in annoyance, sitting beside the raven-haired male.

“Oh, sorry, I’ll clean it up” Guren mumbled as he sat up currently, planting a quick kiss on Shinya’s cheek. “Look what I found,” he said with a small smile.

Shinya’s eyes lit up, “Is that the photo album I gave you as a wedding gift?” he asked, leaning over, his hand on his husband’s shoulder. Guren nodded, turning to the first few pages, showing Shinya the pictures from when they were around kids. They weren’t best friends at the time, but they enjoyed each other’s company. “Aw Guren, I remember how you’d blush a lot! How come you don’t do that anymore?” Shinya whined.

“…Because I’m a grown man and so are you” Guren chuckled, resting his head against Shinya’s shoulder, setting the album right between them so they can both see. Shinya grinned as he turned to a specific page, showing the time Guren was recovering from the loss of Mahiru, he wasn’t as fit as now, he lost some weight during those six years of neglecting Yuuichirou’s well-being, not to mention he became an alcoholic.

The young male smiled from ear to ear, taking out a picture that had been hidden behind another picture, one that Guren had never come across. “Remember when you were finally sober, looking better than before… I still remember it like it was yesterday, especially the fact that you cried when you saw Yuu, but clearheaded,” Shinya said as he stared of the picture of Guren hugging a young Yuuichirou, they had a strained relationship back then from neglect. So when the two reunited after Guren got help, they decided to start all over.

“Shut up…” Guren grumbled, but he couldn’t contain a small laugh, “…I mean of course I cried… you even wrote it down here… I mean you wrote down on every fucking page. Do you realize how long it took me to finish this?”

“A month or two because you’re such a lazy ass” Shinya giggled as he got up, leaning down to plant a kiss on Guren’s forehead, “Up, I’ll help you clean this mess you made”

“Do I have to…” Guren groaned, pouting at his husband.

“Yes, up or else I’ll ignore you forever”

Guren set the photo album on the coffee table and coiled an arm around Shinya’s waist, pulling him down onto his lap. “You know you can’t ignore me” he smirked.

“Guren, cut it out, what if Yuuichirou passes by…” Shinya huffed, attempting to pry Guren’s arms off, being successful, that was until another arm took a hold of him. “I’m serious! Cut it out”

“Hey serious, I’m—”

“No, don’t you dare Guren Ichinose!”

“But it’s time I carry on the tradition of every dad out there”

“I mean do it when we’re old and wrinkly, but not now please!”

“Fine,” Guren chuckled, kissing Shinya fully on the lips. Shinya encased his arms around his husband’s neck, maneuvering their position into something different. He managed to get Guren lying flat on his back against the cushions of the couch while he hovered over him, using his arms and knees to support his own weight.

They weren’t going to do anything intimate, well Shinya really wasn’t feeling up to it since he still had to finish cleaning a few areas in the house. Shinya parted away, smiling down at the man he managed to fall in love with. Guren held Shinya’s cheeks with his hands, his longer fingers playing with the silver long silver strands that were in his reach. They felt like silk against his fingertips, he loved the feeling, it brought back memories of the times they held each other, their fingers going through each other’s hair to soothe one another during rough times in high school, but it wasn’t in a position like this, it was in a more friendly way since Guren had Mahiru.

They would be sitting next to each other and whoever of the two felt down, they’d have their head resting against the other’s chest as they vented out. Shinya would mostly be down in the slumps due to his family, especially Tenri. He had high expectations for Shinya. Guren would be there, calming him down almost on a weekly basis, well it wasn’t strange since they were best friends. Thinking about it now, it might have been a bit strange even if they were best friends…

The sound of the Shinya’s phone ringing snapped the two out of their comfort. Shinya got off his husband, quickly standing up as he reached down his front pocket to retrieve his phone. He quickly picked up the call, “Hello?”

Guren sat up, rubbing his eyes in tiredness before focusing them on Shinya. He took notice at the way Shinya’s brow knitted together, his eyes widening in what seemed to be horror. Something was wrong... Shinya never looked this terrified.

Shinya quickly turned his gaze to Guren, taking the phone off his ear for a second. “Guren go look for Yuu, now!”

Yuu was running as fast as he could, his mind going haywire, his heart beating loudly to the point he could genuinely hear it like the sounds all around him. His breathing went ragged, lungs burning like fire, as he did not stop to take a break. He ran through the streets, managing to avoid incoming cars, doing anything to escape the man he saw. The man that was most likely hunting him down, the man who wanted him dead, his dead mother’s brother, the next possible head of the Hiiragi family…

The boy’s father had always warned him about him, about Kureto, about the entire Hiiragi, not including Shinoa or Shinya. He knew the Hiiragi family was trouble, powerful at that and they despised Guren, they despised his relationship with Mahiru, they despised Yuu because he was a mixture of two branches never meant to combine. He was the outcast of the entire family. He was not supposed to be born in the first place, if he had not been brought into this world, everything would have been simpler… Everything would have been better…

There was also another reason Yuu had to avoid the rest of the Hiiragi at all cost. It wasn’t because Kureto wanted his head clean off his body… it was because Tenri wanted custody over Yuu, he wanted possession over his grandchild. Yuu had Mahiru’s blood in him, he had unbelievable intelligence, and outstanding physical abilities … Tenri wanted it… he wanted him as a puppet wrapped around his finger. Yuu was a new path to a higher level of power for the family, a path with wealth and respect. His smartness was beyond Mahiru’s, a different level than Shinoa’s despite being equal geniuses in most subjects, but Yuu was just different somehow in that man's eyes.

Yuu ignored the screaming of his entire body, the organs that were overworking themselves, attempting to keep up with him, his heart desperately pumping blood to his muscles, but it could not do it for such a long time. He was almost home, just a couple of blocks left. He quickly passed them, breezing by people, almost tripping on his own feet. He didn’t care about anything right now, he just wanted to be home with his parents, well he wanted to be near the gates where the security were before passing out from overexertion.

Somehow, he managed to make it, his run now becoming a staggering jog. If he were ever in a race, he’d most likely be in first place because he just possibly ran half of the damn city just to reach home in a matter of a few minutes. Those self-defense classes truly did end up being useful, especially all the cardio training they would do. Maybe running it home wasn’t such a good idea, maybe he might have overreacted to seeing Kureto. The man might have not even noticed him anyways! After all, he was in his other life gimmick.

With every step he took, Yuu could feel the world begin to blur, the corner of his eyes becoming nothing, but black. He seized his jogging, placing his hands on his knees, taking long ragged deep breaths. Sweat running down his face profusely. The security at the gates took notice of the boy and they were ready to inform his parents about his current state by calling them, but they didn’t have to because Guren was there just in time just like in most cliché stories.

“Yuu!” Guren called out, rushing over to his son, his violet eyes widening as his son’s emerald eyes looked up at him, half lidded. Yuu forced a smile, coughing violently, his body finally giving up, his knees buckling, unable to hold his weight anymore. The tall male caught the boy on time just before he could hit the floor. Guren was on his knees, his arms carefully around the unconscious teen. “…I honestly should’ve let him fall… nah Shinya would’ve killed me…”

One of the security guards went over to the duo, tapping Guren’s shoulder, “Sir… shall I call a doctor just in case?” he asked.

“Ah, yes, please do so. If he dies so will I at the hands of the ugly devil, aka, Shinya, "Guren joked as he stood up, cradling his son in his arms. “Call a priest too”

“Call a priest for what?” A wild Shinya has appeared, startling Guren.

Guren flashed a smile, obviously fake, highly suspicious. “OH nothing, we’re just thinking it’d be best to call a doctor”

“Nonsense, I’m a doctor”

The tall purple-eyed male rolled his eyes, “Yeah and I’m the queen of England. What a great world we live in” he muttered, “You don’t even have a MD, let alone a PhD. I bet you don’t know what they mean”

“It’s obvious MD stands for Majestic Dude and PhD stands for Pretty Huge Dick. Clearly I live up to the titles”

“I hate to interrupt, but I think your son needs some medical attention” The guard spoke up.

“Nah, he’s good,” Guren said as he began to head home.

Shinya rolled his eyes before turning his attention to the security guard, “Please do call the doctor. Also thanks for being out there on the lookout for our son”

“I-it’s no problem. He was unusually late, so I thought I’d be a good idea to be out here in case those Hiiragi and their men were tailing the boy”

“Seriously thank you. You guys are awesome. I’ll treat you all to dinner! I can promise you that” Shinya smiled, “Anyways, please ignore any screams you may hear later, alright”

“You’re not going to kill your husband are you?”

Noooo… Hehe I would never do such a thing!” The young male chuckled before bidding farewell to the security for the day. As he began to walk the slight hill home, he rubbed his neck, cracking it in the process as his eyes locked on his husband who was only a few feet away from him. “Guren~!” he sang out in a rather eerie tone.

Guren’s face paled, Shinya must’ve heard about the whole priest thing… and the ugly devil part. He was a dead man, he just hoped there was a police officer with the doctor that was going to come by… and the priest he joked about in the beginning. “Brat if you are in some way awake. I want you to know that your life has been a lie. Shinya isn’t a sweet mother he is Satan. This is our personal hell. We have been damned for eternity”

“Oi~ Guren, once you put Yuu in his bed, we’ll have a little chat~”

“Nah, nah. My baby needs to be held until he wakes up” Guren quickened his pace, deciding it’d be a great idea to use Yuu as a shield.

“I think he’ll be fine—”

“Nah, this is my first time carrying him like a baby after many years. Don’t ruin this Shinya”

“It’s just a nice chat alone~”

“Not today Satan”

Shinya sighed, “You’re only making this worse mon cheri~”

“Sorry, I don’t speak croissant”

"Oh my god..."

The two were such great parents, even forgetting that their son was unconscious. The boy needed some rest, water, and a doctor at least to make sure he was A-Okay. Well good thing Yuu didn’t have to deal with their random bickering, which really wasn’t bickering it was more like Shinya typically threatening to kill Guren while Guren just made matters worse by joking around at every chance he had despite the undying fear in his soul.

The silver haired male didn’t really have time to deal with Guren’s bullshit, it seems like the tables have turned. Usually Guren would be in Shinya’s position while Shinya would be in his place, not the other way around. Shinya let out an annoyed sigh, jogging up to Guren, setting a hand on his husband’s shoulder, scaring the daylights out of him since the touch was unexpected. It was so unexpected that Guren almost dropped Yuu.

“You’re a terrible father you know that” Shinya took the teen off Guren’s arm, deciding he’d be safer with him. “I don’t trust you with a sixteen year old anymore”

“At least I tried”

“Keyword; tried”

“Still something”

“Just clean up the damn living room,” Shinya said, sounding quite irritated. Usually he’d be cool about Guren acting like this, it was amusing, but Yuu was unconscious, which is never a good thing, especially with a certain threat around the area. They had to stay on high alert tonight, even if they had security around the perimeters, that didn’t mean they were completely safe.

The young man headed towards his stepson’s bedroom, carefully gripping the doorknob, opening the door slowly, his grip on the unconscious teen was tight, using his upper body strength to keep him from falling. Once the door was open, Shinya made it to the bed, setting Yuu down, making sure his head was on the soft white foam pillows. He sat at the edge of the bed, running his large hands over Yuu’s bangs, pushing them back.

Shinya cautiously opened Yuu’s eyelids, using a clean finger to slide down his contact to the sclera, before pinching it at the bottom, removing it with ease. He did the same with the other, as he did not want Yuu to wake up blind one day or have his eyes hurting from the dryness. Shinya stood up, heading over to the bathroom to retrieve a towel, going back to his stepson to wipe off the sweat that was coming out his pores. His body felt hot, it was doing everything it could to cool itself down. The boy’s heart was beating rapidly, working itself, not giving up quite yet.

Gently wiping Yuu’s forehead, Shinya leaned over to plant a kiss on that area, sadly smiling. “…I don’t know what we would’ve done if Kureto got you… I’m sorry you have to deal with this shit…” he whispered. He put the towel on the nightstand, gripping Yuu’s hand. “I promise your dad and I will do anything to protect you...”

“Don’t promise shit that I won’t do”

“Shut the hell up Guren”

The door to the bedroom opened, Guren walked in, clearly he did not clean up the living room. Guren headed towards his husband, placing an arm over Shinya's shoulders. “…Doctor would be here soon by the way…” he murmured.

"Alright" The young male whispered.

"Good thing Shinoa called you about that bastard being around huh"

“Guren…” Shinya softly said, turning his head to the side, reluctantly looking up at his husband.

“What?” The raven-haired man slowly removed his arm from Shinya, moving to stand in front of him to face each other.

Shinya took a deep breath before looking up at Guren, his brows knitted together, “…Do you think it’d be safer if we moved?”
