Barbara Parker had wealthy parents, and she wanted people to know it. She went around introducing herself like “my name is Barbara Parker”. Just that since her family was well known where she lived so she expected people to know.
She was a little insecure of what she really liked and focused on being a typical popular girl and a good daughter for her parents even if they weren’t always around.

Lotte Yanson was new to this school, having come here all the way from Finland. She was a quiet girl who always smiled. She didn’t have many friends, out side of two people who she asked for directions on the first day of school learning they also just moved here. (Talking about Akko and Sucy ofc)

Barbara entered the library, she went to return a book. She held the book weirdly, covering up the title so no one would see.
Nightfall was very popular and at the same time highly looked down upon as “boring” or “average”. She didn’t think so, she thought it was the best thing ever, but was still scared to let people know she liked it
She was returning the book when she noticed a girl she didn’t recognize. She had short red hair, more on the yellow side and glasses, who seemed to be reading an issue of nightfall.
She realized she’d have to “half introduce herself” to her soon.
She asked the librarian if they had Nightfall #235 on the shelves, and the librarian said it was actually just checked out.
She couldn’t believe it, someone else was ahead of her? This somewhat troubled her, she couldn’t read the next book for at least a week, the average time it took to read a Nightfall book.
She calmed her self and figured it wasn’t that big of a deal, she could always re read on the the older books she’d been collecting recently… or get on to some of her later homework.
She decided for now she should go talk to that girl

Lotte noticed someone standing In front of her on the other side of the table she was sitting. When she looked up she realized it was that girl everyone was around earlier in the day
“Uhm hi- “hello, I am Barbara Parker.” Lotte tried to start but Barbara interrupted her.
Barbara stared at Lotta for a moment, expecting an outburst like “WOW it’s really you!”… but Lotte just started at her oddly
“Um, hi… My name is Lotte Yanson, nice to meet you!” Lotte replied with a smile
Barbara was confused, very confused. Did she not know who she was? That hasn’t happened before, well, it happened earlier that day, she was “introducing” herself to a Japanese and Filipino duo who had very differing responses.
The Filipino girl just said “who?” And the other girl threw herself into a big hug and said “I’m Atsuko Kagari! Nice to meet you!”
You could say Barbara felt Humbled

The next day she went back to the library to see the the girl was there again. ‘she has a name, damn it’ Barbara thought to herself
She saw that Lotte was at the same table again, reading what she suspected to be the Nightfall book she was looking for.
She sat down across from Lotte again
“Hmm? Oh! Hello again Barbara!” Lotte said with another big smile
‘She has a nice smile’ Barbara thought to herself again
“Hello, I was wondering if that’s #235 of Nightfall?” Barbara asked
“Oh, your a fan of nightfall too? Awesome!” Lotte said with that big smile again
“Ah, alright” Barbara Replied standing up ready to leave
“Would you like to read it with me?” Lotte asked
“What?” Barbara spun her head around
“I heard you were looking for this yesterday, and I had just checked it out before you came in”
“N-no… that’s alright, I don’t want you to start over. I know how long these books are”
“I didn’t get that far, only a few pages”
‘Only a few Pages? She must read slowly’ Barbara thought
She really didn’t want to, but it was that damn smile again that made her accept the offer.
