Anna Scervino, heiress to the Scervino fortune and eldest granddaughter of THE All Might.
“*sigh* Toshinori, I know you mean well, but we both know this shouldn’t have happened.” Nezu sighed at his friend. Currently, they were in a meeting with Eraserhead and Star&Stripes. “You can’t just stop a hero exercise because you don’t want your granddaughters to fight.”
“*sigh* I know, Nezu. It was a moment of weakness.” The former hero sighed as not even his own daughter could justify his actions.
“How are they supposed to become great heroes if you baby them? And what about the other students?” Cathleen said sternly, giving her dad a disapproving look. “I am disappointed in you. This is not how you trained me and Lily.”
“Lilian didn’t want to become a heroine, so I never had to worry about you two sparring.”
“…Well that doesn’t matter. Because Melissa and Po will have to spare, and you better start liking it.” Cathleen said after a short silence.
“Perhaps it’s better to have someone else do the actual combat training, while you give pointers.” Nezu mused before turning to Eraserhead. “Eraser…I heard you tried to expell All Might’s granddaughters for no reason. So it can’t be you. Amd Star&Stripes is busy at Night Tower…What was the boy with the dog and orphans called again?”
“Sir, you can’t be serious. You go from someone who can’t teach, to a villain that is neither a teacher nor a hero.” Eraserhead immediately pointed out.
“Why, he did your job when you couldn’t be bothered to do it. Plus he didn’t actively try to sabotage a student for being related to another hero. Also he wasn’t a villain, he just snuck into UA to find his pet.” Nezu explains matter of factly. “Now, I believe you all have stuff to do. Toshinori told me he and his family were going to Italy to visit, and I heard Aizawa has a little pupil to train.” The principal quickly ended the meeting, just to make sure Cathleen and Shouta wouldn’t start a fight.
Eri had gotten kidnapped. And by checking the security cameras of the orphanage, Lupo’s suspicions were confirmed when his ‘uncle’ was the one to kidnap his little sister. So there was only one thing to do.
Tell Mahoro and Katsuma to lock the doors, only let him inside, and then go to the chicken room of the orphanage. There, Waf the (useless) guard dog was sleeping. “Look alive, Waf.” The boy ordered with a snap of his fingers as he opened up the coop, from which his chickens’ real protector existed.
Another chicken, one with a white body and brown head.
“We got business to attend to, Eradicator.” Lupo said dryly as the chicken waddled toward Waf, who was still sleeping, until Eradicator violently started pecking his snout. Lupo meanwhile went into the chicken room, passed most of his chickens, until he reached a little bed. Onto which, a pink piglet was napping. “You’re hungry, Pinto?” The boy asked, scratching the little pug until it awoke. “Let’s get you some food.”
“Anna!”
“Melissa, Po!”
Because both All Might and Star&Stripes were world famous, the Yagi’s tried to travel undercover. But clearly, the three granddaughters didn’t get the memo. Because as soon as the plane landed, Melissa, Po and Anna ran towards each other.
“So, how have my baby cousins been?” Anna asked with a smirk, earning her light shoving from Melissa and Po. But then, someone stepped in. It was a man a bit older than Anna, with a red ponytail.
“I would appreciate it if you stop shoving miss Anna.” Giulio said dutifully. Immediately, the two ‘living in Japan’ girls had a feeling something was up with him and Anna. But before they could ask about it, aunt Lily hugged them.
“Look at you two! You’ve grown so big!” The woman laughed, ruffling both her nieces’ blonde hair. “And I heard talented too. Both of you getting into UA after papa accidentally made it harder.”
“Hey now, I didn’t mean for that to happen.” Toshinori sighed, causing both her daughters to laugh, before Cathleen turned to Giulio. “Lily told me about you. So, are you treating my niece well?” She asked, putting her arm around the confused butler’s neck. “You see, Anna is very dear to us all. We don’t call her princess for nothing. So if I ever hear you make her cry, I’ll kill you. And trust me, boy. I’ll make it long, and painful, and very agonizing.”
“….Jesus, aunt Cathleen. You’re scaring him half to death.”
“And if he makes you cry, Anna, he’ll be full dead.”
If Giulio hadn’t shit himself, he might have laughed a bit at the woman’s intensity.
“Even on vacation, they can’t take a break?” Lilian sighed with a fond smile as Cathleen, Po and Melissa jogged by. Her dad meanwhile just chuckled.
“They are very passionate about being heroes.” The former hero laughed, which his youngest daughter did as well…but his oldest granddaughter wasn’t laughing. She watched her cousins run like athletes. Especially Po, who ran far ahead of Melissa and even Cathleen. And of course, Giulio noticed her looking at her little cousin.
“Miss Anna, are you alright?” The butler asked.
“…Yes, Giulio. I’m alright?” The heiress laughed awkwardly, only for her butler to not believe her, especially since she still stared at Po running with all her might. “What’s with that look?” Anna asked as Giulio gave her a rare unimpressed look.
“I think Giulio can also see you looking unsure.” Toshinori said with a soft smile. “So tell Grandpa Yagi what’s wrong.”
“…I’m twenty-two, yet have accomplished nothing.” Anna sighed with a sad smile. “My mom’s a great child protective service agent, my aunt and grandpa are the best heroes in the galaxy, even my little cousins got into this really exclusive hero school. Meanwhile I haven’t even finished any study.”
“Come on, Anna. It’s not your fault that you had to drop out.” Lilian sighed as she reached for her daughter’s hand.
“I can’t keep using my stupid quirk as an excuse to be a failure.” Anna groaned as she got slowly more frustrated. “It was kinda understandable when I studied law, stopped around the time I dropped out of ecological science, and by the time I quit art history, I couldn’t leave the house without Giulio holding my hand!” She screamed, slamming her hand down before groaning in pain, resulting in Giulio holding Anna’s hand until her breathing evened out.
“What’s the matter with my granddaughter?” Immediately, Toshinori got defensive as he went and grabbed Anna’s other hand. “You said it was something with your quirk. I thought it just made other quirks stronger.”
“It makes some quirks stronger. But it always causes Anna pain and suffering.” Lilian explained with a sad tone. “We hired Giulio to hopefully help her with Overmodification, but it’s more like we’re prolonging the effects.”
“Everyone in this family is making this world a better place. All except me.” Anna whimpered before slamming her head on the table. “I wish I never had this quirk.”
The Yagi family had finally settled in for the evening, leaving the villa quiet. But Anna still sat on the balcony, resting her chin on her aching hands. Her mom, grandpa, aunt and cousins all told her she was too hard on herself, but Anna didn’t care. They all did great stuff and Anna was just wasting all their time.
“You should be resting.”
Anna knew that voice. She always knew that voice.
“Shouldn’t you be off doing butler things?” She teased halfheartedly, her tone lacking its usual bite as Giulio stepped beside her. He even got a bit closer compared to normal.
He always did that when Lilian wasn’t present.
“My job is to assist you.” He said simply.
“Yeah? And how exactly are you assisting me by standing here?”
“I could carry you inside if you prefer.”
“...You wouldn’t dare.”
Instead of answering her, Giulio’s lips went up, but he didn’t push further. Instead, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, worn cloth. Without asking, he took her hand gently and began wrapping it around her palm.
“You carry bandages around?”
“I carry your bandages around.” The butler corrected her. Then he did something unexpected. He lifted her hand and pressed his lips against the bandaged knuckles.
And Anna’s breath caught in her throat.
“…You should be more careful with yourself. You are dear to us..to me.” Giulio murmured. And before she could respond, he stepped back, returning to his usual, composed self. “I’ll be inside if you need me.” He said, his voice once again level. But as he walked away, she noticed the stiffness in his shoulders. Like he was..flustered.
But before Anna could even react, someone slapped their hand over her mouth.
“Don’t be afraid, young lady. And I advise you not to scream.” Said an elderly man with a big red nose. With him was a woman with black hair and a big hat, who was the one that covered Anna’s mouth before looking her in the eyes. Immediately, Anna fell asleep, just as Giulio and Lilian came to check on Anna again. They must have heard the commotion.
“What are you doing with my daughter?!” Lilian roared as despite her having no training, she ran to protect her daughter.
But while Deborah just wanted to use her quirk again, Kamile had a more fun idea. He used his quirk Spatial expansion to lift up Lilian and Giulio, and flung them off the balcony. “A very protective mother, I must say. You could have learned a thing or two from her, Deby.” The older man said with a devilish grin, which Deborah just ignored until Gil came to pick them and the sleeping Anna up with Teleportation.
