Two Enthusiastic Girls
Minami was playing around with her phone charm. The charm was pink beads with a star at the end. She gulped and input Ruby Hoshino's number into her phone. Her hands shook a bit but not with anxiety, purd bliss! She was ecstatic after finally getting the honey haired broad's phone. She began her first text message: 'Hi, it's that pink haired girl that bumped into you!...' She speedily deleted the typing, was that too weird? Now she was a little nervous. Minami bit her nail, she didn't actually KNOW Ruby Hoshino. She's just a weird obsessed fan at this point. She pushed down her fears and sent a text:
'Hiya, I'm Minami Kotobuki! We ran into each other in the rain a bit ago and I just so happened to run into your brother! That's how i got your contact...Sorry if this is sudden!'
After waiting a bit Minami got discouraged, of course Ruby wouldn't respond immediately! Her phone buzzed.
Ruby: OH MY GOOOSHH!!! MEET ME AT THE SAME SPOT I'M HEADED OVER NOW!!!🌸🌸
Her way of texting was adorable! All caps with cute emojis, Minami giggled to herself. Then her face flushed, she wants to meet now? She had to do her makeup, find a cute outfit, and style her hair pronto! She carefully pulled up black knee length stockings, pairing them with a blue pleated skirt. She bit her thumb a bit, lost in thought. After a moment, she decided to pin up her skirt...Just a bit. She put on her light blue jacket over a white button up. Last but not least, she clipped in her blue hair clips, two sleek lines in her glossy hair. She curled her hair just a bit to add volume and finally, after reapplying a bit of lip gloss, she was ready!
She stepped out of her house and began walking, as she walked she felt a small wet droplet splat onto her hand. Though, she was too busy smiling to care. Her light jog turned into a full on sprint towards the corner where Ruby and she had met. She arrived at the spot, panting. When she turned the corner she did not collide with anyone this time around. But leaning on the concrete wall was Ruby Hoshino. Her eyes were closed and her long honey hair poured over her shoulders, a portion swooped up into a glossy side ponytail. She was wearing a cute pink dress spotted with black dots. She looked amazing in ruffles. Her nails were a beautiful shade of muted pink... She opened her eyes. They were stunning, sparkling and glittering like a ruby. Her pink lips curled into a smile.
"Minami!" she brought her hand to her mouth with a clenched fist. She ran over towards Minami and hugged her, then she slid her hands over to her chest. "And hello g cups!" Ruby grinned sneakily. Minami's face reddened slightly, she let out a small laugh. It was a little uncomfortable feeling hands on her chest but she didn't mind when it was Ruby.
"Hey! Sorry for takin' a while..." Minami grinned and pulled away from Ruby.
"No worries! I'm just happy to see you again!" Ruby said with glee, as if she had been greeting an old friend. But no, they were practically strangers. "Come! Let's go to my place! Aqua and Miyako aren't home today!" Ruby ushered, pulling at Minami's arm. She didn't know who Miyako was but she didn't care because even small contact with Ruby's skin made Minami's heart flutter. Her heartbeat was loud and rapid. But she didn't care, she smiled and followed Ruby's steps.
"Sure! Let's go!"
The two girls ran after one another, smiling and laughing together. The droplets that had been lightly showering them from the sky turned into pelting daggers. The two girls didn't care though, they continued giggling to one another, chatting and stepping in stride.
"So, are you a model? You totally look like a model!" Ruby pried.
"Yup!"
"Are you a pin-up model?" Ruby chided, raising her eyebrows playfully.
"Haha well..."
"No way! You totally are!" Ruby laughed. Minami softly laughed with her. "I'm not as cool as you unfortunately! I'm an aspiring idol!" Ruby huffed passionately. The rain had already ruined all of Minami's hard work on her hair, yet, she didn't seem to mind now. She continued smiling and chattering with Ruby until they finally reached Ruby's home. They continued talking as they slid off their shoes and entered. "Come!" Ruby beckoned with a huge grin. They both sat down onto Ruby's sofa. "Oh wait! Let me get you a towel!" Ruby flushed, embarrassed at her oversight. Minami smiled as she rushed off to find a towel for them. Now Minami was all alone in Ruby Hoshino's house. She began to get a little nervous as she picked at her nails. It was quiet, Minami twirled a bit of her soggy hair around her finger. She didn't understand why Ruby was so enthusiastic about her when they just met but she liked it. She didn't care where it came from she just enjoyed the warmth. "I'm back! Catch!" Ruby slid into the room, tossing a towel onto Minami's head. The towel wrapped around Minami's head and Ruby let's out a loud laugh. "I told you to catch!"
"Oh!" Minami let out a gasp, a little embarrassed. But Ruby kept laughing, causing Minami to join into the laughter.
"Want to watch a movie?" Ruby asked with a teary smile.
"Sure!"
Ruby put on a movie but Minami couldn't pay attention as Ruby kept scooting closer to her on the couch. After a while, Ruby was completely merging into Minami's personal space. Minami closed her eyes and a bit. Ruby slid her arm under Minami's shirt. "W-what are ya doin'?!" Minami gasped.
"Oh! Sorry I thought...You were asleep..." Ruby flinched, drawing her hands back.
"That..." Doesn't make it better, is what Minami wanted to say. But she didn't want Ruby to feel bad so she kept quiet. Minami awkwardly watched the remainder of the movie, trying not to fall asleep. Ruby continued to keep her distance after being pushed away, her smile was faded and her eyes shifted around nervously. When the movie ended Ruby looked over to Minami, who was clinging onto being awake. It had gotten late.
"Want me to...walk you home?" Ruby said, shyer than usual.
"Oh! It's sure gotten late hasn't it!" Minami gasped, springing back to life. Ruby nodded with a smile.
"Or...You could stay the night!" Ruby suggested tenderly. She looked away from Minami, not wanting to hear her answer.
"I guess..That should be fine!" Minami sighed, a little nervous from earlier. Ruby's face lit up, returning to it's former playfulness.
"Great! I mean, cool! I mean yay!" Ruby jumped up, "girls night! sleepover!" Ruby said in a singsong voice, clasping her hands together as if in a prayer. "We can sleep in my room!" Ruby smiled, grabbing Minami's arm.
Within Ruby's room there were tons of posters of B-Komachi, all of them highlighting the idol Ai Hoshino. Her bedding was pink and white, there was a pink and white striped rug on the floor and a few potted plants that haven't been watered in a while. Minami smiled, she was no longer worried. She was happy to be anywhere with Ruby, even if she could be a little weird at times..!
