Take One
“Clarke?”
The blue eyes stared back in confusion not able to understand what was going on. Her throat was still dry unable to get more words out.
“Clarke, baby it’s me.” If she thought waiting for her to wake up was bad this somehow managed to be ten times worse. Fear stared back at her.
Without thinking Lexa kissed the girl in a frantic state who did her best to push her off. She mumbled something against her lips but the words were not registering. Her lips felt the same but the feeling inside her was not what it used to be.
Pulling away she looked at Clarke in hopes that maybe she just needed a reminder. Lexa swore for a split second the girl had recognized her as the blonde eyes seemed to soften up but her nightmare only got worse. Spit came from the blonde landing in the green eyes. “Get away from me!”
Within seconds she felt her body collided with the floor as the girl had managed to push her off of her. With a bad leg and being unfocused her body gave out in her, unable to hold her own.
“Mrs.Woods!” A nurse came up from behind who slowly helped the girl up.
Another nurse followed behind grabbing Clarke’s arm to help her but it only triggered the girl who suddenly began to lash out. Wailing her arms around she refused to be held down.
Octavia came rushing in seeing the blonde look around in disorientation and screaming. It was clear she was unable to understand where she was but it only became worse.
“Page the doctor.” A nurse called out.
Clarke tried to get up but now both nurses were trying to hold her down. Neither Lexa nor Octavia moved as the girl roared in frustration. Tears were strolling down her face as she begged to be let go.
“Get off me!”
“Dr.Griffin calm down.” The girl screamed again shaking her head in refusal. The thrashing of her body continued causing the different wires attached to her body get ripped off.
“Please!” Holding down at her shoulder the blonde began to slam her head back into the bed repeatedly doing anything to be free from the grip. “Let me go!”
Octavia snapped into motion as she grabbed the girl’s face whose eyes were hungrily filled with anger and fear. It wasn’t her friend that stared back but a stranger consumed by a monster.
Clarke’s eyes lit up in sight of her best friend only to furrow her brows in perplexity.
“Octavia?” The words were croaked out which rushed the nurse to grab her some water.
“You’re safe. It’s okay.” Octavia placed her hand under her chin to catch any falling water as she helped the girl drink from the cup. Clarke refused at first but another encouraging look eventually caved her in.
Octavia wrapped the girl in her arm as Clarke began to mumble into her chest. “What’s going on? I don’t understand.”
Octavia continued to stroke her hair attempting to comfort using any words she could. Before another word was spoken a doctor came rushing in slightly out of breathe.
“Dr.Griffin.” Her head shot up at the name acknowledging his presence.
“I’m Clarke. That’s my mother.” Just as everyone else in the room confusion took over the doctor as he raised a brow in curiosity. His mind was already ahead of the game of everyone else had he had a few speculations of what could happen when she awoke.
“Clarke do you know where you are from?”
“Arkadia.”
“Do you know where you live now?”
“Arkadia.” A sigh came from her side reminding her that her friend was still holding her hand. Clarke looked over to the girl who seemed to be holding something in. It reminded her of the earlier question she posed.
“Why do you look so much older?” Octavia did not answer though as she looked to the doctor for help. Someone was going to have to explain to her what was going on.
“Why don’t we give Clarke sometime to settle down and adjust. We don’t want to overwhelm her.”
The nurses began to move as did Octavia but the other woman stayed frozen in her spot not wanting to leave her, afterall she just got her back.
“No. No one leaves! What is going on?” The blonde demanded feeling the anger rise in her again as did earlier
“Do you know who I am Clarke?” The woman who had kissed her earlier and stood shocked moved forward speaking in the softest saddest tone she had ever heard.
Clarke only shook her head causing the woman to take two limping step forward with the same desperate look when she kissed her.
“Stay away from me.” Only this time the look was more pleading, begging her to just know what she wants her to know. Her heart broke at the look making her look away from the brunette.
“Please just look at me.”
“I don’t know you, leave me alone.” Clarke responded refusing to look at her eyes knowing it would hurt her. “Now someone please tell me what’s going on.”
-----
“It has been four days Lexa. Come on now let’s leave the room.” Anya was packing up everything in the hospital room ready to get out of this depressing hole. She didn’t mind helping Lexa, afterall she is family, but the hospital was bringing her down way too much.
Lexa stared out the window grasping onto her cane. The sky filled with slowly moving grey clouds indicated her feelings pretty well. Gloomy and tired.
That was all she seemed to feel lately. There were too many events that kept piling on top of each other, all she wanted was a break. If she could she would close her eyes and when they opened she would back in her home with Clarke as if nothing ever happened.
Except that was not the case. Lexa was married to a pregnant woman who can’t remember her face nor wants to see her. After the stunt she pulled with the kiss the blonde had become fearful of her banning her from the room.
Octavia had promised she would help the girl remember who she was but the damage was very bad. Clarke seemed to have forgotten everything that happened the past twelve years. From medical school to moving into her first owned house.
Anya had attempted to visit her but she too was a stranger to the blonde no matter how many memories or stories she recounted to the girl. Everyone had been doing their best to help the girl but Clarke did not want to be helped.
Most of the major events in Clarke’s life had already been told to her with the exception of her pregnancy. Lexa had requested she would tell her no matter how much she did not want to see the girl she knew eventually she would have to talk to her.
The doctor had been inspecting her the past few days to come up with a prognosis. Today Lexa, Abby, Raven, Octavia, and Anya, upon Lexa’s request, were to meet with him to discuss Clarke’s fragile future.
While the doctor had only requested Lexa and Abby they both felt this needed to be a family decision. They were not the sole impactors on her life and the old Clarke would have wanted that.
“I’ll come back for this later.” Lexa limped out of the room with Anya trailing right behind her. The two were the last to make it into the conference room. Everyone else waited patiently as the doctor sorted out the papers.
“I know how you all are so we will skip the small talk and begin.” The doctor passed out a few papers in which most likely only Abby could decipher with ease.
“Clarke has retrograde amnesia from a cranial trauma. This allows her to encode new memories but unable to recall the events before the accident. As suspected her episodic memory was most severely damaged as her semantic memory and procedural memories remain perfectly fine. She cannot remember specific events of her own life but can remember general knowledge and how to perform everyday functions.”
“Why can’t she remember Lexa but can remember me?” Octavia spoke up knowing Lexa was thinking the same thing.
“Normally events closer to the accident are lost because the neural pathways of newer memories are not as strong as older one. Clarke thinks she is nineteen.”
“Will she ever get her memory back?” Everyone’s eyes turned to Raven whose words struggled to leave her lips. Abby had understood early all the complications that came along trying to hold her emotions in once the diagnosis was made.
“Very unlikely Miss.Reyes. It would be nearly impossible considering how bad the damage was to the brain. Clarke will have to learn how to start all over.” Silence filled the board room for a few minutes as the words sunk into everyone’s minds. The thought of missing out on a whole twelve years was crazy to become a reality yet here they were with Clarke Griffin.
“How do we fix this?”
“The brain is a very complex thing. Studies have shown-”
“I said how do we fix this.” Lexa spoke with such authority that even Abby did not dare to interrupt.
“There is nothing we can do for her Mrs.Woods.”
“If this is an issue with money well then don’t worry about that. I am paying you to help my wife.”
“We will do everything in our power to help but this is all on Clarke.” Lexa stood up now as everyone carefully watched her make her way to the door.
“Discharge Clarke, we will be taking her to a better facility.”
“Lexa!” Abby called out but she was already out the door making her way back to her hospital room.
It did not make sense in her head. None of this accident made sense. How was it possible that Clarke could just forget the life they had together?
Her Clarke would never in a million years forget who she was. Just thought of it was absurd after all they had been through together. Clarke was going to remember who she was, that was the only way this could end.
“Lexa!” She didn’t bother to turn around knowing they would try to stop her. While the reality was that Clarke was awake and could make her own decisions, Lexa had precedents over Abby which meant she would do what she felt was best for her.
She continued the walk down the hall with the only thought in her mind that her old Clarke was dead. All their moments together from small touches to loving kisses to laughter and to sadness it was all of it never happened.
“What are you doing Lexa?” It was Raven who appeared in front of her stopping her in her tracks.
“I’m doing what is best for my wife.”
“What’s best for Clarke is here. She needs stability.”
“I don’t recall you going to medical school Reyes.”
“Get your head out of your ass. We all want what’s best for Clarke.”
“This hospital cannot provide the services she needs.”
“No Lexa, this is the first time money cannot solve your problems.” Lexa pushed past her ignoring the girl who continued to follow her.
They were out of sight where no one could see them at this point. The hallways were silent as the light barely seeped through the window.
“Stop running away from your problems Lexa.”
“I’m not running.”
“Then let Clarke stay here. She needs to be somewhere comfortable.”
Lexa only shook her head continuing her limp towards the next door. Raven had no idea what she was talking about. This what Lexa needed to do, to help her wife in anyway she can. To help their family for the future.
“Lexa you don’t know what you are doing!” Ignoring her was the only thing on her mind. Clarke was going to get the best treatment out there to help remember who she once was and who Lexa is.
“Lexa you're being a coward!”
“It’s easy to say to keep her here Raven because you don’t have to worry about her forgetting you.” Lexa turned around striding towards the girl who carefully walked backwards until her back was against a wall with every word.
“You don’t know what it’s like to have the only person you could ever love with your entire being look back at you as if you were some sort of monster! That’s not Clarke. That’s not my Clarke in that hospital bed!”
Her grip on her cane became tighter as it felt it was going to give out on her. “My wife and all our memories together died in that accident!” Lexa choked up truly revealing her feelings.
It had been about two weeks since Clarke had spat in her face and since she has not been to visit while she was awake. Lexa had remained in her room not leaving nor even walking around. All business had been pushed to aside from her work to becoming mayor.
The only moments she had actually been to the room was at midnight. Despite Clarke's heavy wishes that Lexa remain far away from her, she continued to take the risk so that she could read to the baby. Other than that, Lexa had moped around since with all emotions hidden and unspoken.
Silence was her best friend with no one able to get through to her. This was the first time they had finally found out how she really felt and her usual ‘I’m fine.’
“I've lost everything if I've lost Clarke. If she can't remember me how can I even raise this child knowing she would be out there and not with us. Hell what if she runs away with them.”
“Lexa.”
“My Clarke Griffin is dead and I did that to her. Now I need to save her.” With that she stormed off as best as she could. Before Raven could try to stop her again she felt her arms being grasped.
“Give her some time and space.” Anya had whispered understanding how the girl coped with her issues.
“She isn't okay Anya.”
“I don't know if she'll ever be okay again.”
------
The police had questioned Lexa multiple times now and Clarke once, though a lot of her testimony would be invalid. Lexa was left off with a warning though any drinking while driving is illegal.
No matter how much she convinced them it was not the alcohol or a desire to kill herself they still antagonized her. Titus had helped managed to keep everything under wraps.
As requested she finally put out a public statement but refusing to state Clarke or her own injuries. Much fan mail had been sent over the course of the few weeks in which Lexa could not bring herself to read.
Lexa made her way over to Clarke's room the next day after the last of the questioning had been done. When she entered Clarke was not there as the nurse informed her she was getting an x-ray done.
She began to pack her things and then eventually plopped onto the vistor chair watching old videos on her phone. The most recent one she had playing was Clarke singing Knockin On Heavens Doors.
Her wife was the single most perfect thing in this entire world. Without a doubt Lexa felt slightly turned on tightening her thighs. Clarke had just rolled out of bed making her hair messy but the curls fell down to her bare shoulders where she wore her lace bra.
Following that was her matching lace underwear with her body covered by an extremely light material robe. It was instinctual for her body to react like that missing the feeling that came with her gentle touch.
Closing her eyes she let her mind drift to her favorite voice. Guilt would consume her for the rest of her life but at least in this moment she had the memories.
“I don’t think watching old videos are going to help.” Lexa’s eyes shot open as she watched the blonde make her way into the room. Though her head still hurt she was able to walk well with only a few minor cuts on her face from shattered glass.
It was the first time she had seen her awake since she had spat in her face. Clarke looked more alive and healthier giving Lexa a satisfying feeling knowing she was getting better.
“You don’t know anything.”
“Touché.” Clarke made her way over back to bed as Lexa intently watched her every move.
Lexa had been surprised the girl had not kicked her out yet. The blonde had been very meticulous in how she moved and though every bone in Lexa told her to help her she knew the girl did not want any.
“You stare too much.”
“I just want to make sure you are okay.”
“No, you want to know if I am currently resenting you or plotting a mastery plan to get you out of my life.”
Clarke over exaggerating was nothing new but she had to admit she was caught off guard that she could figure that out. Lexa never really needed words with her and if she ever lied Clarke was the first to just know there was something deeper there.
Adjusting to this new Clarke was going to be very difficult because their memories together may have been forgotten by the blonde but not Lexa. It caused her to remain silent which Clarke had picked up on right away.
“My things are packed.” Clarke broke the silence to change the topic for her benefit.
“Yes, we are leaving.”
“We?”
“You, I, and-” The words were a struggle at first knowing at some point she was going to have to tell Clarke about her pregnancy. To her surprise Clarke had found the word she was searching for.
“Our baby.” Clarke finished watching the girl jump in shock and confusion.
“No one told me I figured you would but surprisingly I can still read charts.” Rolling her eyes of course she would be able to remember all her doctor knowledge.
It only aggravated her more knowing it was just unfair and cruel for whatever greater being that was out there to punish her for this. She blamed a past life for what she was suffering now.
“It also doesn’t help when you try to sneak in here and read children’s book.” Clarke offered a smirk as this was the true reason she had figured out she was pregnant.
Afterall did people not expect her to not know her own body? Her suspicions had been confirmed by the brunette.
“I was doing it for our baby.” Lexa caught on to the smirk relaxing her body but becoming more aware of what Clarke was doing.
Initially Clarke was going to kick her out as she had become fearful of the woman. When a stranger kisses you begging for you to love them it’s hard not be afraid of them.
Despite her fears Clarke would listen to her read the bedtime stories to the baby every night and enjoy the soothing voice falling asleep to it too. She had in fact become quite fond of her presence putting aside her initial impression aside.
“Well if we are having a baby together I guess we have nine months to try to put up with each other.”
“You want to keep the baby?”
“If I was going to have a baby with you clearly you meant something to me.”
“You banned me from your room, now you want to just raise a child.”
“That didn’t stop you from coming in.”
“I was here to see the little one.”
“And me.”
“That is very presumptuous of you.”
“If you know me so well then that doesn’t come as a shock to you.” The banter between the two immediately flashed Lexa back to memories of when they had first met and started dating.
Clarke had always been upfront with her but initially she was very brash and arguably arrogant. It had only made Lexa fall in love with her more as she didn’t need anyone else to raise herself up.
Maybe she had been looking at this wrong. This was a chance to fall in love with Clarke all over again but she wouldn’t realize that until it may have been too late.
“So you want to live with me?”
“Woah there! Take me on a date first.” Clarke smiled as Lexa laughed for the first time in what seemed like a life-time to her. Just being with Clarke had always been better and even now that proved to be true.
“You have a beautiful laugh.”
“Don’t flirt with me Clarke.” Lexa spoke in more jokingly tone knowing the girl had no idea what it actually did to her inside.
“Apparently we used to do a lot of it.”
“We used to do a lot of things.”
“I heard we used to have phenomenal sex.”
“They told you stories of us?”
“That’s all Raven and Octavia talk about, how in love I was with Lexa Woods.” Lexa did not come back with a witty comment though.
She fell silent again. It was going to be a learning process to get used to not knowing what were possible memories that would take over her leaving the brunette sadder.
“Hi, I am Clarke Griffin.”
“Seriously? Could you be anymore cliché.” She didn’t respond only sticking her hand out even more to be shoken.
“Lexa Woods.” They shook hands longer than normal as Clarke watched the green eyes stare back at her filled with pain and exhaustion.
It was a sight she was going to have to get used to unless she remembered ever again.
“If you would have me, I would like to stay here in Polis with you to raise our child and hopefully along the way we can fall back in love.” The last part spoke with much questioning as she was unsure herself if those were the right things to say.
“What if we never do?”
“Do you ever think positively?”
“No, that was your job.”
“Okay then. I will be positive for the both of us if you learn to forgive yourself. Accidents happen but if people say our love is as strong as it was then I have to have hope for us, for our family.”
“How do you know?” Lexa referred to Clarke knowing she would hold resentment towards herself for the rest of her life. Forgiving herself was just preposterous.
“You are an open book to me.”
“Only you could ever read me like that.”
“I guess some skills never go away.”
“And how could you just jump back into this?”
“The past twelve years was consumed of my adventures with you. That was all anyone ever told me when I asked about what happened. Every memory had you in it. Lexa this, Lexa that, Lexa, Lexa, Lexa. I’d be a fool to run away from whatever we were.”
“Are you sure Clarke?”
“As long as we take things very slowly. I know it will be hard for you to start over.”
“I can do whatever it takes.”
“And if I’m not the same Clarke you once loved?”
Lexa had thought about it very briefly once. Starting over would be like completely dating a new woman. Experiences shape the people we become and without their past would their love even still come to be the same?
“We leave tomorrow.”
No, she did not want to answer it or imagine that but at the end of the day it came down to her being alive as the most important thing. That was what she had to convince herself of.
Clarke only nodded her head for the gracious gift of getting out of here as she was tired of the confinement of the four walls. Lexa stood up making her way towards the exit feeling much better than she did before she entered.
She didn’t remember the last twelve years but her personality still remained which could only be a good thing. Clarke had picked up naturally on what Lexa was feeling.
Before Lexa left she had been stopped by the beautiful blonde that was lucky to call her wife.
“Lexa?”
The girl turned and watched her sit up straighter. “I love you.”
For a brief moment her heart stopped as her mouth opened to respond but struggled to even say anything. The words were laced with such honesty that in that moment her Clarke had returned.
Lexa slowly walked over where she grabbed Clarke’s hand who let her without a fight. Looking intently into the blue eyes she spoke,
“In peace, may you leave this shore. In love, may you find the next. Safe passage on your travels, until our final journey to the ground.”
She kissed her hand then placed it over heart. Lexa closed her eyes unable to see the blonde carefully watching the interaction.
Lexa choose the words of the language she had learned from her family. Eventually she had taught Clarke in which they used it in very special moments with each other, such as this one.
“Yu gonplei ste odon nau ai hodnes. Mebi oso dena na hit choda op nodotaim.” Your fight is over now my love. May we soon meet again.
The Clarke that stood before her now would not understand but if deep down her old Clarke was still there then knew what Lexa had requested. Kissing the top of her forehead, Clarke let the woman do what she needed to do to say goodbye.
Not goodbye to the woman but to their past so that they could start anew. Letting go was going to be a process but the only way to do so was recognizing it for what it is, gone.
Slowly she placed the hand back down and nodding her head. Powerlessly her eyes quickly filled with water restraining itself from breaking its own damn. Lexa mouthed the words thank you before leaving the room right away.
It only took her seconds to reach the hallway before she had completely bursted into tears. She understood Clarke did not remember but was doing her a favour.
Lexa needed to hear the words knowing the old Clarke would have exactly told her the same thing. She needed to hear one more time from her that it was going to be okay and that they were only going to come out of this stronger.
There were only three words but neither were foolish enough to not know Clarke was giving her the reassurance she needed. We could all be tough but we all need comfort, including the stoic Lexa Woods. It was a chance to say goodbye to their memories and to put it to rest.
Even if this new Clarke never loved her the way she used to she understood their love was once very special. Though the words were not really real it was all the confirmation she needed to move on and to start letting go of the past twelve years.
-------
“Are you ready Dr.Griffin?”
“I don’t think I’ll ever get used to that.” Clarke mumbled to herself while the nurse helped her carefully sit down into the wheelchair that would lead them to the car. Lexa was shuffling through paperwork to make sure everything was signed and okay for their release.
“Mrs.Woods?”
Lexa looked up from the papers and acknowledge the nurse as she pushed them all together. Nodding her head she followed the nurse with her cane in clutch as they made their way to the elevator.
Everyone wanted to come and help them but the two decided they were strong enough to return home alone. It was something they were going to have to get used to and what better way to start than now. In silence they all made their way down but instead of exiting they went through the back immediately peaking Clarke’s curiosity.
“Cameras.” Lexa spoke from ahead opening the next door for them to enter.
Clarke nodded her head carefully watching the brunette. Unless you had experienced it yourself it was completely crazy to just wake up one day and be over twelve years older.
What added to the craziness was that she actually lived those years and not just slept through it all. Her mother had come in explaining everything that had happened and even showed her pictures. It still seemed unreal with getting used to this was going to take a lot of time.
Outside there was a town car waiting for them. The driver came around to open the door for the ladies.
Carefully Clarke stood up entering the car. Lexa right behind her thanking the nurse for her help then sliding into the car. With the door slammed shut they finally were making their way back home.
“Lexa?”
“Yes, Clarke.”
“I’m sorry.” Lexa turned cautiously toward the girl who waited patiently for eye contact. Once it was made it hurt like hell to stare into the blue eyes. There was not anyway she could look into them without wanting to hold and love her like she once used to.
“For what?”
“For letting you love me the way you do.”
“Clarke.”
“I see the way you look at me. The way you talked to me those nights when you thought I was sleeping. I don’t think I could ever love you like that.”
“Whether you get your memory or not Clarke, I know you will love me as you once did. That kind of love never dies.”
“And in nine months?”
“We used to have a saying, kom disha sonraun taim ai las.”
“What does it mean?”
“From this breathe until my last.”
“It sounds so much more powerful in the other language.”
“It is Trigedasleng. I will teach it to you. We use to speak it by choice once you picked up the language. You had said the same thing when you first heard it.”
“Powerful?”
“You claimed it was compelling with its authoritative words.”
“It’s you in a language.”
“Basically.” Lexa looked backed out the window knowing they were nearing the house. Unfortunately she knew the question had to be asked and it was better to get it over with now as she was trapped in the car and could not escape.
“Could I get a picture of us.” Lexa asked with much care. It had taken Clarke off completely by surprise causing her spin her body around to face her.
“I never pictured you as one for the camera.”
“I’m not. It’s just some of my fans are kind of dying to know what is going on between us and with me running for mayor…”
“Raven did mention that. Congratulations.”
“Thank you.”
“Let me guess your publicist is up your ass about this.”
“Very much so.” Lexa could hint the annoyance already of the publicist effect knowing Clarke with or without memories just had a tendency to strongly dislike him.
“I don’t want to tell anyone about your memory loss though.” Lexa had continued seeing that the woman was softening up to the idea.
“Are you embarrassed.”
“Never. I want to protect you. Soon people will notice you are pregnant and begin to follow you around leaving you no privacy. If we tell them we are okay the public will be off our backs for a while.”
“So you are buying us time. Fair enough.” Clarke could see her intentions were well. Taking the a few pictures she caught Lexa off guard when she kissed her cheek. Immediately the red rose to her cheeks by the soft touch.
“Embarrass Lexa?”
“Never.”
“It was for the fans.” Despite Lexa shying her head away, she tried to keep a smile from forming as Clarke backed away.
Looking out the window again, Lexa realized the time had finally come. They were home but how homey way home really when a stranger was moving in.
With the long green grass and the fairly large blue house it almost screamed American Dream except Clarke had worked very hard with the architecture to design the house. Which meant everything had been done to great careful detail.
From the swing on the porch to the cobblestone driveway to the balcony that wrapped around the upper level of the home, Clarke had made sure it was just the perfect mixture of them both. It was supposed to be a temporary home but that quickly changed once they had entered the completed house for the first time.
*Five Years Ago*
Clarke was heading into her last year of med school. Lucky for the couple, Clarke had decided to stay close to home so that they could remain near each other as Lexa cultivated her business. The two had moved in with each other three years ago into a small old apartment right after Clarke had graduated from undergrad.
Despite her wonderful grades in school, Lexa dropped out to pursue her business career. After it took off, Lexa had convinced Clarke that they get a house.
Today was the day they finally moved in and Lexa could feel her body pulsating with excitement and anticipation. Clarke had opened the door of the car quickly jumping out.
“Clarke wait!” Lexa ran up from behind to catch her at the doorstep. Just as Clarke opened the door she felt her legs being taken from under her as Lexa swooped her up bridal style.
“Lexa what are you doing!”
“Did you know that in the Middle Ages the groom whisked away the bride as a symbol of kidnapping her from her family?”
“So I’m being kidnapped?”
“No carrying the bride through the threshold was to prevent her from seeming too excited to loose her virginity.”
Clarke threw her head back in laughter at the mere idea of trying to hide that fact. “We would have to actually be virgins for that.”
“We are to house.”
“Lexa Woods are you suggesting we break in our new house by having sex after only being in it for two seconds.”
“I love the way you read my mind.” Clarke kissed her girlfriend with laughter and excitement that soon became lustful as she began to unbutton her shirt.
By the time Lexa led the two into their new home, her shirt had already fallen by the entrance. Lexa kicked the door shut behind her earning another moan from her girlfriend. Her mind was too focused on the woman in her arms, she could have sworn she was on cloud nine.
“SURPRISE!” Unable to grasp what was going on Lexa had almost dropped Clarke on her ass if it had not been for the tight grasp around her neck.
“Can’t you two keep it in your pants for five minutes.” Raven walked over with a glass in her hand and wide smile to see the red in both of their faces.
While there was not many people, their living room was filled with family and friends with smirks smeared all over their faces. The two were frozen by the door in a complete mess as all the guess surrounded for their housewarming party which neither knew about.
“This isn’t happening.” Lexa whispered as Clarke’s mouth remained gaping open.
“Do you girls have a pool we don’t know about yet?” Looking down Lexa realized she was in her bra. Instincts took over at Abby’s comment as she quickly carried Clarke up the stairs before any more jokes could be made.
“We’ll be right back!” Clarke shouted over her shoulder as another joke was made from their living room.
Lexa had no time to enjoy the view of the house as she search for a shirt after dropping Clarke onto the bed.
“Relax Lex.”
“Your mom just saw me sucking on your face in a bra.” Finally finding a decent shirt to wear she pulled it out in positivity that it was actually Clarke’s shirt.
“I think it was kind of hot.” Clarke crawled over to the edge of the bed where Lexa was buttoning up a new shirt.
“Don’t do that Clarke.” Playing with fire she licked her lips to toy with the brunette. That was enough to send the girl off the edge as she grabbed the girl by her wrist and pinned it over her head to lay her flat on her back.
“You’re evil.”
“No just madly in love.” Lexa removed her lust from the kiss to lovingly kiss her girlfriend. It was her favorite part in their relationship. It wasn’t just about the sex for either of them or the fun they do outside the bedroom.
It was the passion that came in kisses as this one. Nothing could make her stomach turn in excitement, make her body float, or allow her mind to be weightless the way it was when she was with Clarke.
“Don’t ever leave me Lexa.” Clarke hummed against her lips, keeping their foreheads pressed.
“Nowe.” (Never)
“Where are you two lovebirds?” Both slightly pulled away from their second kiss in the bare room as Anya’s voice echoed from up down below.
“Kom disha sonraun taim ai las?” Clarke looked into the green eyes for the confirmation she needed.
“Kom disha sonraun taim ai las.” Lexa confirmed before the two went back downstairs to the reality that waited them.
