"So, Tangled or Frozen?" You repeated for the tenth time that hour.
Of all the questions there were to ask, this should not have been one of them. In all honesty, you weren't even sure why such a question was being asked. It wasn't as if this was the only movie night you two would do; you could have another one soon, the very next night if Kylo wanted! All he had to do was ask, and Movie Night Number Two would happen.
And besides, you'd already agreed on watching both. The only thing to decide was in which order, and yet here he was, acting as if the wrong option could lead to disastrous events.
For the umpteenth time, you felt like sighing as you watched Kylo glance over each DVD, lifting one up as if to weigh the likelihood of watching it compared to the other. He shifted both into one hand, gazing over Tangled as if it were some unsolvable riddle, and cupped his chin in thought.
The thing was, you've never seen him look this concentrated. Killing? A simple slice through the body will suffice. Strategy planning? Casually suggest ideas while trying not to look as bored as he feels. He has to go through some of the hardest decisions to make, and yet a choice between two Disney princesses is what stumps him.
It could've been funny if you weren't so tired.
And to think, this was all to cheer him up. After happening upon him on your way to collect more orders from Captain Phasma, you had been ready to run as fast as you could, especially after seeing him cry. You were so sure you were going to die, and then he'd hugged you, wrapping long arms around you and drawing you closer.
He cried into your shoulder and you'd comforted him the only way you could think of; and then, hoping this wasn't the moment he killed you, suggested the movie night.
Surprisingly, it wasn't that hard to get him to agree. In fact, he agreed straight away, and with a nod, he was pushing you in the direction of the sofa and turning to where a small shelf of DVDs sat to grab the previously-mentioned names - and then the rest was history.
And now, you've sat here longer than it would've taken to watch both movies, watching him go through what looked to be an existential crisis.
You leaned forward, elbow on crossed knee, and leaned your chin atop the hand attached to it. You followed Kylo's mini pace as he continued to contemplate the top movie, and then sighed and shifted it below the other one.
"How about we watch them in the order of release date?" You suggested, "So Tangled first and then Frozen... I think?" You weren't overly sure but frankly, you didn't care if it got Kylo to agree.
He stopped glaring at both the DVDs to turn it on you, and you almost paused in surprise at how you didn't flinch. Just mere hours beforehand, you had been terrified of him. Maybe seeing him stuck on princesses lessened the whole 'murdery-villainy' vibe.
"Or not," You replied to the glare. He went back to burning holes into the DVD cases.
A couple more minutes passed, and then he was nodding, releasing his chin with a satisfied look on his face. You almost dreaded asking him about his choice but you were curious enough to not let it stop you.
"So, which one are we watching?"
Instead of answering, he turned in the direction of the large bookcase, going directly to the shelf that hid, rather sneakily, his collection of Disney movies. The bookcase itself was shoved deep into the corner, but you still wouldn't see the movies unless you were looking for them, and even then it took careful observation.
After all he still had a reputation to uphold, heaven forbid someone come into his room and see that collection.
You could still remember when you first found it. You'd been ordered to clean his rooms while he was away, and with no other choice you nodded and hurried your way over, wanting to get it over and done with before he got back.
When you found it, you hadn't taken it in properly, blinded by the need to leave as soon as possible. But once away and busy with another task, you'd paused and wondered if what you had seen was real or not. You enjoyed the fact that it had been, Kylo really had Disney movies.
"Neither," was what brought you back to reality, and it took you a couple of seconds to register what the response was for. You blinked at him. Did he really-? You've been sitting here, waiting for him to make a decision and he's just-.
You glared and stomped your way over to snatch one of the DVDs out of his hand and hit him with it. He quickly snatched it back and delicately put them both back in their original positions on the shelf. Once they were in the position he wanted, he turned and glared.
You ignored it, breathing a huff through your nose and went back to the sofa, flopping down gracelessly. You crossed your arms over your chest. Had you really just been sitting there waiting for him to decide, only for him to choose he wanted neither?
You sighed and looked up at him. He had gone back to ignoring you, and instead focused on the various other DVDs to choose from. He looked so concentrated, hand cupping his chin with the slightest tilt of his head. You were sure, were he facing you, you'd see his eyes narrowed too, focused more intently than a bunch of movies really deserved.
You weren't sure whether to sigh, laugh or groan, or all of the above. You were going to be stuck here for the next hour, weren't you? Well, you may as well get comfortable. It's gonna be a long night.

The woman screamed, ear-splitting and frightened, and you jumped despite having expected it. You watched as the woman ran down the corridor, tunnel-vision at the extreme. You shook your head at the amount of stupidity shown.
Honestly, how could one person be this stupid? Only in a horror movie would they run straight to the door that says 'Danger! Do Not Open!', and open it anyway.
If anything, the growls coming from within should've alerted her at least, but oh no, she seemed deaf to those too. And now weird, tentacle-armed monsters were running — sliding? You weren't sure — after her.
She finally passed by a door and slid to a quick stop, throwing herself inside of it and shutting it behind her. Gazing around, she spied a closet and without another thought, climbed inside, shutting the door with a light thud.
There was a moment of suspense, in which the protagonist tried calming her breathing to a slower, quieter inhale-exhale. This was the exact moment they hoped the audience would copy, so the jumpscare that'd come up next would scare them more.
And you stupidly fell for it, subconsciously calming your breath to match hers— and then jumping when the closet door opened with a bang.
Without meaning to, you twisted in your fright and buried your face into Kylo's shoulder. And to think, you were expecting something light-hearted. Instead, after another twenty minutes of waiting, — during which you'd fallen asleep —, Kylo fell down onto the sofa, startling you into nearly punching him. It had been Kylo's fast reflexes that prevented any bloody noses.
Once you had calmed and then apologised, he'd explained that you two were going to watch a horror movie and then a romantic one, to help calm the heightened nerves from the first movie, and you had nodded, yawning. You were still half-asleep and hadn't really cared what genre you watched so long as you actually watched something.
He slipped the disc in and turned it on, and for the next fourty-five minutes, you wished you hadn't woken up. Save for those two mini jumpscares, the movie had been quite boring. It almost made you more tired.
What was the point of this story? Wasn't it to scare people? And besides, what was the plot even? You hadn't really been paying much attention. Opps.
You looked over at Kylo, who seemed to be more interested in the movie then you were, and while you didn't understand the fascination for it he seemed to hold, you were happy. The whole point of this night was to cheer him up, and if a cheesy horror movie and an even cheesier romantic movie accomplished that, well, you didn't mind.
You took in his eyes and noticed they'd lost their redness, and smiled. Snuggling deeper into the cushions, you wrapped your arms around yourself to gather more warmth (it was quite cold in Kylo's room), and continued watching the movie.
At some point, between the end of the horror movie and putting in the romantic one, you nodded off, peacefully oblivious to your surroundings.
Kylo turned, paused at the sight of your awkwardly-positioned body, head falling to an uncomfortable angle and drool beginning to dry at the corner of your mouth, and thought cute.
A little quirk of his lips was the only physical display of his thoughts, and if he'd noticed he would've been thankful you were asleep. That would've been embarrassing.
He grabbed a blanket, walked back over and carefully sat beside you, manoeuvring you into a more comfortable position — which just so happened to be your head against his shoulder — and pressed a light kiss against the crown of your head. Laying the blanket over the both of you, he wrapped an arm around your shoulders and settled comfortably himself.
And with the softest smile still on his face, he made sure the volume was down before pressing play.
