Chapter 1
All four of them were in the sekai, practicing for their next performance, but Saki and Honami had to leave early since they had some homework to finish. So it was just Shiho and Ichika left now.
"Should i ask her now? I mean yeah probably." Shiho thinks as she stops playing her bass.
"Um, Ichika? I have something to ask you" Shiho looks at her, getting ready to ask her what she wanted to for so long.
"Hm? What is it?" She stops playing as well, curious to see what Shiho will ask.
"Um, can i try playing your guitar? I wanna see as a bass player how I'll play an electric guitar" She asks, wondering if Ichika will agree.
"...You wanna see how you'll play? Yeah sure, you can try playing it! I can teach you if you want." Ichika says without thinking too much, which leaves Shiho surprised because she wouldn't let someone play on her bass so easily, so she wasn't expecting such a fast yes. But considering how long they've been friends for, she'd obviously let Ichika play on her bass too if she wanted to.
"Oh, thanks. I didn't think you would agree so fast."
"Why wouldn't i? I trust you with my guitar, Shiho." She says, removing her guitar to give it to Shiho.
"Yeah..thanks again." She removes her bass too, taking the blue guitar and putting it over her shoulder.
"No problem, so do you know how to play?"
"Uhh, I've never really played a guitar before but bass is pretty similar to it right? So lemme try." She sits on a chair behind her and holds the guitar carefully, positioning her left hand like she would on her bass.
Ichika giggles at that. "You don't have to be so careful Shiho, treat it like you treat your bass. And this is a guitar not a bass, you're supposed to have your hand like this not like that." Ichika steps closer to Shiho, taking her hand and positioning it the right way. The way she's doing it almost feels like she's hugging Shiho from behind.
Shiho gets a little red at that. "Y-yeah, forgot about that...I'll try it out for a little but until i try an actual song"
"Sure, take your time. I needed i break anyway."
After like 20 minutes of strumming the guitar and seeing what kind of sounds it makes when you strum a certain note, Shiho speaks up.
"I wanna try playing an actual song now" She looks at Ichika, who is currently playing Stardew Valley on her phone.
"What do you wanna play?" She slides her phone in her pocket and gets up, ready to help Shiho. "I wanna try Amanojaku(a born coward), it has some pretty sick guitar parts."
"Yeah, it does, and its not too hard either. I'm curious to see how you'll play!" She's actually pretty excited. Shiho takes out her phone to look up the song's tabs, and slows it down a little since she can't go that fast.
"Okay so the first part..." She starts to play the song, not sounding very good obviously.
"You're strumming too softly Shiho" She puts her arms around Shiho again, putting her fingers on hers to help play the right sound.
"O-oh sorry, i can't help but be careful since it's your guitar" She can't help but stutter, having Ichika so close to her was not good.
"It's okay really! Play it like you would play your bass!"
"Alright.." She starts moving her fingers with the help of Ichika's, and the song was a success for her first time playing.
"That was really good! Good job Shiho!"
"You think so?" She asks, a little unsure if she actually did well.
"Yeah, bass and guitar are a little similar after all"
"It felt so weird playing on six strings instead of four, it's like there's too many. The strings are thin too, compared to bass." She gets up and gives Ichika her guitar back. "Anyway, thanks for letting me play on your guitar."
"No problem, by the way...can i try playing on your bass too? Now I'm curious."
"Oh...yeah i guess, you let me play on yours so it would only be fair" Shiho gets her bass and hands it to Ichika.
"Thank you." She takes the bass, puts it over her shoulder and sits down on a chair. She strums a little. "Woah, the strings are so thick. How do you play it like its nothing? You're so cool."
"Well, I've developed enough finger power through all these years so it's not a problem for me anymore. And uhh..thanks, you're cool too.." She gets pink from saying embarrassing stuff like that.
"Thank you." Her left hand is positioned the way it would be on her guitar, except this is a bass.
"Oh, your hand. This is a bass remember." She holds and fixes her hand just like Ichika did earlier, and then realizes how close she is but stays there anyways. "Your hair smells nice, Ichika..."
"H-huh? My hair?" She says and looks up at Shiho, blushing. It's like Shiho's brain shuts off because as she looks up, she leans down and kisses Ichika. Then quickly realizes what she's doing and stops, covering her mouth.
"Ah! I'm sorry! I don't know why i did that!" Shiho is a blushing mess.
"...I-its okay..." Ichika is also shocked, but she didn't hate it.
"It's getting late, we should go home!" Shiho says, panicked, looking for her phone to stop the song and leave the sekai.
"Um, yeah it is late..here's your bass back." She hands Shiho the bass and starts gathering her things to leave.
"Oh, found it. Bye, see you tomorrow!" And she leaves. Ichika is left there, speechless.
She kissed me...
