Lets Switch Genders People
Ron was pacing in his room. He has one shot at this, if he messes up, he’ll be forced to dorm with the girls, and that was not what he wanted. His head is spinning, his brain is telling him that they will fail and everyone will know he’s what his brothers call “transexual”, but Ron is unsure how he feels ‘bout that word. In his mind he just is a boy, nothing else, to be a separate category of boy feels wrong.
“Ron, it’s time,” Ginny says, forcing him out of his daze.
“Yep, I’m ready,” He replies, following Ginny downstairs. He reminds himself that he’ll be fine, his parents are nice, right?
All of the siblings converge in the kitchen. Bill says, “Mum and Dad are in the living room, everyone on the same page?”
“We back up Ron and Ginny and use our talking points,” they all say simultaneously.
“Good, Weasleys, lets go,” Charlie commands and they enter the living room with their parents.
Molly looks at her children with confusion, “What is this about? Veronica, Gregory, what’s happening?” Ron flinches at ‘her’ name.
“Mum, I don’t like being Veronica,” Ron states.
“Yeah, and I don’t like being Gregory,” Ginny adds.
“Well, you are Veronica and Gregory, so you can’t change that,” Arthur says.
“But they can!” George says, raising his voice.
“George, calm down, and what do you mean they can?” questions Molly.
“He means we basically want to switch genders,” explains Ginny.
Ron adds on saying, “Yeah, Ginny wants to be a girl, and I want to be a boy, or I guess, Ginny is a girl, and I’m a boy, but we want other people to know that, not just ourselves. That make sense?”
Arthur answers this time, “I guess so, we’ll look into it, to be sure you two are ready for Hogwarts.”
Molly adds on, “Yes, we can talk to Prof. McGonnagal as well, so the school puts you in the right dorm and the castle will let you up the stairs, Ginny?”
“Yeah,” Ginny replies, “and Veronica is going by just Ron now.”
“We can figure it out, we love you both dearly, and we should figure out full names at some point as well,” says his mother. Ron feels so joyous at this he runs and hugs his parents.
