Purple And White

“Why are we doing this now, wasn’t your birthday like four months ago?” [Y/N] asked as she followed everyone into the paintball arena.
“Because if we dressed like zombies in June we would look like weirdos but in October we look cool.” Clint answered.
“I still say we look like weirdos.” Natasha chimed in.
“Oh come on ladies,” Tony exclaimed, tossing an arm around each of them, “have a little fun!”
“Whatever.” Nat huffed.
“Who’s on what team?” Steve asked.
“Stark and Barton are team leaders so it is for them to decide.” Thor chirped.
“I have a bad feeling about this.” Bruce murmured to himself.
“What fun.” Loki huffed dryly, wondering how he got dragged into this.
“I call [n/n]!” Tony declared.
Clint’s jaw tightened for a moment before he returned to his earlier joy.
“Then I get Nat.”
“Bruce my bro you’re with e.”
“Steve and Thor are mine too.” Clint announced
“Come on!” The billionaire shouted, “Why do I get Reindeer Games?”
“Because it’s my birthday.” Clint answered with a smirk.
“No it’s n-“
“Can we just start already?” Natasha asked.
“We’ll settle this like men.” Tony stated, adjusting his hold on the paintball gun.
With teams decided each group took their places hidden within the thick woods of the arena. Everyone was given their own color of paint that way at the end of the day it would be easier to tell who had won….
Clint was purple.
Steve was blue.
Thor had yellow.
Natasha had black.
Tony had red.
[Y/N] had white.
Bruce had green.
Loki, displeased as he was, had pink.
To the outside eye it would have looked like a group of friends dressed as zombies playing a game but those who knew the Avengers knew this game was anything but friendly. Things were going to get messy, fast.

Three hours, they had been out here for three hours and [Y/N] had lost track of how many spheres of paint she had fired off. She had happily doused Steve, Natasha, Thor, and even Tony a few times, despite his being on her team, with white paint every time she saw them but she had yet to spot her true target. Unfortunately there had been a firm rule put in place forbidding the use of powers so even she had to be careful as she made her way through the dense forest, even being hit a few times though it was mostly by her own teammates and Natasha.
“Damn it ow!” Tony shouted, looking down at the new white mark that covered the area where his chest would be, “For God sakes [Y/N], it’s me!”
“Sorry.” The [h/c] haired woman said as she jumped down from a well concealed tree break five trees down from where he stood.
“No you’re not.”
“Have your found him?” [Y/N] asked as she approached her team captain.
“No.” Tony answered wih a frown, “Damn guy is better at this than I thought if not even you can find him.”
“Hey, don’t count me out yet!”
At that moment Tony was hit with two more colors, one of pink and one of purple.
“He’s here!” [Y/N] yelled, [e/c] eyes immediately scanning the trees.
A chuckle sounded from the tree tops and was swiftly echoing through the woods as the owner of the voice hurried away. [Y/N] wasted no time chasing after Clint, jumping into the trees and using her heightened senses to keep track of him.

“Why did we agree to do this again?” Steve asked, looking over at Bruce as Tony fought with Loki but ten feet from where they hid.
Though they were on opposites teams neither was really too bothered with partaking in the paintballing massacre. They couldn’t believe their friends, treating each other the way they would treat any enemy. As a red ball of paint splattered on the tree above Steve’s head the super solider sighed and sunk lower to the ground.
“Can’t we just get out of here?” He huffed, looking over at the scientist with a pleading expression.
“We can.” Bruce confirmed with a nod, keeping close to the ground as he began leading the way in the direction he hoped led to the exit.

She shot blindly into the trees, hoping that with some form of luck she would be able to hit him.
“Here birdy, birdy, birdy.” [Y/N] muttered, “Come to [n/n].”
“Tweet tweet?”
Whirling around [e/c] eyes locked with blue-grey. He smirked down at her with a sparkle in his eyes that told her everything she needed to know. There was only one way this was gonna go down.
“You called?” Clint said, pointing his gun at her as she did the same to him.
“I thought it was only dogs who came when they were summoned?” She mocked.
“Birds will only come for one person, the person they trust and love the most.” He pointed out, finger hovering over the trigger.
“Is that a confession Robin Hood?”
“Take it how you want Maiden Marian, but I’m not leaving this damn forest until I leave my mark on you.”
“Funny, I’ve been thinking the same thing all day.” [Y/N] laughed before they both pulled the trigger.
With a sharp hiss they both dropped from their branches, clutching the spot where they had been hit.
“Alright so maybe next time, not so close.” Clint remarked, pulling his white stained hand away from his chest.
“Agreed.” [Y/N] nodded, standing to her feet while wiping the purple paint from her own hand.
“You know,” Clint began, “I don’t think I marked you well enough. After all I need Stark to know he should keep his hands to himself.”
“Oh really?” She mused, “You should be careful what you say, I do have a boyfriend.”
“I don’t think he’d mind.”
Clint closed the small distance between them in two short strides, taking her in his arms and roughly pressing his chapped lips against her smooth ones.
“I have to say, Maiden Marian, you look hot as a zombie.”
“Well Robin Hood I try extra hard just for you.” [Y/N] snickered, pulling him down into another kiss, “Happy birthday love, I hope you enjoyed yourself.”
“I think my favorite part was following you through the forest while you searched for me.” Clint teased, rubbing his nose against hers, “But watching you shoot Tony was pretty awesome too.”
“I think I should be worried about your stalker like tendencies.”
“I stalk because I care.” He defended.
“Right.”
“Hey if you two are done can we head back now?” Tony shouted with a smirking Natasha by his side, Tony being covered in paint obviously being the choice target for all, “I’m starving!”
