Chapter 1
Prologue:
The rain-soaked streets were eerily quiet, save for the flashing lights of the police cars that lined the sidewalk. Alpha Officer Seonghwa stepped out of his vehicle, his eyes scanning the scene before him. The air was heavy with the scent of wet earth and decay.
As he approached the crime scene, a sense of dread settled in the pit of his stomach. The police had already cordoned off the area, and Seonghwa could see the silhouettes of his colleagues moving about, collecting evidence and taking statements.
He ducked under the crime scene tape and made his way towards the bodies. The male victim probably a beta lay on his back, his eyes frozen in a permanent stare. A ligature mark encircled his neck, a grim reminder of the violence that had been inflicted upon him. The female victim on the other hand, lay on her side, a stab wound on the left side of her lower stomach.
Seonghwa's eyes narrowed as he took in the details of the crime scene. This was no ordinary murder. The killer had been calculated, deliberate but not a professional. Seonghwa's mind was already racing with theories and suspects.
Just as he was about to examine the bodies further, a sleek black car pulled up to the curb. Seonghwa's eyes rolled in exasperation as Doctor Hoongjoong stepped out of the vehicle.
Hoongjoong was a renowned psychologist , though nobody known whether Hoongjoong is an alpha but still with his cute and chubby face people decided to say he is an omega,nobody knows, hoongjoong is known for his sharp mind and quick wit. But Seonghwa had a love-hate relationship with the doctor. Hoongjoong's arrogance and condescending attitude grated on Seonghwa's nerves,or was that only just seonghwa idea?
As Hoongjoong approached the crime scene, a smirk played on his lips. Seonghwa's eyes flashed with anger, but before he could say anything, Hoongjoong had already walked past him and was examining the bodies.
"What are you doing here?" Seonghwa demanded, his voice low and even.
Hoongjoong looked up, a glint in his eye. "I'm your new team member, Officer Seonghwa," he said, his voice dripping with amusement.
Seonghwa's eyes widened in horror as he glanced at his phone. A text message from his boss flashed on the screen. "Meet your new team member and vice leader, Doctor Hoongjoong."
Seonghwa's face twisted in a scowl. This was a nightmare come true. He was stuck working with the one person he couldn't stand.
Hoongjoong's smile faltered for a moment, and he looked at Seonghwa with a serious expression. "We have a lot of work to do, Officer Seonghwa," he said. "Let's focus on solving this case."
Seonghwa's eyes narrowed, but he knew Hoongjoong was right. They had a murder to solve, and they needed to put aside their differences if they were going to catch the killer.
With a curt nod, Seonghwa turned back to the crime scene, his mind already racing with theories and suspects. Hoongjoong fell into step beside him, his eyes scanning the scene with a calculating intensity.
The game was on. And Seonghwa was ready to play.
