Chapter 14

Glinda had just left Elphaba's room, and Elphaba was already feeling like she really should've just taken the day off with Glinda. She started to teach her class and stopped herself.

"Okay guys, I'm having a hard day and now I need you all to just read the next five chapters and take notes for the next two days. If not, I'll need reasons." Elphaba says calmly, and plopping herself on her desk as she contemplates whatever the hell she was doing last night. (Because she's still processing how fast they moved on, and how Glinda looks completely normal...)

Two knocks on the door... Wait, doesn't Elphaba do that herself? Alas, she walks to the door and sees Glinda, and Fiyero smiling awkwardly at her. Elphaba looks like she's about to have a nervous breakdown, and Fiyero shoves her into a hug with all of Elphaba's students watching as she starts internally dying.

"Oh, Fae. You finally did it! Ah, I'm so happy for you. But, we do want to- OHH..." Fiyero finally notices the rest of the students watching Fiyero squeeze Elphaba into a hug. Elphaba sighs and practically pulls him off of her.

"Yero, can we take this outside of the classroom? There are... Students watching, man." Elphaba says, receiving a frantic nod back from a now kind of embarrassed Fiyero. The both of them walk out of the room and see Glinda looking left out.

"Why didn't I get the first hug? Damn, Fifi. You really do have priorities." Glinda pouts, hugging Elphaba shortly afterwards.

"Yes, I do. And it's all because I-" Fiyero was cut off by Elphaba.

"What are you two rascals doing. I swear, I don't think I'll actually make it through the day at the rate you two are existing." Elphaba says, sighing as she continues to embrace Glinda. She was taking in the subtle sweet smell, like a vanilla type of smell.

Elphaba started to kind of- well... Forget what Fiyero was saying. She started paying attention to Glinda more then Fiyer-

"Fae, I swear to god... if you don't listen to me, I'm kidnapping Glinda." Fiyero threatens. Obviously, whatever they were coming to do was important.

Elphaba sighed again, and pulled back from Glinda's embrace as she walked over to him. "What is it, Yero." Elphaba asked.

"Glin and I just wanted to say hi, since we might take off before lunch." Fiyero said simply, nudging Elphaba. "Make sure to take good care of my best friend, Fae." Fiyero whispered into Elphaba's ear. Elphaba's face started Flushing, and she elbowed his side.

"F-Fae!- I'm just sayyiinnggg... When's the wedding?" Fiyero said, rubbing his side that now ached with pain,

"Elphie! Leave Fifi alone. He didn't do anything!-" Glinda said. "What did he even say?" She whispered into Elphaba's ear. Elphaba's face flushed am even more prominent shade of violet.

"It-It's nothing, Glinda. Just some dumb s-" Elphaba's mouth was covered by Fiyero's sweaty hand.

"Shhh... Don't tell her I said that, and don't swear on the school's property Fae." Fiyero said, smiling proudly at using the schoolbooks rules literally no one cared about. (Including himself, he just wanted to piss off Elphaba for fun.)

"Yero. How is your hand that sweaty... Holy crap." Elphaba said, wiping her lips off. She started chuckling as Glinda started practically fighting Fiyero.

"Fifi, did you have to do that to Elphie?" Glinda asks, arms crossed. Even with the height difference between the two, Glinda did not let that bother her at all. Fiyero looked nervous after just a few seconds, his charade of braverism cowering into playful fear.

"Haha- I should go before Glin takes off my head and tries feeding me to the Pidgeon's." Fiyero says, before running off. The two girls watched him for a good while, before Elphaba started turning back to the door to her classroom.

"I'll see you later, Glinda. Make sure not to kill Yero without me, okay?" Elphaba said with a smile. Glinda smirked back and shrugged.

"Maybe... We'll see how long he lasts." Glinda deadpans, crossing her arms and smiling proudly. Elphaba hugged her one last time before rushing into the classroom. She hoped no-one had heard their bickering, and started to read when she made it down to sit at her desk.

Glinda was assigning her class a project that would be due the same day on the next week.

"And if anything important comes up that will make it so you will not be able to submit this project, please notify me so I can change the due date. And please don't lie. We all know everyone hates liars, okay?" Glinda said. She tightened the apron around her waist she started to put on and walked over to the acrylic paints in the back.

Eventually, Glinda started painting. She started painting a poppy field that she had seen the day her, and the rest of the charmed circle had gone to see Elphaba's family.

The fields were astonishingly vibrant, and colorful.

"Glin! It's the lesbian flag!" Fiyero said, smiling at Glinda. The two had just broken up and were now becoming better friends. It was the second to last year of college, and Glinda had taken her sights off anyone.

"Oh, really?" Glinda asked, paid more attention, and sure enough: it was the colors of the lesbian flag. "Oh!" Glinda said. Her face cheered up and she started smiling.

"Yeah, I don't really understand why they did that... But it's still beautiful nonetheless." Elphaba said, she was smiling at the field. It seemed as if it would help her realize something about herself later in the future when she started gaining more romantic interest in people. (Or that's how Glinda saw it from the way Elphaba was staring at the field with a quiet understanding about something she hadn't known before.)

"Yeah, It's beautiful, Elphie..." Glinda replied.

But she wasn't actually looking over at where the field was. She was looking at Elphaba... She stared at Elphaba with such passion, it was practically radiating off of her.

"Glinda, we NEED to eat Elphaba's family's food! I've been craving some for months!" Boq said. Boq seemed a lot less uncomfortable now and was sprinting over to Elphaba's house.

"Wait- BOQ-" Fiyero yelled and followed Boq in the sprint to Elphaba's house.

Glinda and the others had yelled for Boq to wait up, laughing and tripping over one-another.

After a while of color picking, Glinda finally found the colors she was hoping to find. She started applying a base coat, thinking about how she could use the contrasts to her advantage. The paintings always just... came to her, probably by muscle memory or something... But she found the memories were the key factor to why she had wanted to make this painting.

Elphaba was seriously exhausted of being in the school. She needed a break, or she forgot to get coffee today... Probably the coffee cup that was missing from her desk was the reason she was contemplating leaving right then and there. Though, she would have no excuse for leaving this early.

And by Oz, Elphaba was missing Glinda.
