Chapter 1 - The First Killings
High school.
It was a new school year, and of course, there were new freshmen. There were a lot of interesting people who joined high school for the first day. But there was one person who stood out to almost everyone.
Hanagaki Takemichi.
A blonde, blue-eyed beauty, as everyone described him. Well, who could dislike Hanagaki? He’s nice, good-looking, and altogether, a total walking green flag.
With this, Hanagaki became pretty popular on the first day of school. This also made Hanagaki make some new friends—this includes Matsuno Chifuyu.
After a few days, Hanagaki and Chifuyu grew quite close for just meeting a few days ago. Ultimately, this led to them meeting each other’s friends. Like the Mizo Mid crew and Baji Keisuke along with Hanemiya Kazutora.
Takemichi being friends with Chifuyu led to him figuring out that Chifuyu is actually part of a pretty popular group. That’s how he also met some of his other new friends— like Mitsuya and Ken! Or better known as Draken. They both seem to be the mature ones of the group according to Hanagaki.
There’s Hakkai and the Kawata twins— they’re fun to be around.
Pah-chin and Peh-yan. They’re… interesting to say the least!
There’s also Sanzu, but he’s quite mysterious as Hanagaki puts it.
Then finally, there’s the leader of this group; Sano Manjiro— better known as Mikey.
At first, Hanagaki was pretty frightened to meet him, but it seemed like Mikey took a liking to him. He even gave him a nickname when they first met.
At first, Hanagaki was pretty happy about this. He’s made some new friends and seems to be fitting into his new school!
That is until his friendship with Mikey seemed to be getting a bit weird… How? Well, for example; Mikey seems to be a bit obsessed in a way with Hanagaki— or clingy.
Hanagaki never thought of it much at first, but now that about 2 weeks of the new school year have passed, he still wasn’t used to it.
Hanagaki thought maybe it was just how Mikey showed his love to his friends.
Well, that wasn’t true. Sure, Mikey was a bit clingy to his friends, but Hanagaki was a different story.
Mikey’s “love” towards Hanagaki was a lot different from the rest.
Hanagaki couldn’t tell you directly how— but if you saw with your own eyes, you could tell the difference.
But Hanagaki never really thought of it much. He liked Mikey. He was fun to be around and he was a good friend.
Never would Hanagaki have thought that Mikey’s love for him was so serious.
————
With Hanagaki being pretty popular by his looks, he’s bound to have some fangirls.
Sure, no one was particularly bothered by this… besides Mikey.
A burning rage stormed inside of Mikey’s chest whenever he saw one of Hanagaki’s fangirls trying to flatter him or trying to do poor flirting on him. Sure, Mikey was relieved that Hanagaki would deny them— (politely) but he didn’t think that was enough. He thought they needed to learn a lesson for trying to mess with what’s his.
This ended up leading up to a particular day. The day that Mikey couldn’t take it anymore.
Mikey was witnessing from afar how each of Hanagaki’s fangirls acted with him. There was this one girl in particular. She obviously had a crush on Hanagaki. But the thing that made it worse was that Hanagaki was actually getting a bit close to the girl— according to Mikey at least. In reality, they were just classmates and talked from time to time.
Near the end of the day, Mikey ended up putting a letter into the girl’s locker— saying it was signed by Hanagaki.
The letter said that supposedly Hanagaki wanted to talk to the girl at the entrance of their school a bit after dismissal.
Of course the girl had listened to what the letter had said and waited a bit after everyone else to head towards the entrance. Though as expected, Hanagaki wasn’t there.
The girl of course was a bit confused by this— looking around to see if he was actually there or not.
“Hanagaki? Are you here?” The girl called out still looking around. But there was still no answer.
Mikey smiled from the rooftop of the school, seeing how clueless the girl was. She seemed so desperate.
Mikey then picked up a box of pretty heavy books from beside him and set them on the railing.
Mikey gave one more smile before he pushed the box right on top of the girl.
THUD
The box had landed right on top of the girl’s head, making her go unconscious.
There was blood splattered on the ground. A bag that happened to fall out her hand when the box fell on her.
Mikey looked down at the sight before him, feeling proud of himself as if this was the right thing to do. He wasn’t actually sure if the girl had died or not— but oh well! He was happy with the results either way.
Mikey then started to walk back inside the school as if nothing had even happened.
——————
Hanagaki of course wasn’t alone when transferring to a high school— he had his old friends with him from middle school!
There was Akkun, Takuya, Yamahishi, Makoto, and one of Hanagaki’s only female friends— Tachibana Hinata.
Hinata and Hanagaki knew each other since they were about 7 years old— a pretty long time if you will say.
Their friendship has always been strong.
Hanagaki saw Hinata as a great and caring friend while Hinata saw more.
Hinata loved Hanagaki romantically… she has for a long time now. Though, she never had the guts to actually tell Hanagaki about her feelings towards him.
Hinata thought that she might have had all the time in the world to confess.
Well, she was wrong.
Since a lot of girls had crushes on Hanagaki, of course this made Hinata jealous. After all, she was his first female friend— sure that already put her at an advantage but Hanagaki never seemed to like her romantically back. This made Hinata nervous, that maybe Hanagaki would like someone else more than her which would make him forget her. If anything, that is one of Hinata’s greatest fears.
Hinata’s heart would always tighten would she would see him with another girl that wasn’t her.
One day, Hinata ended up overhearing some girls in the bathroom.
“You know that Hanagaki kid?” One of the girls asked. “Oh yeah! He’s that cute blondie, right?” One of the other girls answered. “Oh— him? Yeah I’ve heard of him. People say he’s like really cute, right?”
The way she heard them describe Hanagaki just pissed her off. How they said that Hanagaki was cute— which was true. But in Hinata’s defense, she felt like she was the only person who could pamper Hanagaki.
It should be only be her.
Hatred for those girls grew in Hinata. But the again, they just liked Hanagaki, not like they—
“I’m planning on confessing to him tomorrow!” One of the girls ecstatically said.
What?
Confess to Hanagaki?
Before her?
No. She couldn’t let the happen.
She just couldn’t.
So what did Hinata do?
Well, she got rid of them of course!
————
Hinata happened to figure out where one of the girls would be at night— the one who said she was going to confess to Hanagaki, to be exact.
With the help of her younger brother, Tachibana Naoto, she had figured out that the girl would be hanging out with some friends.
Naoto happened to overhear their conversation so that helps Hinata’s case.
“Why do you even wanna know this?” Naoto asked his big sister. Hinata just awkwardly smiled. “Ahh, no reason. I just want to be..” her sentence trailed off as she tried to think of an answer. “Be friends with her! Yeah, that’s it— to be friends with her.” Hinata said even though that was the exact opposite of she wanted.
Naoto just shrugged and gave Hinata the information that she for some reason wanted. Naoto knew his sister was lying, but if she had to lie, it would be for a pretty good reason— right?
Hinata walked through the dark streets of Shibuya.
According to Naoto, the girl should be walking home about now.
So Hinata waited until she ran into the girl.
Well, she finally did. Just Hinata’s luck.
The girl was walking alone, looking on her phone. Probably to tell her parents she was on the way back— if Hinata had to guess.
The girl stopped in her tracks once she saw Hinata in front of her.
“Excuse me? Could you move please?” The girl asked politely.
Hinata didn’t respond to her. She was making sure there was no one around.
Luckily for Hinata, they were in a dark alleyway that most people wouldn’t even dare to walk into.
“Are you even hearing me!?” She yelled, starting to get mad— even though her voice was falling on deaf ears.
Hinata ignored her nagging. It was getting kind of annoying according to herself.
Once Hinata couldn’t take hearing the annoying voice anymore, she pulled out the knife that she hiding in her clothing and pointed at the girl.
“Could you shut up with your nagging? It’s getting annoying.” Hinata said with a dark tone.
The girl’s eyes had widened in fear— taking a step back away from Hinata.
Darkness— that’s what Hinata saw. It was as if her subconscious was taking over her.
After opening one her eyes, he saw the sight before her.
The girl that was going to ask Hanagaki out— dead, on the ground.
Hinata felt no remorse for what she had did. What she did feel was that she needed to get back home.
Hinata dropped the bloody knife on the ground next to the victim.
She then proceeded to nonchalantly walk away from the scene— as if nothing had happened— and walked back home.
——————
Emma and Draken.
Almost everyone knew that the two of them had a crush on each other.
All of Toman knew— all of Emma’s friends knew.. Hell! Even friends of friends knew!
Emma had always wanted to be with Draken for the longest time. Ever since Mikey had introduced him, Emma was in-love.
That was until she went to high school.
Sano Emma was also one of the new first years.
With Emma being siblings with Manjiro Sano— along with Izana Sano and Shinichiro Sano, she was already well-known.
She was considered popular in their school— with her small friend group.
It consisted of her, Shiba Yuzuha, and Kawaragi Senju.
It was just the three of them at first— until she was introduced.
Tachibana Hinata.
Not really to Emma’s surprise, Mikey had found a new friend to possibly join his group. But what was surprising to Emma was that the boy had a girlfriend.
Well— a friend that is a girl.
Emma soon introduced Hinata to Yuzuha and Senju. It didn’t take long for the two of them to start liking Hinata in their friend group.
It wasn’t long before Hinata and Emma became best friends. But— Emma felt like she felt more.
For some reason— Emma started to feel what she felt towards Draken… but towards Hinata.
Why do I feel like this? Emma always asked herself. Why would I feel this way towards Hinata?
Then she finally came to realize— Emma didn’t love Draken anymore…
She loved Hinata.
————
Hinata and Emma started to hang out more and more— they were practically around each other all day.
As Emma appreciated the new friend, she can’t help but still find her feelings weird.
Emma was a girl, and so was Hinata.
But Emma couldn’t change her mind.
She adored Hinata.
So with her new profound feelings— she couldn’t help being jealous.
“You know that new freshman? Tachibana Hinata?”
“Yeah dude, isn’t she like the cute one?”
Said some sophomore boys that Emma happened to overhear.
“She looks weak, doesn’t she? I bet if I had her fall for me, she would do anything I want!”
“Damn bro, if you did, you’d be so lucky.”
As the two boys talked, Emma’s anger increased.
How dare they talk about Hinata like she’s just some toy? Like they can play with her feelings?
No. She couldn’t let that happen.
————
Emma knew she was good looking. So of course she wasn’t oblivious to guys looking at her or wanting to be with her. She wasn’t dumb.
Almost no one can resist her charms. (besides people who are faithfully dating.)
So here’s the simple plan.
Step 1: Try to seduce the boys.
Step 2: bake cupcakes and poison them
Step 3: say she baked cupcakes for the two
Step 4: they eat them and die
A pretty simple plan to be honest.
Step 1 was already done. She saw that they already had their looks on her.
Stupid fucking boys.
They dare crush on Hinata— plan to use her— and still have the audacity to look at Emma that way.
It was disgusting.
But hey, as long as they’re eliminated, it won’t matter anymore.
But she had a problem in one of her steps. How the hell would she get poison? It’s not like you can just ask for some.
Luckily, she had a person in mind on who could help her.
————
Izana was leaning against the wall in an alleyway, waiting for someone. Once he saw that certain someone, he looked her.
He looked down at her, a serious expression on his face. “Before I give this to you, why would you need poison, Emma?” He asked.
Emma just sighed and held out her hand. “It’s none of your business Izana-nii. Just give me the poison if you have it or not.” She said unambiguously.
Izana huffed out a laugh and started to dig into his pocket. “You’re serious about this,” he said as he presented something to her in his hand.
Emma looked at the item with a puzzled face. “Well, what is it?” She asked. “It’s a type of rat poisoning,” he answered while giving the poison to her.
She inspected the poison while Izana continued to talk. “I’m pretty sure if any human consumes it, it’ll do damage to their nervous system. It even has a high chance of death.”
Emma just nodded to his words. Izana sighed and shook to his head— mainly to himself. “You still haven’t answered my earlier question.” Emma just hummed, still not looking up at him. “Why do you need this?” He asked, repeating his earlier question.
Emma groaned. Why couldn’t her older brother just stop nagging her?
“It’s really none of your business, Izana-nii.” She responded grimly.
Izana continued to look down at her before patting her on the head. “It’s fine. Just tell me whenever.”
He took his hand off her hand and started to walk out of the alleyway. “I’ll be at home in time for dinner!” He yelled out before disappearing around the corner.
Emma gave a soft smile walking off to her house.
———
It was now the next at school. Emma had the cupcakes in her school bag. All she needed to do now was make the boys eat the cupcakes.
Luckily, she saw the two boys.
Perfect.
She walked up to the two. “Hey, you two wanna try some cupcakes I made? I just wanted to know if they’re good or not.” She said, unsuspecting.
The two boys instantly stopped their conversation, a blush appearing on both of their faces.
“Yeah! We don’t mind trying some!” One of them said.
Emma reached into her bag and pulled out a container filled with two cupcakes. She handed one to each of the boys, her smile not faltering. “Just let me know how they taste!”
The boys started to devour the cupcakes.
Emma’s smile got bigger— out of happiness. That her plan worked. And that these boys will die.
“It’s pretty good but they kinda have a weird taste to them.” One of them said while continuing to eat it.
Emma’s smile soon disappeared out of disappointment. “Shit. I thought it was tasteless.” She said impassively.
One of them stopped eating and looked at her, disoriented. “What do you mean?” He said while starting to clutch his chest. “Why do I feel so weird!?”
Emma just chuckled. “Well it seemed to take effect much more faster than I thought.” She turned her back towards them. “If you must know, I put rat poisoning in the cupcakes.”
The boys looked at her in disbelief. But before they could respond, Emma spoke again. “This will now teach you not to mess with me or Hinata— saying you even survive.” She the walked off without further discussion.
Later that day, the boys were hospitalized. One was deemed dead while the other’s nervous system was totally messed up.
Emma was pretty happy with herself. Infact, all three of them were.
Sano Manjiro, Tachibana Hinata, and Sano Emma.
With their new found interests and desire—
These truly were only the first killings.
