They always add up, Whether you like it or not.
"We do what we must to Survive, Clarke.."
She Despised those words.
Not just a straight hate, but a disgust straight to the Core, She could never forgive her. Ever.
Clarke watched as Lexa left her in her cell.
She walked over to the corner of the Cell where her knife was thrown and Lexa didn't bother to care.
Lexa cared for her.
But Clarke didn't care. She Hates her and that's all that matters now.
She grasped her Ribs, right underneath her left breast realizing again where the Mountain lion had given her own battle wound.
She never decided to take a look at it.
She unzipped her light jacket, taking it off.
Clarke lifted her shirt just so she could view the damage.
"Shit." She just murmured.
The area around the broken rib was right under her left breast, it was black and blue, the circle around the size of her hand, the edges Yellowing at this point.
She tried to stand but cried out in pain.
"Shut up Wanheda." The guard spat.
Clarke had enough, the anger and adrenaline pumping through her body at this point was expelling the pain.
"Make me." That was all the encouragement the guard needed, he pushed open the gate.
He just took strides, underestimating Clarke's speed.
He unsheathed his sword, gripping it with both hands,
Clarke stood there, waiting for his attack.
The Guard took a large swing, being too brutish for his own good.
Clarke ducked under his sweep, she jabbed her knife into his left calf, moving up his body, to his right thigh.
"Nic om ple ste odon." (Your fight is over.)
Clarke slashed his chest and throat in two fluid movements, the blood squirting out his jugular.
The Grounder's body slumped to the floor on its knees.
Clarke just kicked the body on its side.
She swung the blade towards the ground, the blood on her knife splatting on the floor.
A pool of blood began to surround the dead body.
But now that he was dead, How does she escape.
Think Clarke. THINK! YOU AREN'T DEAD YET.
She screamed.
She ducked behind some crates beside the stairwell as several guards ran down.
"Wanheda has escaped. Inform Heda. We must find her. MOVE!" The grounder shouted in Trigedasleng.
The guards ran up the stairs, Clarke followed slowly after them.
She got up and took a quick look around, the cabin straight across. Tents All the around the left side, and a treeline to her Right.
She made a dash for the treeline, hoping nobody saw her, but hoping one person did see her. Lexa.
Clarke was battling her thoughts. hoping they'd give her a chance, give her a breather to just stop.
But that was too easy.
Even for her.
Lincoln ran through the door.
Lexa was staring out the window from her throne, almost expecting him to come in.
"Did you find her?" He was almost out of breath, Octavia and Bellamy arriving right behind him.
"She escaped and ran off." Her voice cold and almost monotone, as if she had never cared.
"Why would I keep somebody here if they don't want to be here? If she doesn't want my protection, so be it. Let her find out what Titus and scavengers can do."
"She's our friend, we have to find her." Lincoln said, shocked and exasperated.
Octavia had a look of despise on her face, just walking away.
"I can't believe her. Shes so self-centered!" Octavia bursted after they entered the forest.
"We can't blame her if Clarke killed one of her soldiers and ran." Bellamy spoke up.
"So what! Lexa owes us. REMEMBER WHEN SHE LEFT US AT MT WEATHER!?" Octavia kept coming, The aggressiveness in her unleashing.
"REMEMBER WHEN YOU HELPED CLARKE PULL THE SWITCH? YEAH SO DO I! HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN HOW MANY OF OUR PEOPLE, DIED IN MOUNT WEATHER?"
"NO OCTAVIA I HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN, BUT IT SEEMS YOU FORGOT THAT WE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO PULL IT!" Bellamy Responded, just as hot headed.
"Both of you, Shut up. Clarke is being reckless. She's leaving easy tracks." Lincoln shut both of them up.
"Whats she doing?" Octavia spoke up, Leaving her brother behind.
"Shes watching us." Lincoln spoke.
"Great." Bellamy said, Gripping his gun.
Lexa was gathering her things.
She saw Clarke run. She knows where shes going.
"You could atleast give me a heads up that you were going after her." Indra spoke.
"Atleast bring somebody with you. Willhem, maybe?"
"I need to do this on my own, Indra." Lexa paused.
"I can handle myself."
"That's not what I'm worried about." Indra sighed.
"There are more than just wolves and Azgeda out there. You know that just as well as I do."
"And that's why I'm going after her. I'll bring him, but that's it."
Lexa walked out of the cabin. Walking to the training grounds where Willhem stood tall, almost like Gustus.
"Willhem, come. Were going after her."
"Sha, Heda." (Yes Commander.) He Responded.
"Gather your things, we pack light and quick. We move now." Lexa said harshly.
Willhem nodded, Picking up his large battleaxe and his leather pack, He gave Ryder his role while he was gone.
Lexa and Willhem walked side by side.
Willhem was fully understanding of why Lexa was going after Clarke.
They Walked and Ran, Tracking Clarke for Hours, it being around Noon when they left the camp.
"The Sun's going down.. Should we stop?" Willhem spoke up.
"Give it 25-" Lexa started speaking, she stopped, Listening.
"Did you hear that?"
"Pauna.." Willhem Whispered.
"We need to move now. And quickly." Lexa said. Willhem merely nodding as he watched the trees around them.
They walked a few paces where they were able to see a portion of high ground.
"Up there. Fire." Lexa spoke, pointing at a glowing point about a Kilometer up hill.
"Let's hope it's her." Willhem whispered aloud.
They walked up the slope, the sky turning almost pitch black.
They peeked over the small lip of the Hill.
"Damnit. Its Lincoln." Lexa said shaking her head.
They walked up and into the camp where Octavia, Lincoln and Bellamy sat.
"Did you find her?" Lexa spoke up.
"Did you find her?" Lexa said, concern was in her voice, she could hear it.
She sat on her perch above their camp, waiting.
The roar came again. The Pauna was watching them.
She was counting on Lexa coming out, but she didn't know who was with her. Another bodyguard, sloppy and slow probably.
The Pauna came into view. A single loud breath came out its nose as it started pounding its chest and roaring.
Bellamy began shooting, Bullets flying into the Pauna's chest and shoulder.
The Pauna ran at him, throwing its fist at him, Bellamy had rolled at the right moment, the fist missing him, but the Pauna followed up with another hit, slamming him in the chest as he went flying into a dirt mound.
Willhem went into action, swinging his large axe into the heel of the Pauna, the Slash went deep.
The Pauna bellowed as it waved its fists, going after Lexa. This is what she was waiting for..
Lexa slid under the Pauna's attack, using her sword to slice at its chest.
The Pauna merely turned around, grabbing her, It threw Lexa against a tree, Lexa slumping over and limp, Willhem jumped on the Pauna's back, enraged, he took his axe and started chopping and hacking at its neck. The Pauna fell to its knees, Octavia walking over and jabbing its throat for good measure. Blood continued to pour out of its lifeless corpse as they assessed eachother.
Clarke had descended from her perch.
She grabbed Lexa and began to carry her, her broken rib now becoming a nuisance, Lexa had one eye open, knowing full well that Clarke was carrying her.
They walked several minutes until they entered a cave, they were deep into the cave when Clarke decided set her down.
She started a fire when Lexa came too.
"Why not.. Just kill me now.." She spoke.
"Because. It wouldn't be fair." Clarke responded.
Lexa just nodded.
Clarke approached her, pulling Lexa's shirt up, examining her back. "It's not broken.. You'll live." Clarke sighed.
"You were hoping I would die.." Lexa said, Staring at the ground.
"Actually. Yes, I was." Clarke threw a log onto the fire, the embers dancing in the air.
Lexa shifted, trying to sit upwards more, she yelped in pain.
Clarke's head turned at lightning speed, as she moved over to Lexa and felt her ribs.
"You got a broken rib, maybe a few. I got one too."
Clarke lifted up her shirt to show the massive bruising.
"Clarke, Let me see.." Lexa said, trying to move.
"Sit still.. My god. I'll be fine." Clarke's voice monotone and cold.
"Clarke.."
"What?"
"I'm sorry. For everything. I'm sorry for leaving you." Lexa spoke, the sincerity coming straight out caught Clarke off guard.
"Placing a bandaid on shattered glass doesn't fix it.. What happened happened and its over." Clarke just stared at the fire, watching the embers appear and disappear.
Clarke got up, She began walking out of the cave as Lexa grasped her arm.
"I can't lose you. Please Clarke.. Don't leave."
"If you betray me again-" Clarke began but Lexa knew where she was going.
"I won't." She swallowed the pit in her throat.
"Clarke. I Vow to uphold and treat your people as my people. To treat you, as my people."
"Please don't leave me Clarke.."
"I'm not leaving, but don't expect any forgiveness anytime soon." Clarke spoke straight to the point.
"Thank you."
"I won't ever expect your forgiveness, because I know I don't deserve it.." Lexa said, keeping her head low, staring at the ground.
"Good." And that was the last thing either of them said that night, as they sat there in silence until they drifted off to sleep..
