Chapter 2
This went on for a few weeks. But, the band noticed a change in the songs that Bakugou was writing. Before, they were angry and wild songs. Now, they're bittersweet and soft and emotional, full of longing.
Mina and Jirou were the ones to bring it up. "Hey, Bakugou! Can we talk to you? It's about some of your latest music." Mina called. The blonde turned and sat down with the two girls.
"What about my music?" He asked.
"We've noticed a change in them. Not that we don't like it!" Jirou said. "We do! But-"
"We wanted to know what brought the change on." Mina interjected. Bakugou flushed a deep red.
"Ah, it's just, well, um, I-I have feelings for someone. And I guess that's bleeding through to my writing." Bakugou explained. The girls nodded in understanding. They both saw the slight sheen in his eyes where tears were collecting.
Kirishima stuck his head through the door. "Come on! We're about to start recording!" He called. Mina looked at Bakugou. She saw the longing written on his face. She knew that feeling all too well.
As they stood to go record Mina whispered. "It's Kiri, isn't it?" Bakugou looked at her with tears about to fall. He nodded and a couple tears fell. They rolled down from his eyes to his cheeks, heading to his chin where they would drop off from his face. Mina brushed the tears away with the pad of her thumbs. They made there way into the studio.
"We're recording 'Make Me Like You' first!" Mic announced. Bakugou sat down. He had to be there in case anything about the song needed adjusting. Hearing Kirishima sing songs the blonde had written about him, it took everything Bakugou had and was to hold back the tears. Despite the emotional pain Bakugou was in, he said nothing and they continued recording.
Bakugou continued holding back his tears. " 'Fallin For Ya' is up next!" Mic said.
"Actually, can Bakugou record this one?" Mina interrupted. The rest of the band added how they had been wanting Bakugou to record for a while now. Mic agreed to it. It didn't seem Bakugou had much of a choice. They got him set up in the recording studio.
'I'm not the kind to fall for a guy
Who flashes a smile
(it goes on for miles)'
Bakugou couldn't help but look at Kirishima.
'And now I'm fallin for ya'
Kirishima sang with him. Bakugou sang so intensely that it seemed that his whole heart and soul was in the song. The song ended eventually and for the second time that day, tears were rolling down Bakugou's face. The song had been the final straw. He couldn't hold them back anymore.
"Hey, Kats, hey why are you crying?" Kirishima asked. The little crease he got in his forehead when he was worried appeared. Bakugou could only cry harder. Sobs wracked through his body, leaving Bakugou shaking like a leaf in the wind. The redhead went in for a hug. "What's wrong honey?" Bakugou moved away from him. He knew that if he was held by those warm, strong arms he would destroy himself.
"What's wrong? Maybe, just maybe, I really like you and the only thing I can do is write songs that YOU sing!" The blonde exploded. "Maybe, listening to you sing and singing with you reminds me that I have to write songs about how in love with you I am because I'm not good enough for you!" His face was red and tears were streaming with such ferocity it would have outrun the Amazon River. Kirishima crowded the blonde into a corner. He caged him between the walls and him. Kirishima cupped Bakugou's face in his hands and held him like he was the redhead's entire world.
'Were his hands always this big?' Bakugou wondered. They seemed awfully large, holding his face like that. The redhead leaned down and kissed him gently but firmly.
"I really like you too." He whispered, still in Bakugou's space.
